The transporter reassembled two figures near the Hotel check-in desk. As soon as the he was fully formed once more, Rick Rodgers looked around to get a feel for his surroundings and saw Jo Weathersby do the same.. He quickly noticed someone approach. “Greetings, my name is Naodo. Welcome to the Living Dream Hotel. I am here to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.” “I’m Lieutenant Rick Rodgers, this is Petty Officer Jo Weathersby.” “Ah, Lieutenant Rodgers,” Naodo said. “You are the last of the Chimera’s department heads to beam over. We were expecting you a four hours ago and were concerned that you would not be able to join us and enjoy all that the Hotel had to offer.” “Well, as you can see, I’m here,” Rick said. “Yes, most excellent,” Naodo said. “I will be more than glad to show you and your significant other to your room.” “Oh, no,” Jo said before Rick could. “We’re not together. I mean, we arrived together, but we’re not actually together. You see?” Naodo cocked his head to one side and stared at the woman. “Yes, I see,” Naodo said. “So, will you be requiring separate rooms, then?” “Yes, please,” Jo said. “Very well,” Naodo said. “If you can follow me and I’ll show you to your rooms.” Naodo started to move, but noticed that Rick and Jo weren’t following him. “Mr. Naodo ...” Rick said as Naodo turned around to face the duo. “Just Naodo.” “Naodo,” Rick stood corrected, moving closer to Naodo. “Before we do that, I ... I mean we would be most interested in a tour of your base.” “A tour?” Naodo said. “But surely you would like to go to your rooms so you can begin in your recreational pursuits.” “But I would so enjoy having a look around your establishment,” Rick said. “You see, I’m an engineer and I like getting an extended look at any starship or starbase I step on. It gives me an opportunity to see things work in various places and what, if any, improvements I can make on my own ship.” The last part was kind of a lie. Naodo, though, seemed to be considering this. “I can provide you a detailed diagram of the Hotel, if you’d like,” Naodo finally said. “That would be great, but I’d still like the tour if that’s all right,” Rick said. “There’s no substitute for actually being there and looking at things with ones own eyes.” Naodo took another long pause as he was once again in deep thought. “Very well,” Naodo said. “Once I’ve shown you your rooms, we can then begin the tour.” “Thank you,” Rick said. “Like I said, Lieutenant Rodgers, I am here to make your stay as comfortable, and yes, enjoyable as possible,” Naodo said. “Now, if you could follow me.” With that, they headed off to the living area of the Hotel.
