=== Shuttle outside of the Chimera=== After transporting Shane back to the engineering section, Keylor worked a bit with Stephens to get the comm. signal cleaned up. It took some time, about 45 minutes by his recollection, but Stephens had a tough time narrowing the signal so it would be strong enough to penetrate the ships hull, and thus be of some use. After that Ra'nar and Keylor had scanned the chimera to see if they could find the temporary sickbay that Dr Summers had most likely created. After some time they had discovered it location and the number of weak or weakened life signs there, Keylor counted 43. Ra'nar had wanted Keylor to transport him to deck 5 near his quarters because of supplies that he remembered storing in his quarters. They had scanned the area but the amount of damage to eps conduits and the intense electrical activity made it difficult to find a good place to beam him down there. So instead Keylor suggested that Ra'nar start with Dr Summers in the temporary sick bay, and then proceed there, if possible, to gather more supplies that might be in the ship. Now it had been the better part of 10 minutes since Keylor beamed Ra'nar down to the chimera. Keylor had dozed off. With the intense beep of a sensor alert, Keylor jolted in his seat. "wha... OUCH!" he exclaimed as hi tried to sit upright quickly. Though Ra'nar had mended the bone, and repaired the skin, he was still sore and the muscle in his shoulder ached with every slight movement. After a second of writhing in pain, Keylor looked over the consol in front of him to find the source of the alert. He tapped on the consol and frantically searched the sensor logs for the reason of the rude awakening. Soon he found the event, a severely puzzled look came over his face as he made sense of the readings. {Explosion? On the GOTT!!!!} he though as he made sense of the data. "Shi...} he started to exclaim, exhibiting the curses he had picked up form the humans. He turned in the chair and slowly stood to his feet. Still wincing form the pain, he managed to stand an take the few short steps to the co-pilots chair. Sitting down as gingerly as he could he eased himself down in to the chair and then swiveled around to reach the sensor controls. Once in position, Keylor quickly went to work and pulled up the long range sensors. He then triained the array and scanned the chimera. After a minute he started to see what he feared, damabe to the saucer section of the Gott. "What, in the name of the prophets has happened." He muttered to himself. Narrowing the scan beam he recorded a more detailed scan of the ship. He was not happy. {A 3 meter fracture thee deck high! What else can go wrong?} he though as the data of an apparent explosion seemed to have torn through the only lifeboat the Chimera crew had left. {I hope nothing vital was damaged. If that ship is anything like I think it might be, if we damage its '"special" equipment, we might never get home.} he though. He swiveled back to the main console in front of him and opened a ship to ship hail . "Lieutenant Foster, do you read me?" he called out. A second later Andersen called back. "Yes sir. I read you clear. Any luck with the chimera?" he asked with a bit of wanting in his voice. "Yes and no. Lieutenant. The chimer is pretty bad off, but I should be able to bring a engineering team to you soon to help with the restart." He answered. "Good. " Andersen said plainly and short. "Because we are still 4 hours away and reserve power is draining fast." He replied now with a bit of annoyance. Keylor interjected before Andersen could reply. "I noticed an explosion, there appeared to be a rather large opening in the saucer section. I take it emergency force fields are draining the reserves?" he asked. There was a slight pause and then Andersen replied. "Yes sir among other things. Earlier a main eps conduit in one of the cargo bays overloaded, that was the first big drain, Then when the explosion happened , some where around the arboretum, we took another big hit. We are down to 20 reserves and draining fast" he replied not sounding a bit please. "What case these events lieutenant? Structural failure?" Keylor wondered if the Gott was in worse shape and they were doomed to die in the past. Anderson soon replied, his voice still hinting at his annoyance. "I thought that as well sir. But when I reviewed the sensor logs, and the power utilization log of the eps conduit explosion, I found that there was a manual override near the junction where the explosion. Also The internal sensors picked up Photonic and ion energy bursts right before the breach, in the arboretum. I think they were standard issue grenades sir. But I could be wrong, I have not analyzed the logs completely yet." Andersen replied. {Manual override to cause the eps overload? Concentrated ionic and photonic energy???" he thought as he wondered about the events. He then responded. "Lieutenant? Where is Lieutenant Scott and his team?" he asked wondering if his hunch was right. There was a pause in the conversation. Keylor waited patiently as he continued to scan the area of the hull to get an idea of the structural integrity of the ship. Soon Andersen replied. "Deck four movinf away form the arboretum sir." Andersen said with a bit of finality and understanding in his voice. Keylor bowed his head and moaned to himself {Man if it aint one thing its another.} he though. Lifting his head, he looked a the sensor log, "Ok Lieutenant. Try your best at keeping things afloat. "he said stopping abruptly. A thought passed though his mind, and though he was not an engineer, he hoped it would be something useful to Andersen and Adian lynch. "Idea. Could you use a slightly damaged Shuttle to generate enough power to keep things going until you can get the core on line?" he asked "Sir?" Andersen replied. "A shuttle lieutenant." He paused. "In a shuttle bay is the runabout class shuttle I piloted here. Though the hull leaks, and the shuttle bay is open to space, I believe the powercells and the generator are still functional. I doubt it can power the entire ship, but may be you can find a way to supliment your dwindling power ." he said hoping the suggestion had merit. "We will see sir." Andersen replied curlty and apparently not likening any thing of the situation. "Very well lieutenant, just an Idea. Ok can you patch me through to Scotts comm. badge. I will send you the identifier to add to the ship[s database." He said. Tapping on the console he looked up the comm. badge id of Lieutenant Scott and sent it to Andersen. A second later Andersen Signaled that the patch from shuttle to ship to badge was ready. Keylor now frowned as he prepared to advise the net officer to the ship. He knew that if they were going to get out of this, return to their time line, and survive the trip, they needed as much of the Gott in tack and undamaged. But if some one was going around and recklessly damaging things, it might not be possible. Keylor took a deep breath, "Bretam to Scott." He barked. "Scott here." Came the reply. Keylor took another breath. He wanted to scream at Scott, but figured the guy was just not informed of the situation. So instead he tried to gather his emotions and succinctly fill him in. "Scott! I see that we had an explosion near the arboritum, not far from where you are now. I can only guess that some how you were involved." He said trying to stay calm but not keeping the tension in his voice down. " Be advised that the Chimera is heavily damaged and is not likely to undertakes a voyage home. Also be advised we are in the distant past and the Gott is probably the only thing that will get us home. Also I might remind you that one of the mission objective was to retake the Gott and return her to federation space. I need you to take the utmost care in clearing this ship, as to NOT" he emphasized "cause damage. I would like it to be in the best shape possible. " he said waiting for the reply. ===End log=== BGen Bretam Keylor
