Hey folks, A little slower week then the one before but that was to expect. Real Life hitted some of our crew hard and I hope we will return to simming in full numbers soon. This week we have 4 unexcused and that is not a nice thing. If RL beats you down and you cant log for whatever reason – please let us know. You will get a steady 'E' instead of an nasty '0' in the log count and the Command team can do a better planing of the storyline ... when we know with whom we can count of whom not. Do something nice and brave and earn some award! =========================================================================== =/\= MISSION SUMMARY/QUOTES OF THE WEEK =/\= =========================================================================== Summary (by Queen Rangi) On Starbase 485, Lt Foster and Ens Nejor had a short and heated meeting.Two days later Andy and Athena boarded Chimera together.There they met the disgruntled security sergeant who explained that Shane had commended him on his security measures but had gone on to punish him by telling him to clean the corridor.Both Andy and Athena suggested that Shane might well have been joking and Athena went so far as to say the new CO had a 'unique' sense of humour at times. Cortez had planned a training exercise for ODA and Walsh, an interested observer, was secretly pleased at the assistant commanders mean streak in having non federation weapons to make things interesting.Walsh amused himself by ordering Perkins ( who really 'should' have polished his boots better) to run 40 laps of deck 12 in one third gravity carrying 40 lbs weight.Lynch was spared a similar fate by promising 'it' would soon be there.Later, he was forced to engage in a little 'undercover work' that caused him to have frayed nerves BIG time. But it was all in a good cause...he had managed to 'obtain' several necessary pieces of equipment for his new lab but more importantly he had supplied a few bottles of 'it' to Major Walsh...so really...everyone was happy :) Whilst Chimeras new captain was having a busy day, including promoting both Ra'nar and Rodgers to new rank and positions, the new XO was having problems of her own. Summoned back to Bragg to face an interview with Commodore Stephenson and two other SSF officers, she answered a few leading questions as they tried to discover whether her recent promotion was a favour returned from Shane or if she thought their relationship could cause a conflict of interests.By the time she was dismissed, she knew that Walsh had complained about her appointment.Later she met Jason Stephens and recognised him as the man in Lucys holograph.He told her about his background and how he had made a time leap following an accident when on his first space mission from NASA. He showed her a photograph of his wife and sons, a third timeline had he but known it. Rangi wondered how Lucy would react if she met him in sickbay. Ra'nar went to look over his new domain and was impressed by it.Torin Jamar introduced himself as the ships medical yeoman and Ra'nar ordered him to arm himself with a phaser...just in case. Major Pete Birt was contacted by LtCol. Bourne who informed him that there was a possibility that the Breen were involved in the coming mission. Commodore Stephenson had contacted Shane and 'suggested' that some of the new promotions be reconsidered. Shane was not prepared to do so and 'recycled' the padd.When Rangi returned he told her little of the Commodores comments and they went to the Bridge.Clearance was given to depart from Bragg and Shane ordered Chimera be set on course for Sidos.He asked C'el to call a meeting for senior officers in an hours time and, heading off to his ready room, gave Rangi charge of the Bridge.This was a sudden surprise for her but she tried to conceal her nervousness. At the briefing the officers were shocked speechless on hearing their mission involved locating Jem'Hadar soldiers now living supposedly innocent lives as ordinary Federation citizens and that they now referred to themselves as Marduk.He explained the loss of contact with the colony and the need to return everything to normal level.He ordered Ra'nar and his medical team to prepare for a large scale medical emergency and reprimanded him for expressing inappropriate terms.Engineering was instructed to ensure the whole ship was running at full efficiency and Science to search for any anomalies. "The uniform consists of your summer BDU's, anyone who is late, or in the wrong uniform will regret it", he said stopping and looking back towards Walsh. "Nah" Shane replied, "It was surely Foster. The guy had always an odd sense of humour. Lets check if there isnt Walsh's quarters between ours" ==================================== Cmdr Rangi "Some see the wardrobe half empty" Summers The wardrobe was wide with shelves set to the left hand side and two long hanging rails. A modest array of clothes hung on three hangers. {Mmmmm.we'll have to do something about that...thats no where near enough!} Rangi thought and closed the doors. ==================================== Warrant Officer "Showing off his shiny new sickbay" Ra'nar Ra'nar looked around, {So this is it, my new base of operations.} Was Ra'nar's first thought as he looked around the brand new sickbay, his second thought was, {Hell, it's big.} Ra'nar had been in the Intrepid class sickbay on the old Chimera and the Akria class sickbay from when he was with the 42nd Med-Evac, before joining SSF, both of those were only half the size of this one. ==================================== PO3 Aidan, "Mr. Modesty" Lynch "Wasn't that hard to get the stuff now, was it?" Walsh said with an evident tone of satisfaction, after taking a long sip from one of the bottles. Aidan would've loved to strangle Jack for saying that. Instead he raised his shoulders. "No big deal, really" he said instead and left the Majors Office, disappearing in his half finished, new and shiny laboratory. ==================================== Ra'nar. Keeping it "real" Ra'nars expression was deadly serious, "I know a lot that you don't. But that is beside the point. The Chimera is a combat vessel, a SSF Vessel. I need all my staff to be prepared, I am told that on the mission before last there was a fully armed Romulan beamed into sickbay by accident. ===================================== What a poor shot Cortez, shame on you... ;) "Get your ass down", Cortez yelled back at Jones as he rolled over to his side and aimed his weapon at a small figure about 150 yards away. Breathing in slightly he pulled the trigger and sent a single shot downrange hitting the man in the right shoulder sending him to the ground. "Damn", Cortez said to himself. "Might as well give it a try," Gerrin said. "Worst that could happen is we end up with what little information we already have." "Yes," Ripley agreed. "It's worth a shot. I wonder why Cole didn't contact her..." she mused, but shrugged it off, and turned to the monitor that was on her desk. Conversely, if you feel that your character is being portrayed incorrectly by someone please contact them to try to work out an agreeable solution.
