=/\= Starbase =/\= Stephanie had very little reason or motivation to get up out of bed on this particular day. Then again, today was not much different than the past few days where she also had no reason to be up early, seeing as how she wasn't required to be anywhere. She rolled over a few more times, throwing the already dissheveled bed sheets off of her entirely. It was getting harder and harder to spend her days just sleeping them away. Taking a deep breath, she got up the strength to sit up in bed, later planting her feet on the floor next to the bed and standing up to make her way over to the small replicator in the corner of her room. "Coffee, black," she asked the replicator in a quiet, raspy voice. As soon as the steaming mug appeared, she reached slowly for it, finally bringing it to her lips and taking a sip. When the warm liquid reached her lips and began to trickle down her throat, it was as though she had just recieved a surge of instant energy. This was becoming the daily routine of Ensign Stephanie Camden. She had arrived on the starbase five days earlier with only knowledge that she would be recieving her next assignment there. Since then, she had just been waiting for her orders, but they had yet to come. Several times had Stephanie talked to the communications staff on the starbase to ensure that her orders hadn't been misplaced. Or to make sure she hadn't accidentally deleted a message or an important communication hadn't been mistakenly placed in her spam-mail folder. "Why couldn't they just tell me where my next post is without sending me halfway to Timbuktu to find out," she spoke out loud to herself as she walked towards the couch. Sipping her coffee in silence, she stared blankly at the walls. Before she started to drift too far into a daydream, a light chirp came from the console on the desk. Almost instantly, Stephanie jumped up, nearly spilling the remainder of her half-empty cup of coffee onto her legs. The sound of a new message excited her each and every time one arrived, knowing that it could be the message containing her orders. As she neared the desk, her brief excitement had faded a little bit, as she knew that each time she had thought it might be the message she was expecting, it turned out to be something else. The disappiontment was getting to her, but not as much as the anticipation and waiting. She glanced quickly at the name of the sender of the first of two new messages, a huge smile taking over her face. Stephanie continued to the body of the message, shaking almost excitedly the further along she read. Without even bothering to look at anything else, including the second message that she had recieved, she jumped up again and headed for the shower. Stephanie only had a short time to get ready to meet up with her older brother, who would be arriving on the station within the hour. The message she had read wasn't the one she had been expecting, but at least the one she did recieve was going to bring about a welcome change in the non-existant plans for her day. =/\= End Log =/\= Ensign Stephanie Camden Soon-to-be Assistant Science Officer USS Chimera
