*** At the Briefing *** At the completion of his report, Shane resumed his seat opposite Rangi and glanced across at her.It was a fleeting moment in the serious business of the meeting,but the both knew the shared sentiment it held {I've missed you..I want to speak to you..I love you} Turning her attention to the head of the table,Rangi saw the colonels nod that indicated she make the next report. "Sir...." she leaned forward and offered a padd "...the full report from sickbay." She straightened up and began her outline report."The away team have had a brief physical examination and have suffered no untoward effects. There are a number of casualties suffering the result of physically contacting the aliens....both here and on board the station.Dr Fisher has been able to determine a meta-phasic effect, causing cell cohesion at the quantum level......the cells are half phased into sub space yet still partialy exist here.We know at least three of the research team died as a result of contact but here on the ship the damaging effects seem to have been slowed.The remaining research team are suffering various degrees of exhaustion and stress.Some will undoubtedly need time to overcome their experiences." Rangi paused, looking down at her own padd for reference. "The marine injured by phaser fire is recovering well." Glancing at the CEO and technician as she mentioned them, Rangi continued: " Sir.I understand Lt Quayle has the device Dr Carpenter discovered...and Mr Morgan has the protoplaser." Keylor nodded agreement. "I cant explain that one sir..the protoplaser is the standard model." "Thankyou Doctor." Keylor waited for her to sit down before moving attention to the next officer.
