Chimera= “...Commander Guzman said for you to select an experienced engineering team to go over to the Gott,” the petty officer said. “Experienced, huh,” Rick said. “Well, considering how few enigneers we have left, I suppose that would have to include me.” “He also said he needed a report in an hour on that can be fixed in the next eight hours,” the petty officer said. "Great," Rick said, now realizing that he needed to see things for himself on the Gott. Rick looked over at Stephens, who had returned from repairing the comm system. “Ensign, from what Mr. Gomez has said, in the future, or alternate future, you are the Chief Engineer of the Chimera,” Rick said as Stephens nodded. “So, I’m going to leave you in charge here while I lead a team over on the Gott. I’d like to have you over there with me, but I need someone here that knows how to run things.” “Yes, sir,” Stephens said. “Keep me apprised on everything here,” Rick said as Stephens nodded. Rick gathered several engineers, the only ones he could afford to pull away from the Chimera, including two recently released from sickbay. They then grabbed their tools of the trade and headed for one of the transporter rooms. In a matter of moments, they were on board the Gott, in that’s ships main engineering section. There were a lot of physical differences between the Chimera’s engineering section and that of the Gott. But, in all reality, they were pretty much the same when it came right down to it. Rick issued out orders to his people as they went right to work. Rick had taken Jo Weathersby Number 1 while leaving her duplicate on the Chimera. “This ship’s a mess,” Weathersby said. “Yeah, but the Chimera isn’t in much better shape,” Rick said. “Besides, I’ve never been on a Nova-class starship. This should prove to be interesting.” “Well, don’t take too much time looking around,” Weathersby said. “The XO wants that report in 20 minutes.” “Yeah,” Rick said, realizing that he now had two wrecked ships to deal with. “Lets get to work.” 18 minutes later ... +tap+ “Rodgers to engineering teams, report.” Rick listened to the others explain what was wrong with the Gott. Surprisingly, in many ways, it was in better shape than the Chimera. But, there were also areas that may never be repaired. +tap+ “Okay, people,” Rick said. “Lets work on that we can get fixed in the next few hours.” +tap+ “Rodgers to Commander Guzman,” Rick continued, ready to give his report to the XO.
