Okrin moved quickly, with purpose to get to the bottom of the mystery as
soon as possible. He dodged people he knew from the crew and avoided all
conversation, skillfully plowing himself a path in the different crowds
gathered in oblivious celebration. He finally saw the end of the zig
zagging, reaching the outer ring area, where the docking ports where
located.
He walked closer to the one where the Chimera was hooked up. Something
very odd made him stop dead in his tracks. He looked around and couldn't
find the marine he was looking for. The guard assigned to the docking port
was nowhere to be seen, highly against protocols specially when visiting an
unknown starbase or hotel in this case. What was going on?
He walked closer to the access hatch. He looked through the small windows
and could not see the end of the umbilical. He pressed a button to open the
hatch, which it complied and he walked in the umbilical. As he made his way
towards the ship, sure of himself, he came out in the hotel...
"What the ..." He breathed as he definetly knew he was not coming out of
the ship, but in the ship, he should have been on a deckplate of a katana
class ship not the station. He looked back at the access hatch, nothing
seemed to be wrong.
"That was odd." He tried to understand what had just happened.
"If you're wondering why you can't go back to your ship it's because it's
no longer docked." A hotel staff mentioned to him, as he approached.
Okrin made an incredulous face, his right eyebrow reaching new heights.
"What do you mean 'no longer docked'?" He asked him thinlipped, feeling his
temper rise from a dark corner of his mind.
"It left a few days ago." The employe answered.
The bajoran officer felt the internal battle of emotions. Anger, hate and
frustration where gaining over calmness, control and happyness. His fists
clenched. "Are you telling me that the ship left without..." He stopped in
mid-sentence. Rationality kicked in putting a stop to the internal turmoil.
This was a trap, he was sure of it. A Federation ship did not even move a
centimeter without its commanding officer, or crew.
He forced all his emotions to 'come to attention'. Now it was time to
play along. He forced a smile, which looked almost genuine, friends and
family could see through the lie. "Has the entire crew left the ship? There
is so much to do here, I hope nobody miissed out."
The employee could not answer, he seemed to be struggling with a possible
answer.
"No matter." Okrin helped him alleviate, as he planned a surgical strike
on the man. He swore to himself he would put him back together if need be.
He looked up at 'hippocrates'. "I swore, didn't I?"
"Excuse me, sir?" The employee started, but Okrin was already gone on
another mission...
