====== Deck 11, Main Engineering ===== After an another half an hour struggle Harker, Dexter and Shane arrived at deck 11 - into Main Engineering. On theor way they've noticed that the lower decks were less damaged then the upper ones. Not that they were unharmed at all ... but the lower they've got the less signs of destruction they have encountered. Whole sections seemed to be almost all right, with only the more sensible systems like power distribution, ODN relays, Comm systems off line or destroyed. What was alike here then upwards was teh amount of fires that broke out and roamed around sections and decks. Estinguished by now, but they've done a lot of damage and with the enviromental and life support systems on a very low efficiency several sections were still filled with smoke and heavy air. Arriving in Main Engineering, Shane learned that the Acting CEO LtJg. Rodgers was not present. He was cut off in some other part of the ship and a rescue team was already send to his aid. A better news was the fact that the warp core was still relatively functional. Support and relay systems for the core were damaged or destroyed and therefore it was not possible to use warp energy at the moment, but maybe the engineers will find a way to tap the core and become some more energy for use then just the backup energy sources. Another nice fact was that the tricoder-communication network was estrablished on every deck by now and there was no section on the ship that had no contact with the rest. Like expected, Shane issued a row of orders within 10 minutes of arriving at the Main Engineering. He ordered all remaining ODA members to roam the ship and search for trapped and injured crew, he ordered Astrometrics to find more about the X!Chi traces in this time frame and Engineering to start with as many repairs as possible. Medical was going very well with teams deploying all around the ship ... Bridge, Astrometrics, Engineering. Shane's only order to Rangi (and he was VERY glad that she was all right) was to keep treating the wounded and to cooperate with engineering in keeping the holodeck's life support systems as efficient as possible. ====== CEO's room ====== Shane declared the Engineering as the new ship's HQ and ordered to evacuate the bridge and decks 2 to 5. Now he was sitting in the CEO's office behind the CEO's desk and tried to read all the messages send through the tricoder network for the last half an hour. Engineering was keeping records of all messages and Shane had a PADD full of them in his hand. Science was quite busy and supplied him with several interesting informations. Since the ship's sensors were out of order for the moment (and most probabaly for ever) they have managed to deploy three sensor probes as an external sensor array. Quite a clever idea. The probes were of course not as efficient or powerfull as the Chimera's long range sensors, but for the moment it was better then nothing. The disturbing news was that they have triangulated the time period the Chimera was just now in. Quite unbelievable ... they were 10.000 years in the past. Imagining that the Federations's history was not even half a millenium and the whole mankind's recorded history some 5.000 years ... it was quite a jump to past. No wonder that they have found no traces of any fleet instalation in this region of space ... there was no federation existant ... not even a developed civilisation on Earth! In this time period there was no spinward march in the common sense existant as well. Sure, the stars and planets were there, but not the matter enviroment that created the march and all the naturally occuring phenomenons inside the march. An grievoud idea struck Shane's head: {When there's no march here, then there are no temporal anomalies here as well. And no anomalies mean NO way home as well!}. Another bad news was the fact the their scans found no traces of the X!Chi in the surrounding space. Objects that they've encountered before and that they believed are the X!Chi eggs were nowhere to detect. Their last know course was towards a certain star system not far from the Chimera's present coordinates. Since there were no eggs to find in the surrounding space, Science assumes they have already landed on one of the planets in the system. Now they were trying to find out on what planet. Among the good news was a report that the USS Gott was slowly flying towards the Chimera. Till now they have had no luck in establishing a communication with the Gott but they were still trying. There was still a terrible chance that they X!Chi on board the Gott defeated the ODA teams and they were now coming to finish the Chimera off, but Shane prayed that it wasnt that way. He strongly hoped for the General to be sitting on the Gott's bridge and hurrying to aid his own ship. Shane looked not forward to explain to Bretam what happened and why is his ship's in ruin, but considering all the troubles and dangers that were behind them already, it was just a minor issue. Bretam will most probabaly yell on him and maybe thrown him in brig (when there will be any functional) but saving all the remaining crew was that worth. Shane leaned in the chair and tryied to rest a bit. It was long since he had a decent portion of rest, not speaking of sleep. None since he returned in this time period and on the alternate Chimera not much as well. Now all he could do was to wait for the crew to do their work.
