=Turbolift= =U.S.S. Chimera= The darkness was quickly replaced by emergency lighting. Rick dragged himself off the floor and performed a self-diagnostic of his own person just to make sure that there was nothing broken or no serious cuts. Once that he was satisfied that everything was as it should be, Rick began to focus on the other problem at hand. He had noticed right away that the lift had stopped. He ordered a deck number, but the lift remained still. After issuing a couple more verbal commands, to no avail, he opened the controls and went to work. After less than two minutes, he came to the conclusion that the circuits to the lift were fried. The problem was that he didn’t have any spares on hand and there was no way he was going to get power to these circuits with the small engineering kit he had on hand. “That’s just great,” Rick muttered as he tapped his comm badge. +tap+ “Rodgers to engineering.” No reply came. +tap+ “Rodgers to main engineering, please respone.” Again, no reply. +tap+ “Rodgers to bridge.” “Rodgers to anyone.” ‘It always has to be the hard way, doesn’t it?’ Rick thought. After a little effort, Rick opened the hatch at the top of the lift and pulled himself up. Another shutter throughout the ship almost resulted in Rick falling back into the lift. Fortunately, he grabbed a hold of one of the rungs on the ladder along the wall. In doing so, though, he ended up spraining his left wrist. He rubbed the wrist before using his right wrist on the same rung to hoist himself to his feet. Painfully, he managed to climb to the nearest lift door. After opening it, he crawled into the adjacent corridor. After laying on his back for a moment, he managed to stand up. He was relieved to be on so,lid ground again, but his wrist was now throbbing in pain. He turned the corner, expecting to find another long stretch of corridor. Instead, he found himself back at the entrance of engineering. “Damn it,” Rick said to himself. “Sir, I thought you were going to met up with Gomez’s team,” an ensign said as Rick walked by. “So did I and leave it at that,” said a frustrated Rodgers. Rick was not even surprised to see Ensign Jason Stephens appear in front of him out of nowhere. “You know, if this wasn’t happening to us, it would be pretty funny,” Gomez said. Rick just gave him a hateful look, “I’m really hating today.” Gomez just patted his old friend on the back before heading to rejoin his team. “Hec, wait,” Rick said, before telling Gomez his plan to stabilize the temporal shields. “I don’t know if it will work, but it’s worth a shot. And since I’ve appeared back in engineering twice today because of these distortions, it would seem that I’m destined to be stuck here.” Gomez made a move to leave engineering again. “Hector, wait,” Rick said. “What now?” Gomez asked. Rick saw another ensign standing nearby working at one of the consoles. “Ensign Stephens, is it?” Rick asked. “Yes, sir,” Stephens said. “I want you to join Mr. Gomez here on working with our problem with the temporal shields,” Rick said, before turning to Gomez. “Besides, I don’t want any of us wondering around this ship alone again until we get out of this mess.” They both nodded and left engineering. “Now for those engines,” Rick muttered to himself. Before Rick could issue out any more orders ..., “Guzman to Engineering, who ever is in charge down there answer!" +taps+ “Lieutenant Rodgers here sir.” Rick had a bad feeling things were going to go from bad to worse. +tap+ "Lieutenant you have exactly 5 minutes to make whatever you think it need's to be done to make her fly. Shortly we will head into the anomaly and I supposed it will be quite a rocky ride." Shane said fastly. ‘WHAT!’ Rick thought. +tap+ “But Sir ...!” Rick said. +tap+ "Do what I've said Lieutenant and pray I am not going down to engineering to look after order," Guzman said before ending the transmission. Rick just rubbed his eyes with his right hand while still favoring his left. “Alright, people, listen up!” Rick said to everyone that was within earshot. “This is what we’re going to do ... and we’re going to do it in the next four minutes and 47 seconds.” Lieutenant (j.g.)
