"Plot Ending Log" by Mumacik ===== CO's ready room, USS Chimera ====== Shane took a sip from a large mug of fine green tea, placed the mug on the table and said: "Computer, start recording" The computer bleeped and said: [Recording ...] Taking a short look outside the large window in the ready room Shane started: "Captain's log, Stardate 240512.17. The Chimera left the orbit of Sidos three hours ago and in now heading towards Starbase 78 for minor repairs and a week of R&R. I've transfered the control of the Einhoften Station to Major Jefferson who arrived with marine reinforcements just after we have retaken control of the facility." Taking a sip from his tea Shane continued after a moment: "The plan developed from Major Walsh and 2LT. Cortez worked well. The diversion unit led by the Major inflicted just enough damage to attract the majority of Jem'hadar forces in the facility to prusue it. Lieutenant Cortez then managed to gain control of the facility's custody area, where we have found 32 non-Jem'hadar personel from the facility. That personel was captured by the Marduk when they've retaken control of Einhoften and held captive until we've freed them. Together we have managed to save 44 non-Jem'Hadar personel from the facility." Shane made a pause to recall the events better: "Lieutenant Cortez and Major Walsh managed after fierce fighting with the Jem'hadar warriors to defeat the enemy. Once the Jem'hadar force was destroyed, the ODA team seized control of all facility's buildings, inclusive the Command centre and reestablished communication with the Chimera." "With the arrival of Major Jefferson and his marines, I could withdraw the ODA back to the ship. After speaking with Special forces Command, the Major was ordered to stay on the facility until an another SSF ship will arrive and start to reestablish the facility. The Chimera was commended for the success in regaining control over the facility." Shane looked through the window again. {How much SSF Comm knows? How much havent I been told by them? Wont there be any suspicion?} he asked himself. Taking a deep breath he continued:"Doctor Okrin and Commnder Summers managed with the aid of the Science department to stop a further infection by the artifical virus and even managed to treat those already affected. The Einhoften crew responded very well to the treatment and we could release them from the sickbay in only few hours after the tretment. We beamed all Einhoften crew back to the facility before leaving the planet." Scratching his chin like always when Shane was uncertain or nervous Shane continued: "The suspicion of an unknown cloaked ship landing at the facility could not be prooved. The sensor data we have are unsufficient to draw any conclusion and nothing like an enemy ship was reported by the ODA team. The only point that supports this theory is the fact that originally there were about 20 more Jem'hadar in the facility as we have encountered. But when and if they have left the facility is unknown." "Computer" Shane said, "end recording". The computer bleeped in compliance. Shane leaned back in his chair and with delight thought how lucky he was that their mission was now over. It wasnt the most difficult in his career but the outcome hung too long on a thin thread. But now was the Marduk affair someone else's concern and the Chimera and her crew was about to have R&R. It was a lucky coicidence that they've managed to end their mission just prior to Christmass. It was long ago that he could celebrate the holidays and not chase some bloodthirsty aliens or search for a lost sacred spoon of some important non-fed civilisation. On his table was a PADD where counselor Wellington asked for permission to use the mess hall for an Xmass-celebration party. The Chimera wont arrive at SB 78 will three days after xmass and so they have to celebrate it on the ship. Sure, Christmass was a family event but for many the crew was like a family and a common celebration seemed a very nice idea to him. Athena suggested costumes again. The tradition of costumes was a long one on the Chimera and such parties were always a success. {sometimes TOO much a success} Shane thought thinking back in time about the alcohol-after party some 2 years ago. This time everyone was asked to wear a winter-related constume and Shane had to smile when pretending all the snow-queens and ice-bears on the party. Like after every mission there was time for awards and promotions. Shane thought that the best time will be on the party ... under the xmass tree (Arboretum offered an original terran cedar). He was a bit afraid of the nickname he will be given (Shane was quite sure about that) ... Father Guzmass ... ===== End of log ==== <<OOC ... Finally!
