***** Deck eleven, Phaser Control ***** Ens Stephens and Tcn Miller were busy welding the bulkhead patch into place. Jason welded as Miller held the plate in place. Hawk meanwhile stood across the room and appeared to be watching the two work. He wasn't being lazy or anything nor was he inspecting the work of the other two. He was deep in thought and highly worried. The facts of this incident didn't add up in his opinion. The when, where, why, and who just didn't make sense. The breaches appeared to be aimed at phaser control and possibly a deuterium tank, but why would a group miss both just barely. He ran through the whys in his head, they could have done this just to show they could strike when and were they wanted. That didn't hold up though as the attackers lost the surprise factor now, our "antennae" were up and searching. The second possibility was that of a boarding, but that two didn't hold water as there were no traces of intruders or time for them to even board. A third option was to divert our attention away from something else, possible sabotage of some type. That one he couldn't dismiss, as there just wasn't enough information. "HEY, HAWK." Stephans yelled at Hawk as he had likely been speaking to him for a good minute or so. Hawk snapped from his thoughts and replied by following his train of thought. "Mr. Stephens, could you assist me in searching for a device in or around the room." "HUH. What do you mean LT.?" Jason replied. "Well things just don't add up with our new view ports here, and I think that we may have had more presents by whoever did this. Let's search this and adjoining rooms to make sure there are no devices, OF ANY SIZE, lying around extra." Hawk said at length. ======= thirty minutes later ========== There was a pretty exhausting scan and search of the five rooms in question and nothing abnormal was found. That still didn't sit well with Hawk but there wasn't much else to do at this point. The need for further investigation was in his thoughts and he did report to LT Rodgers what he was thinking. Any action from there would be mandated from above, any ordered action that was. A few moments after talking to Rick Hawks comm badge came to life. +taps+ Mr. Versey, this is Rick. I just got a report of navigational +taps+ computer errors. Apparently the ships orbit keeps deteriorating without any other visible cause. I need you to take a look since you're closer to main engineering than me. +taps+ Aye sir I will take a look, Hawk out. "Hmmm, that's damn odd, I just checked that system before we left bragg and there wasn't a single flaw with it." Hawk said as he turned to Stephens and Miller. "Lets go check this one out and see what turned up, shale we." He continued with a grave look on his face and making his way towards the nearest lift. ====================================================================== LT jg Hawk Versey Asst Engineering Officer USS Chimera-A
