====== Holodeck three, USS Chimera ====== "All right my boy ... what shal we cook today?" asked jovially (and loudly) a huge klingon clad in a chef's dress. The klingon was situated in a large room full of various types of fireplaces and tenths of pots ... of various shapes and colors. This all was a program called: "Momo ... the Chef without a cap ... but with teeths!" and it was among the holodecks programs Shane bough just prior of boarding the Chimera – A. It was the all-too-known time when he (and all the crew) were left without a ship and ANY personal belongings on a starbase while waiting for SSF Command to decide what to do next. In this time Shane was forced to spend (too) much time shopping and among the (too much) other crap he bought on the station were several holodecks entertaining programs. One of them was a "Cook Book" ... but Shane's idea of an how-to-cook holodeck program was QUITW different. "Momo?" Shane asked quietly and a bit hesistant. Momo was not a *typical* Klingon name and the last thing he could need now was a holographics Klingon cook chasing him all over the holodeck. "Yup! My lad" shouted the huge Klingon and laughed aloud. "Today's menu is blood worms in Kanton sauce ... wanna try? Or you do have something more delicious in mind? Bajoran hasparat?" Shane eyed the Klingon for a moment unable to speak. This was ridiculous. A big-fat Klingon is about to teach him how to cook! The idea behind all this was Shane's intention to surprise Rangi with a few cookies. Not that replicated stuff ... but real home-made ones ... fresh from oven. Of course ... Shane's knowledge and abilities were by far not good enough to make them all alone. He needed help ... preferably by someone skilled and who deasnt talk to much ... rumours about 'da Kaptin cooking cookies would fly over the ship with transwarp. First Shane thought at Athena ... he knew that the counselor and Rangi made some cookies some time ago ... but Athena wasnt feeling too well lately and Shane didnt wanted to disturb her. An another choice was a classic 'cook-book' (PADD) and the all-too-much used method ... try and fail ... It was this moment when the idea striked him that he could use the holodeck program that he bought and try his luck this way. Shane looked at the Klingon and said in a weak tone like trying what will happen next: "Cookies ... I need to make cookies". The hge Klingon pierced Shane by a stare that could roast a whole mutton. "Cookies!!" he cried aloud. I offered you blood worms and all you want are cookies. COOKIES!" Taken a bit by surprise Shane noded: "Yes, cookies" he said. The Klingon suddenly turned down and said almost gentle: "All right, cookies then". He beamed a broad smile at Shane, hit his shoulder with his fist and cried: "Was testing you only my lad ... its cookies-time!". Shane rolled his eyes ... this will be (too) much fun for sure ... ====== 10 Minutes later ====== Shane was just looking a large pot where the Klingon chef was preparing dough when the comouter announced: [Commander Guzman, there is a personal message for you coming in] Shane looked up from the pot, wondered about who was sending him the message and said: "Play it" The computer bleeped in compliance and the sweet voice of Rangi sounded in the room: "The XO requests the pleasure of the COs company in her quarters in ... an hour. Dinner will be served there...dress informal. " Shane thought only for a moment before saying: "Computer record reply to that message" The computer bleeped again: [Record when ready] "If the XO wont mind joing the CO at holodeck three imediately, she might find here something amusing, at least the CO hopes so ... computer end recording and send the message." [Message send] announced the computer. ====== End of log ====== Cmdr. Shane Guzman CO USS Chimera
