=/\= Starbase Kinsi =/\= Andy leaned against the wall of the dingy holotheater tapping through the 5-year old selection of programs the facility had in its library. He finally shook his head, closed the panel, and turned back into the central ring of the station. Station! Ha! That's a laugh, though Andy. Kinsi was more of an outpost. He'd been here for 3 days, and already he felt he'd exhausted his options. Two bars, a trio of restaurants, and a half dozen other miscellaneous shops and facilities. Granted, the station couldn't have had a crew of more than 40 or 50 ... combined with a civilian population of another 60-70, it was a pretty small community here. Still, the station was of enough local importance that there were a several ships came and went each day. He wandered around the commercial ring, looking somewhat aimless, and his throughts traveled ... wondering why on earth Starfleet saw fit to transfer him to an SSF vessel. It was certainly a surprise. One day, he's doing regular padd-pushing work on the Archer, and the next thing he knows, he's in the infirmary of starbase 369. From there, he's told that he was transferred. No consultation, no choice, no word, other than that he's to report to Starbase Kinsi, located in one of the farthest backwater stations in Federation space, and wait for orders. He pressed, and eventually learned that the ship he was to be transferred to was an SSF vessel, information that simultaneously stunned, excited and terrified him. Other than that, however, he didn't know when the vessel would arrive, which vessel it would be, or who he was to report to. Andy made his way to one of the bars and chuckled to himself as he helped himself to a small table near the bar. Leave it to the SSF to keep everything secret ... not even allowing new crew to know what their assignment is. He looked around the place, subtley checking out the attractive women, and trying to fix some names to faces that he'd come to know in the past few days. Well, hopefully things won't take terribly long, he thought. Lt Andersen Foster Operations Officer USS Chimera <<OOC: Anyone currently stuck on the station ... feel free to bump into me. Might as well pass the time getting to know each other while we're waiting>> :) _________________________________________________________________ Is your PC infected?
