Hello Chimera crew! An AWESOME week! Thats what I call a warm welcome for the new CO. Thank you a lot! I know that 50+ logs pace cant be maintained all week, but its still a shining example of what we are capable of. The last week we've finished the (rather short) R&R and head off towards our next mission. I think it will be an interesting one and I hope you will like it. Please join me and wellcome our newest crewmemeber - Kaitlin Michaels (Amily) who joined us a s ODA medical specialist. I have two remarks about logging. I've seen that you loved to log personal logs during the R&R. Please donf forget that even during a mission you can write off duty logs – fun logs – below the decks logs. Your character is in duty only 8 hours a day ... so make something from the other 16 hours! Another point is the balance between solo and joint logs. We all are different person with unique ideas of how to log. Some prefer solo logs, others joint logs. BOTH ways are the right way of course, but we encourage everyone to try the other way he's used to ... it will surelly show you an different angle of simming. Special commendations go to Hawk (7 logs), Rangi(6 logs), Cortez (4 logs), Terek (4 logs) and Jer (4 logs). My thanks go to Finn as well who took up the task of summarising the heap of logs. Do something nice and brave and earn some award! =========================================================================== =/\= MISSION SUMMARY/QUOTES OF THE WEEK =/\= =========================================================================== Summary (By Ninja Finn [on overdrive]) The Week starts of with Everyone enjoying the promotion party that Commander Guzman holds, with Corporal's Cortez and Ra'nar. Hawk has an unsettling moment when he sees that Guzman is installed as the new CO, especially after hitting on the new CO's Girlfriend. Guzman speaks to Colonel Cole who informs him of the command change and the fact that the new Chimera is waiting for them at Bragg. Shane is ordered to get his crew to Bragg ASAP for a new mission. Newly promoted Commander Summers has lunch with Lieutenant JG Fisher, and they discuss the previous nights party and the change of command. Scott tells her he's all for it, yet at the back of her mind her thoughts shift to Major Walsh leaving looking unsettled. Once Shane wakes up after the 24 hours, he speaks to Station Ops to get the crew a transport to the Chimera,they do so in the form of the Sovereign Class USS Thorn, and the whole crew jump station and hitch a ride to SSF HQ. Amongst the crew is Ensign Nejor Okrin, a familiar face to the Chimera yet returning as an Ensign, demoted for whatever reasons he's having trouble getting used to his recent loss of Rank. Cortez and Hawk meet off the cuff in the Lounge and decide to share a drink together, they talk about Hawks heroics on the Gott and also his recent drunken declarations of love towards people who are already taken. Later, Guzman reads aloud the whole of the chimera engineering specs, and the deck layout, just incase anyone is listening and wants to know! Meanwhile Lynch on the holodeck crys a lot about his lost 'toys' and the recent revelations shipwise and as a snidey laugh about how its pissed Walsh off. Oh, and Cortez, Ra'nar get together and do their ODA Commander proud by having a ruck at a bar, all the usual shenanigans soon ensue. LtJG Weranis enjoys the finest pleasure a man can, having clothes fitted before he joined the rest of the crew on the new ship, good stuff. Oh, and Major Pete Birt makes another return to the ongoing Chimera story, this time as Commander of the USS Monitor...but then he hands all his crew over to Guzman and takes up residence as the ships Intel Officer. Orkin trundles onto the new ship reminiscing about his time spent previously on the old chimera, the new command changes and all the physicals that he's going to have to do on the new officers. Shane settles into the new ship, he asks to see Major Walsh, Ra'nar and Rodgers. He Assigns Rodgers as CEO, Ra'nar is cruelly snatched away as CMO and promoted to warrant officer and Walsh and Guzman exchange words over SSF Command appointing Jack 2xo after Walsh cried about it to Cole. Maikai plays with her Dog and Stan Pressman, Jack Walsh meets with Cortez, promotes him to 2nd Lieutenant and ODA XO, later the two have a laugh putting the newbie's through training exercises. Lt.Col Bourne at SSF Command chats with people that can get him information about things pertaining to the new mission, he uses that old cliché of going over a lackeys head to get the guy to give him authorisation for some stuff. =========================================================================== Quotable Quotes (by Queen Rangi) 'Morning after the night before' 1)........ You can do this by sending the command staff chimera-command@ucip.org) a log labeled with "Draft" tagged to the subject line. We'll typically let you know if it's approved within 24 to 48 hours, or tell you what might need to be modified before it's sent to the listserv. When using other characters in your logs, please keep in mind that person's characteristics. Character information can be found on the UCIP website or the USS Chimera website (under CREW -- just click on the Star Trek symbol next to the character's name). If you're still unsure how to interact with a character, then privately mail the person involved, and I'm sure they'll be willing to help. Conversely, if you feel that your character is being portrayed incorrectly by someone please contact them to try to work out an agreeable solution. Just keep in mind when logging to treat other characters the way you'd like them to treat you -- with the respect due to any member of Starfleet who is a specialist in their field.
