=/\= Starbase 485 - Promenade=/\= Jason had been on the station for only a few hours and was begining to feel bored. Having no ship to report to and no idea where any of the Former Chimera crew were he had decided to browse the shops. Jason glanced up from the shop window and looked around a strange feeling as if he was being watched. He shook his head {You're being paranoid} He thought to himself as he moved on towards the next shop, which turned out not to be a shop but a small old English bar. Jason smiled and stepped inside The place was old fashioned looking with wooden panelling on the walls and a traditional wooden bar, The place reminded him of O'Neils a pub he had spent many Fridays nights wooing the women with his drunken dancing. He walked over to the wooden bar and looked at the Barman or thing "Excuse me what Largers do you have?" he asked The bar 'thing' looked up "Only the best Sir we sell Fosters, Carling, Stella.... all old English beers" Jason smiled "Great I'll have a pint of your finest Stella please buddy" Jason looked around and spotted a woman enter but he didn't pay her much attention as the barkeeper returned with his pint. Lucy had spent most of the afternoon shopping. Although she had to replace all of her belongings, her heart hadnt really been in it so she carried only two modest bags with her. She wandered along, looking into windows, stopping at some to look at the displays. Her attention had been on the window and not fully on where she was going so, carelessly, she had walked into someone who was leaving a shop. "Oh!..sorry.." she'd said, stepping back smartly. "No problem" the man had replied, giving her a friendly grin and Lucy had a huge shock. She stood staring after the tall figure who had turned and walked away and as his figure disappeared into the crowd, she had sprung to action and hurried after him, though following at a distance. She stopped when he did, appearing to be one of many shoppers should he look her way. When he walked on, so did she. He disappeared into a small bar and Lucy stood outside uncertain what to do. {Should I go in? ..or not} The last time she had seen his face it had been in a holograph attached to a letter. She hesitated a few seconds more, then curiosity got the better of her and she stepped inside. Jason took the glass from the Barkeeper and moved towards a table pulling out a Padd he accessed his personal file system and opened the file labeled Katana B Project. Since finding out the Chimera's survivors were being posted to a Katana B ship Jason has contacted the Design team and made a request. The specs were of course still top secret but being on the design team does help slightly. Jason glanced up towards the bar and noticed the same woman from earlier {{Is she staring??}} he asked himself before going back to his padd. Lucy stood at the corner of the bar, gripping her shopping bags tightly and biting her lip, deep in thought. {It IS him...its definately him...where's he come from?...would he know me if I went across?} "Lady do you want a drink or not!" The barmans loud voice cut through her daydream causing Lucy to turn her head sharply. "This is a bar...people drink in here." he informed her. Lucy glanced back to Jason and saw he was looking in her direction. Her nerve failed. "No I dont want anything." she said hastily and turned away towards the door. A hand grabbed hold of her arm. "I can buy you a drink." Lucy frowned at the hand and looked into the leering face of an engineer she recognised but whose name she couldnt remember. She pulled her arm free and not listening to his repeated offer and other comments, beat a hasty path to the door and ran outside. She walked swiftly away, looking straight ahead,the bags swinging at he side. Then slowed her steps , feeling hot, bothered and foolish and wishing she had never gone inside. Jason watched as the woman left the bar and then a few seconds later as the Engineer started after her. Jason stood not liking the look of things and heading after them both as he exited he looked left and right and spotted the Engineer rounding a corner and Jason started after him. As Jason neared the corner he could hear a womans voice telling someone to go away and leave her alone. The man wasnt listening and attemted to put his arm around her shoulders. The smell of his breath made lucys stomach heave and she pulled away from him. "Leave me 'alone!" she insisted and when he grabbed her arm again, she brought her free hand hard against his face giving him a stinging slap across his cheek. Jason stepped round to find the Engineer had her cornered and saw insisting on something "Crewman" Jason yelled in his best Drill Sargents voice "I believe the Lady told you to leave her alone, I would recomend you leave and sleep it off" He stepped closer but not to close Lucy recognised Jason at once and her face flamed in embarrassment that he should be involved when she had wanted to get as far away as possible from him. The Engineer turned and squinted at Jason as if trying to work out who he was "Whats it to you" He spat out clearly having had way to much to drink Jason smiled slightly "Your drunk Crewman now go home before you do something you later regret" Jason spoke slowly and clearly before moving past the Engineer towards Lucy as he passed the Engineer lunged for Jason Jason moved with practised ease moving to the right away from the engineer taking hold of the man forearm and twisting it behind the mans back forcing him to the floor "I told you to go home" he said "Now if I let you go will you be a good boy?" Jason asked The engineer half nodded and grunted a muffled yes and Jason let go The Engineer got to his feet and back off before turning and running away. Jason turned to Lucy "Are you ok ??" He asked Lucy, concentrating more on Jason than on the engineer, was caught off guard when he turned to her. "Yes...yes yes I am thankyou." she said, sounding as flustered as she looked. " She swallowed, pushed back her hair and tried a smile. "Thankyou..I appreciate your time..I mean your trouble..your help." she closed her eyes and looked away not believing she could sound so stupid. She turned back to him and gave a smile that was much more like her usual one. "Thankyou." she said simply. She bent to retrieve her shopping and straightened up. Jason smiled and began to help her with her bags "No Problem" he said "I'm Jason by the way. Jason Stephens of the USS Chimera" {I know that!} she told herself...{this is like deja vu...} " and I'm Lucy." she told him "Lucy Fleming..a nurse..on the Chimera." She accepted her bag that he held out and waited to see the reaction, if any, her introduction raised. Jason smiled and looked at her "Well since I'm joining the Chimera and so far your the only person I know" He leaned back slightly "Maybe you would like to join me for dinner this evening?" he asked Lucy stared at him and in her mind she saw again the holograph of the three of them..he.. her and a baby daughter. She ran the words of his letter through her mind..the affection..the deep feelings that he had written there. When his expression changed to one of uncertainty, she realized some time had passed between his question and her answer. She blinked and smiled at him. "Thankyou for the invitation." she said " but I have lots to do..and..." she took a half step back. " But another time certainly. Yes..I'd like to" Jason smiled and nodded " Great well I better give you my Mobile number" he replied reaching for his pocket only to remember its was 2405 and Mobiles phones weren't in use these days "Sorry.. I get muddled up sometimes I keep forgetting its 2405 not 1999 anymore" he explained slightly looking distintly uncomfortable. "Mobile phone?...1999?..sorry...I dont follow you." she replied, though knowing that she did...at least to some extent. Jason smiled "Well i was born over 400 years ago" He started "But its a long story... I'll tell you over dinner" He said Lucy nodded with interest but she had a feeling it was something to do with time travel "Ok.. I'd like to hear it" She said offering her hand but hesitantly "I have to be going now...It was nice to meet you Jason" She smiled Jason smiled in return "The Pleasure was mine" He said taking her hand "I'll see you on the chimera then" He said Lucy smiled "Yes on the Chimera...Bye" She turned and walked away heading back to her quarters as she did so she glanced back at Jason who had just started to turn away heading back to the bar.
