She was supposed to be off duty, but she hadn't bothered to take off her uniform yet. At least the uniform she was clean. Not like the one she had gotten so dirty with dirt, blood and other sorts o= f grime down on the planet in her first ODA mission. Continuing to rock back and forth, she watched the omnipresent star field out of the small window i= n her quarters. She was bored, and it wasn't as though there weren't things to be doing on the ship. She just wasn't interested right now. All she wanted to do was stare blankly and empty all thoughts from her mind. That didn't last too long, however. A small alarm went off in the corner o= f the room. Kaitlin couldn't ignore it for long before she finally stood up and made her way to turn off the alarm. She had set it previously as a reminder to go to the gym. It was the least busy time there, as most peopl= e getting off duty were more interested in grabbing a drink or making plans for dinner. Kaitlin had no plans to make. Besides that, she needed to get into shape. Her arms were getting a little flabby and she had a major feeling of sluggishness while on the last mission. Slowly, the blonde haired woman peeled off her uniform. From an onlooker, the way she removed each piece of clothing might have looked like she was suffering from joint pains. But it was more that she had little motivation to do anything. In much the same, slow manner, she pulled on her work-out outfit. Kaitlin thought to herself as she looked at her clothing that she was rather practical when it came to exercising. The clothing she wore wasn't skin tight (as she had seen many young and virile men and women on the ship wearing to the gym) and it wasn't flashy or designed to show a lot of skin. In fact, it wasn't meant to attract any attention. Just practica= l and comfortable. Her shoes were the last part she needed to put on. She did this without wasting much time, and quickly grabbing a water bottle from the replicator, she made her way to the gym. Walking through the corridors, she made very little eye contact with the people that she passed. She didn't recognize most of them, much less know anyone's name yet. It was much the same way when she arrived at the gym. Although most people there were taking their exercise routine rather seriously, and didn't look like they wanted to engage in any type of conversation. Finding a padded mat, Kaitlin placed her water bottle down, and began to ti= e back her hair. She started to stretch out, followed by a few pushups and crunches on the mat. It didn't make her ache nearly as much as she thought= , thinking to herself before that she was in not the greatest shape. Surprisingly, the movement she did made her feel better. She started looking around the gym at the others, using various weights and equipment. A couple of men were helping each other with the larger weights. A few others, namely those ones she had thought of earlier, wearing the wife-beater shirts to show off their muscles, were talking amongst themselves, presumably done with their time at the gym. Kaitlin couldn't help but overhear one of the men. Something about R&R. Something about a space hotel. Space hotel? It seemed a bit far-fetched. The men joked even louder, they had apparently heard rumors already about this space hotel. Kaitlin was sure that they hadn't even been there, and she was even more certain that the Chimera wasn't even docked there yet, if it was going there at all. She knew that there would have been some kind o= f announcement, or at least the ODA commander would have mentioned it. The men continued their conversation as Kaitlin focused on what she was doing. If they were going to a space hotel, it wouldn't hurt for her to look her best while visiting. =/\= End Log =/\= Spc Kaitlin Michaels ODA Medical Specialist USS Chimera ------=_Part_20257_24703839.1136577628916 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Disposition: inline Kaitlin sat alone in her quarters, knees to her chest and rocking herself back and forth on her bed. She was supposed to be off duty, but she hadn't bothered to take off her uniform yet. At least the uniform she was clean. Not like the one she had gotten so dirty with dirt, blood and other sorts of grime down on the planet in her first ODA mission. Continuing to rock back and forth, she watched the omnipresent star field out of the small window in her quarters. She was bored, and it wasn't as though there weren't things to be doing on the ship. She just wasn't interested right now. All she wanted to do was stare blankly and empty all thoughts from her mind.

That didn't last too long, however. A small alarm went off in the corner of the room. Kaitlin couldn't ignore it for long before she finally stood up and made her way to turn off the alarm. She had set it previously as a reminder to go to the gym. It was the least busy time there, as most people getting off duty were more interested in grabbing a drink or making plans for dinner.

Just practical and comfortable.

Finding a padded mat, Kaitlin placed her water bottle down, and began to tie back her hair. She started to stretch out, followed by a few pushups and crunches on the mat. It didn't make her ache nearly as much as she thought, thinking to herself before that she was in not the greatest shape.

She knew that there would have been some kind of announcement, or at least the ODA commander would have mentioned it. The men continued their conversation as Kaitlin focused on what she was doing. If they were going to a space hotel, it wouldn't hurt for her to look her best while visiting.

=/\= End Log =/\=

Spc Kaitlin Michaels
ODA Medical Specialist
USS Chimera

------=_Part_20257_24703839.1136577628916--
