===========Sickbay USS Gott============ "That should do it LT." stated one of the attending nurses, as she healed Hawks burn. He had burned himself on the arm repairing a minor plasma conduit crack near the Gott's main engineering dept. Hawk enjoyed a quit existence in chimera's engineering department for better than a year now with little issue. Of course there was the occasional ODA team running through yelling like maniacs or an attack from this ship or that. Pretty standard as he regarded life on a Starfleet vessel, now in his third year of service. But lately this X'chi business had Hawk wondering what in the hell was really going on. He had abandoned ship and helped set up here on the Gott as they were attacked from within the ship. He truly wondered if this was the "last mission" he was gonna see. He made his way out of sickbay after hearing the CMO and an ODA member talk about how bad the X'chi wounds could be. Kill you if your even wounded sounded like a wonderful way to go. And he thought that capturing one would be well in good for a cure but how do you "capture" something that is damn near impossible to kill and can kill with just a small wound. The thoughts continued to roll through his head as he made his way back to his worksite near main engineering. He did need to finish the repair after all. Hawk wasn't surprised to find the area almost empty as either crew were injured or pulled else were to help with the countless "important" tasks needing done right now. Hawk rounded the last bend in the corridor before he entered engineering when he heard a loud crash just a couple meters behind him. "What the He...." was all Hawk got out before he noticed that he had an unfriendly guest just behind him. IT looked VERY upset and somewhat hungry for engineering yellow. At first the only thought in Hawks head, (as he ran his butt off) was, were did this thing come from I thought they were held up in hydroponics bay or something. But that quickly turned to how to deal with the fact he is on my rear and gaining. He made his way through engineering faster than any oda squad ever had to his memory and still it was gaining. He made a fast decision to head for the plasma conduit repair he just made. He pulled his tricorder from his hip and started tapping. His only chance was the fact that the crack repair was flush with a corridor force field arch. He started the protocol to initiate the force field in that section and hoped that he could out pace the bug till then. He was hit from behind just as he passed the archway and fell forward. He hit the last key to initiate the field before he hit the ground. Hawk hit the ground and heard some pretty unique sounds from just behind him. The fact that Hawk didn't finish the repair initially and was returning to do just that may have saved his life. He started the force field and the barely "plugged" leak vented into the energy field. Hawk felt the heat and wondered if he had just blown up part of the ship Instead he looked back and was relieved to see the X'chi laying unconscious on the other side of the barrier. The barrier was basically a plasma charged wall that was hot as Hades but not much more. Hawk noted the fact that the x'chi was still moving a little and quickly erected a field on the other side of it. Hawk tapped his comm badge and made contact with Lt Cmdr Summers. "LT Versey here." "Yes LT, Is there something I can help you with" Rangi replied somewhat puzzled "Ma'am you said you needed a live X'chi" "Yes I did LT, what about it" Rangi said a little more inquisitively. "I believe I have one for you starboard side of main engineering." Hawk said as he noted the adrenaline leave his bloodstream. He sat down and got ready to contact ODA. "Why did you contact me and not oda first Mr. Versey?"
