Lt Commander Rangi Summers Chief Medical Officer / 2XO USS Chimera NCC 96899 - Ensign Mercedes Carpenter Assistant Medical Officer USS Chimera NCC 96899 = The Research Station = Shuttlebay "We 'really' need to get her back fast" Rangi said studying the tricorder readings that revealed Hathaways serious state. Rangi looked up from her kneeling position beside Hathaways stretcher and peered this way and that in her effort to see where Keylor was. She saw him in the co-pilots seat, apparantly in deep thought.Turning to face Mercedes she asked. "Peters asleep? How has he been?" Mercedes nodded. "Yes he's asleep now. He was getting very drowsy on the way to the shuttle, and I almost had to drag him for the last bit, but everything seems fine. I've scanned him and everything appears to be in order. I think he might suffer from some shock after effects when he wakes up." "Quite possibly " Rangi replied shifting her gaze to the sleeping form lolling in his seat and snoring gently."He's not the only one either. They all look so scared." "We might all need some therapy after this," Mercedes smiled, trying to lighten up the seriousness of the situation a little. "I hope the Chimera has a good Counselor." Rangi returned the smile and was about to answer when a call from outside made them all look towards the nearest window."Sir! More marines!" the shuttle pilot cried out, pointing to the rear of the craft. Mercedes looked out through the rear, but couldn't see anything. "We'll have to make more space for them," she said to Rangi. "It's going to be an uncomfortable ride home." {Too true!} Rangi thought as she got to her feet. She glanced up as Keylor made his way towards them."Come with me." he said softly, touching Rangis shoulder as he drew level. He gestured to Mercedes to follow. "Lance Corporal Kilpatrick reporting in SIR!" Jason annouinced with a salute. Keylor nodded and saluted back. "Glad you could make it corporal. Was beginning to wonder there if you would ever see one of the signs I left behind." Rangi turned to the Mercedes. "Three more" she said and moved to the door where Keylor turned to face them. "Doctor's why don't you show the researchers here where to sit in the runabout. Once they are settled please join me and the corporal out here." He moved aside, allowing the two doctors room to climb out. Mercedes stepped over to the civilians and helped them towards the shuttle while Rangi helped them get inside. "I'll scan them and check their vitals."she volunteered. "We can make room for them along there" Rangi said, helping a female researcher towards a seat. The woman was dropping through exhaustion, stumbling and crying in part relief."Its alright" Rangi reassured her and looked towards the AMO "How are they?" "So far so good," Mercedes said as she ran the medical tricorder over them while Rangi helped them to get seated. "No major injuries or other conditions. Just fatigue and shock. I can give them a mild stimulant that might help with the fatigue, but the medication we have in medkit might aggravate anxiety symptoms; the right medication will be on the Chimera." "Please do that." Rangi replied, helping the woman into a seat. "Co-affizine should be ok, though bear in mind they're dehydrated and under nourished." Mercedes nodded and went over to the medkit. "I'll try to find some water for them." The group was a sorry sight. Tired and dishevelled from the hours of running and hiding from the aliens, they sank onto the offered seats and gratefully took the wlecome water offered them. After a few minutes, Mercedes and Rangi rejoined Keylor at the shuttle door. He looked each one of them over slowly. "Ok we are going to try to leave now. Doctors, this can be a bumpy ride trying to get out of here. There is no telling how this event horizon will affect the shuttle systems. I want you to take care of all the passengers and crew in the rear of the runabout. Get them ready for the flight." Keylor then nodded to Jason, giving commands to him and the pilot. "Ok" he said as the corporal hurried away "Lets leave." He forced a smile. Rangi followed Mercedes back into the shuttle."We need everyone strapped in and that stretcher needs securing.I'll see to that if you check on everyone else." =
