===Bridge, USS Gott=== "Acting Captains log, stardate.. Some time in the past, 10,000 years roughly, USS Gott Brigadier General Bretam Keylor reporting. The USS chimera had found the Gott and proceeded to retake the ship form the X'chi occupants. By some grand design still unknown to us, the X'chi had taken advantage of the research on the USS Gott and opened a temporal vortex to the past , taking the USS Gott and the USS Chimera along for the ride. The USS got made it though relatively undamaged, and surprising so for an aging science vessel. The Chimer, however, was less fortunate. I had a chance to view the damage up close in a shuttle and I fear she will not make the trip back. With a badly damaged Nacell and many hull breachs, structural integrity is surely damaged. After arriving , We were able to ascertain that the X'chi had released spores, or eggs in to space. I am not sure how they survived, but the eggs had landed on a near by planet. And appear to still be viable and should hatch before too long. Our only assumption is that the X'chi had delivered the eggs to the past in order to colonize this part of the universe in order to develop to be the dominant species. Our boarding party met with resistance from the X'chi on board. After several mishaps, we were able to achieve tactical advantage and clear the ship of X'chi, but not before loosing several crew. Also during our assault and subsequent cleansing of the ship we have found several former Gott crew whom apparently wer in a stasis chamber undisturbed by the X'chi. I don't think the X'chi had planned to take the USS Gott through to the past. After taking control of the engineering section, the assault team discovered that the warp core had been powered down several days before our arrival. Over the past several hours we have been making repairs to the Gott and preparing to bring her warp core on line. If we are successful, we will then turn our attention to eliminating the X'chi incursion in to the past, removing all trace of our presence here and returning to our time line." Keylor looked back over to Lieutenant Foster. "Computer end recording." He said quietly. Nodding to Andersen he said, "Encrypt that recording and then load it in to the emergency beacons memory. Should we fail to return, we would want to leave some trace of what happened to us that only SSF command could decrypt." He said looking solmn. he started to glace forward. "Oh and include a list of the crew, Chimera and Gott, just in case." It had been over four hours since the engineering team had boarded the Gott. In that time Lieutenant Scott had finished clearing the ship of the 6 foot tall insects and had started a second sweep for any thing else that could possibly be a danger to them. Lieutenant Foster had since moved up to the Bridge. Though he had worked valiantly down in the basement, he was more like a fish out of water once the engineers arrived to save the day. And though his preparations were helpful, they simply pushed him out of the way with only a thanks. Keylor reached back and rubbed his neck, He was growing impatient and wanted to start relief efforts on the Chimera. Though the engineers there, as few as they were, had halted any further degradation of life support or critical failure of the hull, they could not hold out for ever. Not to mention that there were several injured crew, scattered about the ship, with no easy way to get to the temporary sickbay. But that was the least of his troubles. The bigger problem were the X'chi on the planet. That was the biggest problem, the one that if they did not solve, nothing else would matter. It was clear to him what they had to do, above all else, they had to remove the fun wanted entities to this time line and completely. If not, there probably would not even be a shred of reality for them to return to, at least not the reality they knew. He had read the reports form the chief science officer, and the XO's comments. And though it pained him to think of deliberately destroying the first ship he had the privilege to command, he could see no other way. With damaged ships, dwindling supplies and limited firepower, they needed to eradicate the X'chi spores all at once. There needed to be finality to their actions, and the plan of using the Chimera, the quantum torpedoes and the warp core was certainly that. Lost in thought, Keylor did not hear Andersen call out to him the first time. "Sir? SIR, they are ready." Andersen said form behind the operations console. Keylor snapped back t reality, out of thought and looked over to Andersen with a slight lost look. "Oh." He said simply and stood up from the chair. Tugging at his still torn tunic, he stepped towards the view screen. "Is the shuttle a safe distance?" he said. HE knew that if there was some sort of problem, some sort of sabotage from the X'chi, a well placed power cell or stress fracture of the matter anti matter chamber, the warp core could explode. Truly the start up of a core was not something to be taken lightly. "Aye sir. They are holding near the chimer until we signal them." Andersen responded sounding tired. Keylor looked back and nodded. "Proceed." Was his only reply. Not wanting to look hawkish, he faced back to the view screen and waited as Andersen informed the Acting Chief engineer to proceed. Within minutes the dimming lights of the Bridge flickered as the engineers worked their magic. Though, it was surprisingly quiet. Oddly enough Keylor had never been on a starship when they were powering up the warp core. He always was away when they powered up the core. The event struck him funny because on the bridge, there was no sound, just the flicker of lights as the core powered up and replaced the failing emergency power. Minutes seemed like hours. His impatience t get on with the inevitable ate away at his patience like maggots on a rotting carcass. But he knew he had to appear calm, and patient and held himself still, as not to alarm any one. Finally after some time Andersen spoke out. "That is it sir. We have power." He chimed in in a ome what elated tone. Keylro looked back and smiled. "All of it? Impulse, Transporters? Sensors? Containment fields?" he asked like some school boy trying not to let out he was glad. Andersne nodded, "Aye sir. Looks so. Ther are a few places we had to rerout power because of eps conduit preaches, and a good portion of deck 4 and 3 are isolated by containment fields due to the hull breach, but We are mor than capable of moving towards the Chimera again." He said in a professional manner." Keylor looke dback forward and then back at the helm console. In a graceful move, he sit down as wuickly as he could and then started tapping away. "Good.. Good." eh said plotting a course." As he prepared to mve the Gott in closer to the Chimera, he hesitated for a second , as if to wait for himself to tell him to engage the impulse engines. But the hesitation was brief and soon the ship was on its way. Looking back at Andersen he remarked. "Ok we should be there in an hour. First thing I want to do is to transport the injured aboard. Contact Dr summers though the jerry rigged comm. patch through the shuttles and let her know she and those around here will be the first to transport over. " He said and looked back to the view screen. Whipping his head back he added before Andersen could respond. "Oh and get one of those engineers in to the transporter room. We need to have some precision transporting done since we need to move them directly to the sickbay. Have Ensign Rodgers assess the ship and what we need to do to take the ship through another temporal vortex." Andersen nodded and started to reply, Keylor interrupted again. "Notify the Xo that will be there soon. Inform him of the relief efforts of the injured being beamed over first. Also let him know to proceed with the plan to eliminate the X'chi. Then beam him aboard, as well as the chief science officer. We need to get working on a way to get home. Expect to have requests for power and sensors once they have settled in." Keylor looked back at the view screen. Andersen glared at the general. Once assured he was done he answered, "Aye sir. Anything else?" he said quietly and with a bit of sarcasm. Keylor looked back once again, "Oh yes and start taking inventory of the accommodations and supplies. We will have to house everyone over here and they will start asking for quarters. We don't want any more chaos than we need once everyone starts to come aboard and get comfortable." Keylor paused and then continued. "Oh and have. what is his name?" he muttered to himself. "Yes, Corporal Cortez. Have him start moving the injured in engineering to sickbay. Once the doctor arrives have him beam over to the chimera and start looking at the Quantum torpedoes over there. I believe he will be of some use to them in their preparations." Keylor said and then returned to his console. He did not see the somewhat annoyed look that Andersen gave as he replied in an tired tone, "Aye sir." ===End log=== Bgen Bretam Keylor <<OOC: ok to summarize it has been over 4 hours since Bretam talked to Shane. You may assume that the Gott makes it safely over to the chimera, and starts beaming people aboard. If you have question about assignments email the command team. and for those on the GOTT please add the [USS Gott] in fornt of the stardate in your subject heading so we can track where everyone is. This will only be until we reach a starbase for R&R>>
