<<OOC: Oriana, doufam ze nevadi ze jsem to trochu pozmenil a rozsiril.
To cos poslala bylo skvely, ale tos mohla poslat jako samostatnej log,
bo ja nemel tuseni cim do toho prispet. Pokud ti to bude moc vadit,
prosim ozvi se. Posilam to takhle brzo, kvuli tomu ze zitra se uzavira
zapletka tak aby to bylo jeste oficialne a ne jako back log. Jinak bych
ti to samozerjme poslal zpet na kontrolu. >>
===== Biological laboratory, deck 3 =====
The biohazard materials from the Jem'Hadar's shuttle were now safe in
the quarantine. A team of specialists took care about. And Oriana was
there too. She numbered not hours, which passed. But they still had not
any satisfactory findings. Some of the chemicals had too complex formula
for the computers. This was frustrating as Chimera had the best of the
equipment.
This was the time for radical solutions. Oriana went to one of the free
consoles and she worked on it for a while. {Yes, this could work.} She
tapped several buttons and computer beeped and blinked several times. In
the end she ordered: "Computer, perform this command, authorisation
Oriana four one three, and use the vacant memory for the biological
laboratory.
[Working ... command accepted ... performing the tests ... tests
complete ... showing of compound.]
And after a few moments surprised people in the lab finally looked on
it.
"What did you do?" asked specialist Wiley.
"Got more clear memory for our work," answered Oriana simply and went to
the screen.
"But, don't others need the place?" he asked carefully.
"Maybe someone. But I suppose, they will excuse us, when we will find
out something important," she raised her eyebrow: "Do you see this?" she
pointed at one part of the compound.
"Yes, I see. Definately organic."
"Something for the medical," noted someone.
The whole laboratory looked at the screen.
"Computer, open the medical database and analyse the part 27 of the
chemical. What are we looking at?"
[Processing ... the part 27 consists of basic molecular chain used in
nanotechnology in 97,988 %.]
"Continue."
"If I may madam..." interrupted Terek who was watching Oriana's progress
winth interest.Drawing lieutenant's attention to him he continued.
"Nowadays new methods of development in nanotechnology arouse. You see,
the main problem always has been that nanobots could do only a small
spectrumof programmed tasks, their memory simply wasn't advanced enough
to hold all of the orders. Only really advanced nanobots were the Borg
nanoprobes constructed on metal basis. Recently the Fedderation
scientists made some progress in this field."
He gulped as his mouth was dry and continued.
"Using a simple organic molecules not identifiable as artificial, they
managed to construct nanoprobes and even programm them with the complex
A.I. They inserted all of the informations on a quantum level into the
cores of the molecules. Those experiments were top secret until recently
when the project was officialy stopped for the danger of the misuse of
those nanoprobes. The results of the experiments were given to a certain
number of the scientists to study for any other use."
When he saw a suspicious look on Oriana's face he quickly added
"I know about this as my father was one of those scientists and we've
talked about it."
"So to summarize this. If the Einhoften scientists secretly worked on
the forbidden nanotechnology, we can have here a much more than simple
retrovirus."
Oriana nodded in acknowledgment and tehn turned back to the terminal
{Very interesting} she thought. "Computer, new task. Try the simulations
of this basic molecular chain with ... a humanoid body."
[Processing... Insufficient data available to analyze, displaying
possibilities]
A large wall display turned on and after a few moments it showed
results. It was very interesting. Analysis showed that the possible
reaction in humanoid body according to the observations of the patients
on the sickbay and data from their bioscans. It showed that the molecule
is influencing endocrine glands forcing them to make a unusual amounts
of support and so called action and stress hormones. Hormones like
katecholamints, adrenalin, testosteron, noradrenalin, epinefrin and so
on, thus blacking consciousness of the infected patients make them to
act violently.
Oriana read the computer's specifications of the hormones and enzymes:
"All right. Now our main task is to find how to disable those molecules,
so everyone get to work." Oriana said.
{For the Prophets sake, this is something we can't never handle alone.}
thought Terek sitting once again at the console and searching the
retrieved Einhoften data for some technical data about the programming
of the molecules, but without any great success. Some of the files
mentioned it, but were linked to another ones, which they weren't able
to download as they were marekd as top secret and thye had no access to
them.
Suddenly one idea that might be of a great assistance to them attacked
his mind. {Sakra.... now this isn't going to be a nice one, but he has
to do it....}
"Got to make a call..." he reported plainly and left the lab heading to
his quaters, not explaining a word. He didn't see the surprised look of
his coworkers staring at him as he laft the lab and almost run towards
the turbolift fot the time was of the essence now.
<< OOC... a little personal log of mine will come, narrating the events
that occured in the moments Terek was gone >>
===== After about fifteen minutes =====
Running back into the lab he almost hit the door as they were opening
too slow. "Got it!" he shouted not adressing this to anyone, waving the
padd in his hand.
"Computer, download the data on the padd, then open the technical
specifications file and search for quantum decoder matrix."
[Please wait]
responded computer and after a few moment it added.
[Data found]
{Yes... I hope it was worth of it}
"All right... Computer, now apply those decoding tables on the quantum
signature of the sample molecule core and display the results on screen"
[Acknowledge]
replied the machine and aftera few moments the display of the hormones
was changed by another one that showed a complicated structure of the
quantum signatures of the molecule. Then it changed and suddenly it
looked more like a machine code then an abstract painting which it was
resembling before.
"Good... there are some holes and mistakes, probably caused by the level
of mutation in the molecule and some adjustments made in the Einhoften,
but I think we can handle it from here." he mumbled for himself. Then he
felt surprised stares on his back, so he expalined it aloud, turning to
the Oriana as she was now in charge of this operation and his behaviour
in the last minutes was more than punishable, not mentionin the
violation of few federation information politics rules, but no one needs
to know that.
"What we have here is trenslated quantum programming of the virus. I've
also acquired some hints of how the programming is implemented into the
quantum structure of the molecule, so all we have to do now is change it
and apply the changed molecule to the people on the Chimera."
"All right lieutenant. We will proceed according to your suggestions. "
Replied Oriana in a cold voice. He would almost gues that she wasn't
happy at all about his ilogical and almost chaotic behaviour, but he was
ready to face the consequences. He had to do this.
