Ra’nar waited by the consol as it scanned the bio film and ran the results
though the ships database. Usually a search would only have taken second due
the mass amount of data that every Federation Starship holds, But the search
for the X’chi biofilm did not take seconds, it seemed to take quite a while
indeed. But after a few minutes of searching though the large database the
computer recognise that it was X’chi DNA and came up with a number of items
on file. Many were just basic stuff, a CSO explaining who the X’chi populate
other planets when their communities intelligence reaches a certain size.
Another was written by a Commander at Starfleet academy cataloguing all
confrontation between the X’chi and faces in the Alpha Quadrant, but as far
as Ra’nar could see nothing relating to what possible poison was on the bio
film, if there was any at all, either way ra’nar sure did not want to ingest
it.
It was only after ra’nar had looked thought these files that the Consol come
back into life a produced another file, marked ‘Starfleet medical Council ,
X’chi toxin.’ Below that there was a sub heading, ‘level four assess, not to
be circulated.’ Ra’nar was puzzled, “Level four? That is Chief Medical
Officer and above.” Ra’nar looked over to Rangi, “would you mind?” Commander
Summers tapped in the clearance code to open the document.

Starfleet Medical Council,
X’chi Toxin
Not to Be
Circulated!

reporting
1st stage findings
report
The study into the until recently unknown X’chi toxin has been most
fascinating in terms of the mere structure on the toxin. At first we had
trouble trying to find an antidote to the poison, it was only after
extensive research that we disovered that the is no antidote to the Posion.
What an X’chi delivers to anyone unlucky enough to be injured by the X’chi
is not a Poison at all but rafter a virus that attacks and breaks down the
DNA structure of whatever creature it has injured. We have experimented with
various treatment and have discovered that the best way to tackle the virus
is by replicating it and injecting administer it with antibody’s that have
all ready identified the virus, much like inoculations of the late 20th
century. However due to the fact that the virus has the ability to mutate it
is advisable that it is administered at least 24 hours before expected
contact with the X’chi and one should be administered three hours after the
first until contact is made. This should allow for maximum protection. It
the unfortunate event that somebody is injured with having the inoculations
one must be administered as soon as possible after the injury as the chances
of survival dramatically decease as time goes on.
This is the end on are first findings, we expect to update the medical
council with the next two week’s with more substantial information.
End Report.

Ra’nar turned to Rangi with a disgusted look on his face, “why did they not
inform us of that before we went into combat, I could have saved lives
today!” With that ra’nar smashed his fist into the screen of the consol
cracking it down the left hand side and cutting his hand for the second
knuckle. After his moment of rage he managed to think a little clearly, “You
know, in my experience the only reason you would not inform a someone of
this information is if they were not expected to survive contact with the
X’chi.”
