Lt Commander Samantha Palmer Ship's Helm Officer USS Chimera NCC 96899-A = Shuttlebay = Samantha sat inside one of the shuttles and mulled over the padd that Oriana had given her. What did it mean and where did it come from? It was clear there was some kind of Starfleet Intelligence involvement with Einhoften and with the marauding shuttles, but exactly who and where it came from was still a mystery. Was this just another secret project gone wrong orchestrated by Intel flag officers, or did it stretch beyond that. Brushing a strand of hair from her face, she sat forward and typed at the console in front of her, bringing up the access screen for the shuttle's database. The second level encryptions had been broken, and the decrypted information was contained on the padd given to her by the Chief of Science. Glancing at the padd, she copied the requested access information from it onto the console, and it granted her access to the second level information on the database. She opened the log files and the communication statistics, but many of them required third level access, and that was a barrier that the operations team hadn't yet been able to breach. On a whim, Samantha decided to enter her former SSF access codes into the field, and to her amazement she was granted access to third level information. =93Petty Officer!=94 she called to the crewman who was busy outside the shuttle as she pulled up the information she was looking for. =93Section 31=85=94 she whispered as she read, a frown creasing her brow. Samantha had suspicions that this drama involved high level officers, but Section 31? It was even more serious than she suspected. A thought crossed her mind about Nicolas. Could this have been the reason he had disappeared so quickly without saying goodbye? But then again, Nicolas never said goodbye=85 he just left. Feeling slightly irritated at the thought of her former lover, she took the padd held out to her by the operations crewman and downloaded the information from the database onto it. Close the link she had opened, she locked the data on the padd with Level 5 clearance. Hopping out of the shuttle, she moved off into the direction of the door. =93Lieutenant, I'll be on the Bridge if you need me,=94 she said to Oriana as she passed the Vulcan woman on her way to the exit. =93I need to speak with the Captain.=94 With a nod from the science officer, Samantha stepped out of the double doors into the corridor and made her way to the turbolift. She suddenly felt filled with resentment=85 but whether it was brought on by her thoughts of Nicolas or the fact that Section 31 was involved remained unclear to her. Perhaps her access to the third level information didn't reveal all that much, but it did trace the transmissions back to Section 31 and Guzman would certainly want to know about that. Another question sprouted roots in her mind: Why did her access codes still work when all her SSF Agent level privileges were stripped after her reassignment? =
