=/\= Living Dream Hotel Infirmary =/\= Jason looked at the little alien Doctor standing in front of him "What do you mean I can't leave" Jason almost shouted at him "I'm perfectly fine no thanks to this station" he spat implying it was the Station that was at fault. "We haven't finished your checks yet" Ma'tik tried to begin... "I'm leaving and you're not stopping me" Jason shouted "How may I help you?" enquired a soft voiced grey alien who appeared at Rangis side almost as soon as she entered the infirmary. "I've come to see one of Chimera crew." she replied " Lieutenant Stephens." Before anything else was said, the sound of a raised voice was plainly heard. Both Rangi and the little alien turned in its direction. "That's him I think" Rangi said and moved across the reception area, the alien hurrying along side. "I'm not sure its convenient" he said but Rangi ignored him and reached the door to Jasons room where the shouting continued from inside. Jason turned to see Commander Summers standing at the now open door. "Ma'am they are refusing to allow me to leave" he said. Ma'Tik turned to face Rangi "Ah Commander" he said "As I have tried to tell the Lieutentant we haven't finished our tests yet" She glanced from one to the other, Jason obviously angry and the doctor seemingly unperturbed by the incident. "Is this how you run your infirmary?" she asked walking to Jason but addressing the doctor. "If so I'm very surprised." Giving Jason her full attention and asked: "What exactly is going on? Please..sit down and tell me calmly." Jason nodded and moved back to 'His' bed and sat on the edge "Commander I'm completely fine.I was just in shock, All I want to do is leave and return to my quarters on the ship" he said calming down a lot now that one of his Commanding officers was there. "I'm sure I'm needed on the ship a lot more then I am taking up a bed space here, Besides I would rather be under the care of a Starfleet Doctor" He looked to the little Alien "No Offense" He added Rangi gave him a small smile and turned to the doctor. "I think thats a reasonable request." she said quietly. "If Lieutenant Stephens is able to rest in his room I'm sure it would be more beneficial than staying in here. I or one of the other doctors from Chimera can, as he rightly says, care for him." She paused for only a moment before asking " I'm interested to know what 'tests' you plan to run. Surely a young man suffering from shock is in need of rest." Ma'tik looked at Rangi "We just need to check a few things to be sure he isn't a risk to other guests and staff in the hotel" he smiled Jason almost laughed but a look at Rangi was enough to stop him. "I assure you I'm not a risk to anyone here all I want is to leave and go home" he said. Rangi stood up."I'm sure there are no need for any tests.He's in good health and needs to relax quietly somewhere. I will take full responsibility for him." Ma'tik seemed to pause and think about it for a few moments "Very well he may go, But he is your responsibility and as such you will be held accountable for any actions contrary to the hotels policies" he said "Ofcourse" Rangi replied. " I will accompnay him to his room and make sure that he is settled there." Ma'tik looked at her with the large black eyes which she found impossible to read. When he didnt reply she turned to jason. "Ok then Lieutenant" she said brightly " If you're ready?" her look told him to say nothing to antagonise things. Jason nodded in understanding more than anything else he turned to the Doctor "Thank you for taking care of me" he said though in truth he meant nothing of the sort. He was convinced now more than before that they were behind the appearances of his wife. He turned away and followed Rangi from the room. The alien who had met Rangi was waiting outside and escorted them to the exit. "Good day Commander" he said with a bow " Good day lieutenant." "Good day" Rangi replied and walked on as fast as she could without appearing to be beating a hasty retreat. "Right!" she said to Jason as they turned the corner and stopped. "Please tell me exactly what happened in the casino." Jason nodded and took a deep breath "Well you remember I told you how I had a wife and kids before I was pulled forwards to this time period?" he began.. "Yes." Rangi said and glanced around. She touched his arm, urging him to move on a little."I remember that ofcourse." She thought she knew with almost certainty what he was going to say but didnt prompt or forestall him. Jason moved down the corridor with Rangi "Well I was thinking of Marion and the Kids when who should I see walking towards me but Marion and well as you saw I freaked out" He attempted to hide the look on his face from Rangi as they walked on. {That sounds about right} she thought. They came to the seating area where she Rick and Jo had sat not long before. "Please...I need to tell you something " she said and moved to one of the low comfortable chairs. She sat down but leaned forward to him as he took a seat opposite hers. " Lieutenant..." she began. " I understand that you had a huge shock and its not something that you can just wave away and dismiss. It needs to be addressed...and it will be...but you need to know that some of the crew have experienced similar things. Others have 'seen' people. I myself have had a message that was meant to be from my father and I'm ninetynine percent certain it wasnt." She waited a moment for the information to sink in for him. "There are other things too that cant be explained...not least of which is that the Chimera has left dock..though that might not be true either. I'm going to report all this to Commander Guzman. What I want 'you' to do is exactly what we told the doctor you' would' do.... Return to your room and rest. ..but not for too long. We need to find out whats going on. When I've spoken to Commander Guzman I'll come back to you." Jason nodded slowly "I had come to the same conclusion. Clearly my wife and kids are not alive and are not here so all that remained was that things on the station are not what they seem" he said in a low voice "Also I had my bag brought over from the Chimera before it disappeared. There are a few items in it we might be able to use" " Like what?" Rangi asked. Jason paused and had to think for a moment "1 Tricorder and my engineering kit thats all" Rangi smiled to him."Always prepared for an engineering emergency?" She tried to lighten things, just for a moment to make him relax and forget the horrible situation he had found himself in. She couldnt imagine what had passed through his mind when he saw his loved wife. Jason smiled inspite of the situation "Well no not really.In the other bag is a project I have been working on.I intended to continue on with it while I was here" he said "Well...the way things turn out here I have every confidence you would have completed it to your satisfaction plus some." she said drily then got to her feet. "Are you ok to go to your room now?" she asked. " I meant what I said. A doctor can be sent to you.I need you to be alright." Jason nodded and smiled "I'm fine really I am, I'll be even better once I'm away from this place and back home on the Chimera" He smirked slightly, thinking since when had he come to think of the Chimera as home, it had been over 400 years since he had called somewhere home. "Good" she replied, returning the smile but making a mental note that he would be referred to the counselor as soon as they were on their way. "So..I'll find Commander Guzman..you go and get some sleep." Jason nodded "I don't think I'll really sleep much" he admitted "I did nothing but sleep in that sickbay of theirs" She gave a sympathetic look and considered his slightly drawn face . "Well try to relax....perhaps you couild look at the project you mentioned." she said, thinking that his mind might well be engaged elsewhere than re running the events. He smiled "That sounds like a good idea...... Hell you never know I might just get it finished, Everything else in this place comes true" Rangi laughed. "Indeed" she said.
