===== Briefing room ===== Shane was leaning in his chair and carefully listening to the reports each of the present officers presented. Shane had to admitt that in comparison to the meeting he held in this room only few hours earlier, they were quite better on. Rangi introduced the modified protophaser that seemed to be quite effective against the aliens and the portable energy emmitter that rendered the person carrying it virtually invisible for the them. This two items were just what they needed if they would decide to send a third away team to the station. Another fine surprise was Mr.Morgan's metaphasic field and the antiproton flood that allowed them to repeal any attack started by the aliens with little effort and great efficiency. This two news combined gave the 'fleet team' new hope and possibilities to get the upper hand in this skirmish. Shane looked around the gathered officers, half expecting to see eager and happy faces ... afterall now they were no longer helpless against the intruding aliens. But ... (of course) little no none shared Shane's enthusiasm. Looking at the 'green man' at the head of the table, Shane asked the Colonel for word. Standing from his chair he looked towards Keylor and said: "I believe that with the help of the protophaser, the portable energy emitter, metahpasic field and antiproton flood we have no longer to fear an ambush by the aliens. If we can replicate enough of such equipment for the ODA members, I think we can consider ourselfs safe from the aliens. I think we could even get rid of the aliens of the station but still we have know no way how to stop the transwarp tunnels from appearing." Pausing for a moment like thinking about the next words he continued: "One possible way is to destroy the station. With no station here, the aliens will have no point of interest here." Not looking for responses he continued: "An another way is to try to find a way to comunicate with the captured alien and maybe make them understand that we wont tolerate their attacks and that we now have the technology to repeal them. The third way i see is to send an third away team to the station, clear it and try to reverse whatever have the researchers done" Shane sat himself again to the seat and looked over the table for any responses. Sure, he said nothing new, just summarised what was already said, but still here and now a decission had to be made. This has gone just too long and the costs were just to high.
