======= Deck four, USS Chimera =======
Dexter left his quarters and headed towards the nearest turbolift. A small bag on his shoulder revealed that he was planing to spend at least a few days on the space hotel the Chimera was docked on for three days already. His shift rotation for bridge duty just ended and he was supposed to have R&R for the next four days. Dexter was one of the unfortunate persons who were on the roster as skeleton crew ... and had to spend the last three days on board the ship while a vast majority of the rest of the crew enjoyed the hospitality of the Living dream hotel.
Initially he believed that the Chimera will stay docked on the hotel for a day or two ... but now it was three days already and the CO seemed not to hurry to end the R&R. Actually, Guzman contacted the ship only once ... saying that all besides the skeleton crew are invited to attend some sort of a party on board the hotel. He ordered Ops to inform all crew and according the security officer in the connection tunnel .... most of the remaining Chimera's crew left the ship a few hours ago.
To be honest, Dexter left the bridge before his replacement arrived, but only a few minutes. Now *should* his replacement Lieutenant Marcus Briggs on the bridge doing watch duty. Glad that he has a chance to enjoy the hotel as well, Dexter made his way towards the connection tube. He didnt check with the Lieutenant, but why shouldnt he arrive in time for his shift? The corridors along his path were unusual quiet – what was quite uncommon on a busy ship like the Chimera, but it was a wellcome change. {Why should anyone spend his time on the ship when there is a hotel to visit?} he though and shrugged at the unusual quietness on the Chimera. The absolute quietness on the ship was in sharp contrast with the all-day noise that was here all the days.
Dexter exited the turbo lift and strided towards the connection tunel. Once arriving there, he looked around for the marine who was supposed to do his security check, but saw noone. He looked around once more ... but there really was noone. Dexter was about to tap his commbadge and call the ODA HQ but then he's heard a loud laugning from the other end of the hotel. Noding to himself he walked along the tunel towards the hotel. As he thought ... the marine was standing at the end of the tunnel, talking to two rather attractive woman.
Walking further, the marine noticed him and smiled at the two woman. "Please excuse me for a moment ..." and went towards Dexter. Greeting to with a nod he said: "Your finger here sir" and handed Dexter a PADD. He took the PADD and pushed his thumb on the little scaner sensor. The PADD beeped faintly and recognized him.
"Here you are" he said and handed the PADD back to the marine. The marine took the PADD and asked: "Joining the rest for R&R?".
Dexter noded: "Yeah, finally my duty's over and I have three days free." He shrugged and said: "Let's hope Guzman wont end R&R in two hours from now." The marine laughed and said: "Yup, you're right. My duty ends in an hour and there is fine company" he directed with his head at the two ladies nearby, "i'll spend the next hours with." He grinned as Dexter while saying: "Taking the count of the crew that is on the hotel at the moment, I would bet that we wont leave sooner then in a day or two". Dexter noded and laughed: "Right, I doubt that there is a single department head on the ship atm."
He waved to the marine and said: "Lets join the crowd and have fun". He made hardly a few more steps when a small blue-ish alien emerged from around the corner: "Wellcome on the Living dream hotel, we have waited for you for a long time ..."
====== End of log ======
<<OOC ... with Dexter and the marine leaving the Chimera we can move to the second stage of our Hotel plot. Lets say that there is ABSOLUTELY NOONE on the Chimera at the moment – its all empty. The connection tunnel to the Chimera is unwatched and well ... when someone would attempt to enter the door ... he would exit at the same place where he started from ... the HOTEL's floor in front of the connection tunnel's door. There is even no way to beam on the Chimera. (This applies to all other ships docked on the station)
To make the story short ... we CANT return to the ship, there is no way back. You cant contact the ship's conputer as well, even if the communication between the crew is still functional. When asking your alien guides about this ... they will say that the Chimera left the station two days ago. We are literary sticked on the hotel! >>
