===== Bridge, USS Chimera ===== Several minutes passed since the CMO transmitted his informations about the Jem'hadar and their addiction (or lack of) to Ketracel white. Shane skimmed fast through the report and relayed it through to Science where he asked LT. Oriana to have a look at the report. Shane could not let the worry go of what the next action of the cloacked shuttle be. He's seen that his enemy was a cunning one ... using dangerous tactics. That was the cause why the Chimera was maintaning shields ... even at the costs that noone could beam from ot to the planet while they were active. A faint beeping behind tactical revealed that there was someting going on there outside. Shane was not dissapointed as C'el announced: "Sir, I am detecting sporadic weak outbursts of various particles as 110 km distance from us. They are similar to those detected before the enemy shuttle partially decloacked, but yet they are different ... more irregular". Shane looked fastly up from the PADD he was reading and barked: "Yellow alert! How are our shields?" Several small yellow blinking lights confirmed the actication of the yellow alert and C'el replied: "Shields are up and running at 100%". Now it was LT. Andersen who tapped his console like some artists of old their keybord who spoke: "Commander, those particles indicate a malfunctioning cloacking device. I believe that it will soon collapse ..." "On screen Lieutenant!" Shane ordered. The screen blinked for a moment and a region of space away from the planet appeared. For a second or two nothing was to seen but then with a slight flash a shuttel appeard out of nowhere. Having no mind for a gentle approach Shane said: "Target that shuttle Miss C'el, Mr. Foster open channel!". Foster tapped two buttons and announced: "Channel open sir". Shane stood up from his chair and said: "This is Commander Guzman from the Federation starship USS Chimera. Uknown shuttle identify yourself!" There was silence. "This is the last warning, unknown shuttle identify yourself!" Shane said. Shane turned to Andy and asked quietly: "Are they receiving this?". Andy tapped his console again and noded slightly: "I dont see any damage on their comm system so i suppose they do." Shane indicated with his hand to close the channel and asked turned towars the tac station: "Cadet?" C'el looked up from her console and said: "Its a standart federation Danbe class runabout, shields up and on 30%, 6 lifeform signatures on board, 2 Jem'hadar, 4 human". "Altered Jem'hadar?" Shane asked. C'el shook hear head: "Doesnt appear so, I have clean biosignal and they are definitelly human". Palmer interrupted the conversation when announcing: "Sir, the shuttle is turning around and is setting course toward the planet". Shane looked away from C'el and focused on the screen. There he saw the runabout turning and gaining speed. He was not certain what to do at the moment. The shuttle was a nice target for them ... {too nice} he thought. Considering the circumstances it almost appeared like the runabout was tossed over to them ... on a silver plate. Anyway, there has to be done something and lacking his XO to ask for advice Shane had to act. "Miss C'el pahser fire approved, disable the runabout's engines ... fire" Shane ordered. The phaser beam hit the shuttle with a fine precision and then again. The first shot was absorbed with what was left of teh runabout's shields but the second got through and hit the backpart of the runabout. In a matter os two secodns, the runabout started to loose its speed ... "They are hailing us" Andersen announced. "On screen" Shane replied. The image of the damaged runabout was now exchanged for a view inside the cocpit of the runabout where two bulky Jem'hadar were sitting. One of them grined and said: "Commander Guzman from the Federation starship USS Chimera stop your fire. We have hostages on board" {What?} Shane gasped in mind. The Jem'hadar continued: "Four of the human crew from Einhoften. One more shoot Commander Guzman from the Federation starship USS Chimera and we'll kill them" Shane was caught off guard. One simple point was till now escaping his judgement. There HAD to be non-Jem'hadar crew on Einhoften and since it seemed that some uknown unemy took command of the facility, the non-Jem'hadar personel must be eighter dead or captured. The enemy proved again his abilities ... now the Jem'hadar were using the humans and life-shields! "What do you want?" Shane asked through his clentched teeth. "You seeing away ... Commander Shane Guzman from the Federation starship USS Chimera, we go back to Einhoften". Shane indicated to C'el to cut the channel and swiftly asked: "Can we beam them onboard?". It was Foster who replied: "Engineering suggested using of the transporter in emergencies only and there are some interferences on the shuttle. We can beam only two person at one time". Shane thought fastly. Two at one time means that eighter their start beaming with the first two humans and risk the lifes of the remaining two when the Jem'hadar will realise whats going on, or beam the Jem'hadar first and risk the 4 human lifes on any potential danger on oard the runabout. "Beam the Jem'hadar first, directly to prison cells. Then the humans to sickbay and pronto Mr. Foster!" Shane barked. "We have to deactivate the shields" stated Andy the obvious. Shane noded: "DO that Mr. Foster". Andy noded and started to tap his console away. One second after the Chimera's shields were deactivated C'el shouted: "Commander! Four other shuttles decloaking!" "What?" Shane asked surprised. In that moment the first shoots hit the Chimera and shook the ship slightly. Shoot and cloak was their tactics. Each of the four shuttles aimed ... shoot ... cloacked and after moving a bit away from their original position decloacked again ... aimed ... shoot ... cloacked ... The Chimera shook again as Shane shouted: "Foster, beam those guys onboard, C'el fire at will and activate the shields after we have all six on board!" Red alert! ===== End of log ===== Cmdr.
