====== A corridor not too away from the sickbay, USS Chimera ===== Arnold was on a routine patrol with his mate Shirley. It was a standard duty for the ODA to regulary sweep the ship and look out for any troubles and on a SSF ship like the Chimera was the duty even doubled. This was it happend that Arnold and Shirley were not far away from Sickbay when the indruder alert sounded through the ship and the ODA Ops informed them about an rampaging Jem'hadar in sickbay. Their orders were clear ... go there, win the fight ... get the T-shirt or in common language ... "get your ass over to the sickbay, shoot the Jemmie and get praise from the Sickbay crew ... Shirley walked fast at Arnolds side, trying to match his long strides but failing, so now and then putting in two or three extra steps to keep up with him. " Its all very well saying 'go and deal with it' " she complained, her face darkened in annoyance, " but what do they expect us to DO...ask it out for lunch?" They turned into the corridor leading to main sickbay. Everything was calm and quiet. In Sickbay Ra’nar and Sally stood, frozen. In front of them was a six foot tall Jem’hadar holding a Federation phaser rifle and wearing what looked like SF Marine Armour. It was a bad situation to say the least. Ra’nar glanced down at his belt, he was wearing a phaser but he would be dead by the time he put a hand on it. The Jem’hadar seemed to see this. Strangely, he smiled at Ra’nar before taking a step forward. “You are frightened.” said the Jem’hadar, “you should be. I could kill you here, where you stand.” Ra’nar said nothing. “You have a weapon, but you do not go near it. Why?” The Jem’hadar seemed to be asking a genuine question. “You would kill me before I reached it.” answered Ra’nar in a calm voice. “I may not, but I may. You have a chance, one of you might succeed in overpowering me. It is unlikely but it is possible. Yet you stand there not moving, you are frightened, you are weak, you are like the others. They were changed, weak, did not want to fight, wanted to hide instead. Yes you are like the others.” said the Jem’hadar moving ever slightly closer. Arnold remained quiet but gestured to Shirley that he will storm the sickbay and asked her to cover him. They've had no idea where exactly in the sickbay the Jem'hadar was nor what he was doing at the moment. Maybe already killing folks. Trying to make the least of sound, Arnold arrived just next to the door leading toward sickbay. Looking at Shirley he nodded and got a nod back. She was ready and he was the same. He stretched his hand and pushed the door's open button on the wall computer panel and after the door opened half a meter wide, bowed low, he jumped and threw himself on the ground inside the sickbay, just behind the door ... looking where the enemy was. Shirley counted to three, her phaser clutched to her chest, then followed Arnold through the open doorway meaning to dive to the right. There had been no sound from within and she expected..well..she wasnt sure 'exactly' what but it certainly wasnt to be standing less than ten meters away from the Jem'hadar. She held her phaser aimed at his head, but a movement from the left distracted her. It was a dark haired man she didnt recognise standing with one of the nurses. Out of the corner of his eye Ra’nar had seen the two ODA members sneak… well it was more of a dive, into sickbay. Lucky for the two of them the Jem’hadar seemed more concerned with Ra’nar and Sally. “What are you planning to do now?” asked Ra’nar while wondering why the two ODA members had not cut the Jem’hadar down with phaser fire. “I will destroy this vessel.” “And kill yourself?” asked Sally The Jem’hadar stepped closer still, he was now in touching distance. “Victory is life!” Ra’nar knew the ODA couple did not have a clear shot. Ra’nar moved his head forward and spat at the Jem’hadar with all of his force. “Defiance! At last!” Shouted the Jem’hadar, before hitting Ra’nar with his rifle. Ra’nar fell backwards onto Sally sending them both to the floor in a tumble, but out of the firing line. Arnold's eyes shone in excitement as his former mate Ra'nar managed to get out of the firing way. He was holding his aim at the Jem'hadar soldier and pushed the trigger ... nothing happened! Caught off guard by the accident he pushed the trigger at his rifle again ... only to get the same back ... nothing at all! {Creeeeep} he thought. Shirley, expecting Arnold to fire, aimed her weapon at the Jem'hadar and found herself firing alone. The first beam hit the warrior on his right shoulder blade, causing him to spin round to face her with a cry of rage. She took a step to her left and fired again, this time striking him on his chest. The two second burst seemed not to make any difference and he lurched towards her. She fired a again, a sustained blast and this time he tottered and fell. She waited where she was, keeping the still figure in her aim. <<< To Be Continued................>>> W/O Ra'nar CMO USS Chimera & Arnold / Shirley Security & unnamed Jem'hadar (npcs)
