=/\= Bridge =/\= ~ Athena took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. She could sense urgency around her and tension. She seemed to be sensing death as well and it reminded her of the scream she heard a bit ago. ~ Rebecca finally received some more beeps. She looked up at Reese, "Good news; help's on the way." Reese looked up from what he was doing and gave her a small tight smile. He punched at a few more buttons moved to another panel and moved some things around and came back to the console where he was before. He looked up and with a slightly hopeful voice said, "I think I can transmit to other ships." He tapped a couple of buttons and tapped a message, "Chimera to the Gott," he paused to wait for a response. When there was none he tried another message, "Chimera to any other ship, mayday." Reese waited again but after a couple of minutes without a response; he hit the console and swore, "Damn!" Rebecca was getting another incoming message asking about the XO. She pondered how to answer and then decided to send <last seen heading to engineering.> Both Reese and Rebecca were lost in what they were doing and didn't notice the arrival of the AMO. Scott crawled out of the Jefferies tube onto the corridor leading to the Bridge. He bent forward then leaned back to ease the ache in his muscles. His fast breathing slowed to normal as he looked to his left where the door to the Bridge was partly open. The red alert lights flashed here, a fact that caused him wry amusement, for if there was one thing Chimera could do without now, when so many things weren't working at all, it was the need to know there was an alert. Straightening up he walked towards his goal, found the door wouldnt open further and squeezed through, arriving into a scene resembling many he had seen on his way through the ship. His first thought was to find Commander Guzman but though there were a few people moving about, none of them was the man he wanted to see. "AMO Fisher" he said as he walked towards a couple working at a console. "Do you know where the XO is?" Rebecca gave a startled cry and Reese practically stood up out of his seat. "Damn," Reese said as he relaxed back into his seat. "Sorry I guess we're a bit on edge," He replied as he looked at the AMO. Rebecca finally came to her senses and responded, "The XO is on his way to engineering with Capt. Harker and Ens. Dexter." ~Athena felt chilled to the bone and concentrated on not visibly shivering. She sensed surprise and heard a scream and bit her lip in order not to react herself. She could hear the tones of different clicking and was more sure than ever that it was some form of communication. As the clicks increased in amount so did Athena's heart beat. ~ {Oh great..I missed him} "He's uninjured then?...." Scott enquired, thinking that he could set Rangis mind at rest on that score. "Anyone needing attention?" He looked around as he spoke and saw the body lying a little distance away, obviously dead. "You two ok?" he asked looking back at Rebecca with concern. Rebecca nodded to the last question as she answered the other two. "Cmdr. Guzman appeared to have only minor injuries but Lt. Wellington is unconcious and kind of......" She wanted to say dangerous but unpredictable was probably a better chioce of words, "unpredictable." "Unconcious?..." Frowning,Scott looked around quickly, spotting Athena at the same time Rebecca pointed her finger. Rebecca didn't respond to the look that Scott gave her but just pointed to where the counselor was laying. She turned her attention back to the messages coming through on the tricorder and relaying them to whomever was listening. "Cmdr. Guzman and his party are still working their way to engineering." Reese acknowledge Rebecca's updates with a nod as he muttered to himself about the circut he was trying to fix. Scott crossed the distance to Athena opening his med case as he did so. He knelt down beside her, his first thought that she wasnt unconcious as such. He took out the medical tricorder and had just activated it when the ship shuddered for a violent second ot two.Unsteadied, his hand slipped down and the instument touched the counselors neck. ~ Athena laid stilled and bit her the corner of her lip in an effort and calm her heart beat down. She could sense a being approaching her and she concentrated on relaxing all her features. She felt the cold of metal instrument against her skin and screamed, "NO!" She bolted upright and smacked away the tentacles that held the instrument. ~ Scott muttered a under his breath as the tricorder slithered across the floor. He scrambled to retrieve it, checking it wasnt damaged as he returned to the counselors side.He pushed back her hair, seeing the congealed blood on her face. The effect was startling. Athena laid in what appeared to be a calm and relaxed position. A few drops of blood ran down her chin from the corner of her mouth and a drying path of blood ran from her head down her cheek. The coolness of Scott's fingers made her body jump as she said no and began to struggle. He grabbed her hands in an effort to protect both himself and her, telling her in a steady and commanding voice to stay calm, that there was nothing to fear and that she was safe.It made not the slightest difference and Scott, deciding that he was dealing on something bordering hysteria, gritted his teeth against what he intended. Re;easing one of her hands, he used his own to slap her soundly on her left cheek.In the moment the struggling came to shocked halt, he took hold of her wrist and said. "Counselor..look at me...look.." and was relieved when he saw recognition as she met his eyes. Slowly releasing her, he said. "Sorry...short sharp shock was needed. You're safe and on the Bridge." Athena felt a smart sting cross her cheek and in the moment of confusion when what she thought was going on and what was actually going on became noticeably different; she fell deadly still. She heard a commanding voice asking her to do something. As she recognized it she opened her eyes to match the voice with its face. {Scott.} She missed most of what she heard next except for the part about being safe. She swallowed which was nearly impossible since her throat was so dry. She shook her head, "No one is safe," came out in a softly croaked whisper. She winced with the pain that shot through her head from shaking and reached up to touch her temple. Athena's fingers met with a sticking substance and she pulled them back down to look at them. Upon seeing the blood on her fingers and as a wave of pain mixed with nausea hit her, she gave a soft groan and her eyes fell closed. {Where...} Rangi had briefed the AMOs as to Athena's reaction to certain drugs so Scott knew what and what not to use. He took a few seconds to select the appropriate medication and to load it into a hypospray, thinking that to keep her calm would be the most sensible thing. ~ She could her some eerie clicking noises as she hid in her dark corner and hoped she wouldn't be found. As the clicking noises grew louder; Athena's heart rate increased and sounded as if it were an orchestra of drums beating in her ears. ~ The hypospray released the sedative and Scott, monitoring the results on a med tricorder, saw the racing heart beat slow to an almost normal level. Knowing it wasn't strictly best policy to sedate the most senior officer on the Bridge, Scott justified the action. The counselor obviously wasn't in any fit state to perform Bridge duties but then again..there were few to perform. Some information was coming in over the tricorder and Rebecca continued to pass it along. "Would you like me to let Dr. Summers know that you made it," she asked Scott as he worked on the Counselor. Glancing back over his shoulder Scott replied. "Do that..oh...and if you haven't already, tell her the XO is on his way to engineering." He checked Athena's condition, and happy that she was calmer, stood up and moved over to another of the skeleton crew ready to give treatment. =/\= End Log =/\= Lt.
