Athena sat in her chair in the briefing room listening to the reports but
said nothing. Other than the small smile she tried to give Shane she kept
her expression neutral. She noted the briefest bit of surprise when the
Colonel's gaze fell on hers, but neither gave anything away. Athena could
sense the general feeling in the room as the meeting continued on and
suggestions for what to do next was being presented.
As the meeting came to an end and the new directives had been given Athena
stood by the door and watched as everyone began to move into action. She
waited to try and catch a word with Shane but that was not to be as Keylor
demands his attention and Rangi was waiting to speak with him as well. As
Rangi looked her way Athena looked away and left the room. Her marine
escort was waiting for her and she gave him a slight nod as she walked
passed him and onto the turbolift. The marine followed her in silence as he
silently appreciated the graceful moves of the counselor.

Athena smiled at her marine escort as she walked through the door. An
amused expression crossed her face as the door slide shut on the marine's
return smile. She slipped off her shoes and sat down on the sofa tucking
her leg up underneath her. She wondered how long it would be before Colonel
Betram cornered her for a talk. She also wondered if the news of Rob to
Rangi would be best handle by her, Rangi's father or Shane.
Athena's thoughts let her drift off to happier times with Rob. Her mind had
been drifting for a few minutes and then Athena snapped out of her revere
and thought about the medical reports that she had skimmed through during
the briefing. {Maybe a stop at sickbay is in order.}
For her own amusement Athena slipped her shoes back on and went through the
door adjoining her quarters and her office. She peeked outside the office
door and saw the escort that Shane had left posted to her to help keep her
from wondering away. She smiled stepped out of the office door and took the
couple of steps that brought her up behind the marine and tapped him on the
shoulder.
"Ready to go," she asked innocently as a colorful array of feelings ran over
the marines face.
Regaining his composure the marine said, "I'd be more careful, If I were you
counselor," and then motioned for her to lead the way.
She smiled slyly and said, "I'll try to remember that." Athena took several
steps down the hall and then said, "But please, be sure to tell the XO how
cooperative I've been." The two remained silent the rest of the way to
sickbay.
