***** USS Chimera – A * Sickbay ***** Ra’nar looked around, {So this is it, my new base of operations.} Was Ra’nar’s first thought as he looked around the brand new sickbay, his second thought was, {Hell, it’s big.} Ra’nar had been in the Intrepid class sickbay on the old Chimera and the Akria class sickbay from when he was with the 42nd Med-Evac, before joining SSF, both of those were only half the size of this one. As Ra’nar walked, he passed the intensive care units and the surgical bays, as he did so he stopped and looked around one. “Upgrades!” Ra’nar said out aloud to himself noticing the marked improvement on the recuperation systems. “They really have speared no expense here.” Said Ra’nar out loud again to himself, “I have got to stop talking to myself.” As Ra’nar turned he saw a Crewman in blue walking towards him with a Padd n his hand. “Sir.” Said the Crewman handing over the Padd. “Reports, updates, news and transfers.” Ra’nar took the Padd with a smile, “I sometimes wonder how they put so much information on such a small device.” Ra’nar started looking though the Padd, unaware that the crewman was still standing infront of him, seemingly wanting for something. The Crewman laughed, “Can’t say I have ever thought about that, sir.” “Stop calling me Sir! I work for living.” Said Ra’nar in an annoyed tone. He was still woundering my this man was infront of him. “My names is Ra’nar, failing that, Warrant Officer or Doctor.” “Aye, si… Doctor, I am Torin Jamar. Your assistant.” Said the man shaking Ra’nars hand. “My new AMO?” Asked Ra’nar. He had herd that the new Doctor was a former marine, this ships old ODA commander even, but this man barely looked twenty. True it was difficult for Ra’nar to judge the age of humans, but there was no way that his man could have been an ODA Commander “No Doctor, your assistant, I am the ships Medical Yeoman.” Said the Young Crew man. Ra’nar let out a small laugh {I have a personal assistant, how things change.} After composing himself Ra’nar looked the Youngman up and down, “You do have some kind of medical training don’t you?” Asked Ra’nar hoping for a good answer. Clearly the expression on the mans face changed, “SSF field Medicine.” Ra’nar let out a small sigh, “okay, don’t worry about that for now. I will put in for your class 1 Paramedical training just as soon as I have got all my paper work in order.” Ra’nar could see Torin’s body language change, “Thank you.” With that Ra’nar gave a mock salute and the man started to walk towards the entrance, “By the way, Doctor. Something that is not in the Padd. The ships Surgeon General transferred over from the Lexington after as we left dock, just made it. She is getting herself in order and should be hear in some time today.” “Thank you, Torin.” Ra’nar watched as the crewman headed out then noticed something strange about him, it took Ra’nar another moment to figure out just what it was. “Torin!” shouted Ra’nar. The young man re-entered sickbay after hearing the call. “Go to one of the armouries and get yourself a phaser or two, keep at least one on you at all times, even if if is one of those small MK1s that you can put under your belt. The crewman was little surprised by the statement, “Do you now something I don’t Doctor?” Asked Torin with a smile on his face. Ra’nars expression was deadly serious, “I know a lot that you don’t. But that is beside the point. The Chimera is a combat vessel, a SSF Vessel. I need all my staff to be prepared, I am told that on the mission before last there was a fully armed Romulan beamed into sickbay by accident. Now, I personal like Romulans, but that does not mean I want them strolling around my sickbay armed to the sevens.” Ra’nar thought for a moment, {Armed to the Seven’s?
