JL by Rangi, Jass, Harry & Mumacik ===== Deck 2, Jammed turbo lift,USS Chimera ===== Athena pulled herself up and the turbo lift gave a small jerk and the door flew open reveling the desired floor. Rangi gave storok a quick glance and saw her staring up into the exit hatch. She smiled at shane and gave him a fleeting kiss as he lifted her up.Athenas hand reached down for her and after a shaky second or two, she was able to haul herself through the trapdoor. She bent down to offer help to Storok and grinned as she saw the expression on Shanes face. Storok stared at Shane and then at Rangi and climbed slowly up to the hatch. She reached up and help Rangi's hand and flipped onto the top of the turbolift. Snuffling after all the three woman climbed up to the emergency exit bu his shoulders Shane grinnedand shouted : "Great work, now please find the jeffries tube exit and send some technician to open the door ..." {Geeeeze ... I dont want to know what diets the ladies use! Was Rangi THAT heavy 3 months ago too? Or is it that i should visit the gym more often} Shane thought and leaned with his back on the wall. Rangi peered down into the lift and saw Shane in a sorry state, eyes closed leaning on the wall. She grinned. "Anything wrong?" she called to him innocently. Athena and Storok stepped off the top of the lift and out into the corridor. "You know it would be s lot easier if he just climbed up and walked out here with the rest of us." Storok turned to her and nodded. "Though we should respect the XO's decision." She turned around and waited for Rangi. Shane looked at the emergency exit on the ceiling 2 and a half meter high from the ground. {I cant make it ...} he thought {with my 80 kg, none of the ladies could help me to pull up} Scratching his head, Shane sat on the floor with his leggs crossed and closed his eyes ... like a vulcan mediting. Rangi smiled down at him and then stood up with the others. "We'd never pull him up this high." she said. "He's too jheavy for that..lets just go and find help.?" Athena paused for a moment and said, "What if we could find a rope or something?" She looked down the hall and as if answering her beckoning there was a section of cable that wasn't connected to anything. She took the two steps need to pick up the long piece of cable. "Like maybe this?" Storok looked at the pice of cable and raised an eyebrow. "If we held the middle and lowered both ends, then it should be sufficient." She said still studying it from where she was standing. Rangi looked doubtfully at Athena and storok."You think so?" she asked. "Well, its impossible for anyone of us to pull him up and it'll get pretty crowded over that trap door if two try but with this we have power and space." Athena's words were spoken with confidense but it was mostly that she was motivated by pain and hunger. Something hit Shane into his head. "Au ..." he said and jumped to his feet. A large black cable hung from the upper exit and Storok's voice still echoed in the turbolift. {Great} he thought {I should try to use that and blame myself in front of three senior officers and my beloved ...} he grinned at the cable. "Hmm .. thanks Lt" he said with a cheerless tone. Shane seized the cable and tried to climb up the cable. With his little training in climbing and the nervousenes knowing that three ladies are watching him ... his progress was more then slow. Up on top of the 'roof' the three women did what they could to help ... it was very little. At last, after many bumping and scraping noises, interspersed with words they thankfully did not fully understand, Shanes head appeared through the hatch. "Grab him!" cried rangi seizing his jacket. Athena smiled as Rangi grabed ahold of him and she took a steppppppppp back with all her body weight making sure the cable stayed taunt. Shane and Rangi struggled a bit but at last he had managed to swing a leg toward the openning and with a little more help he was up. Ignoring her throbbing knuckles she smiled. Storok grabbed the cable and removed it from Shane's rand after he was safely ontop of the turbolift. She went back into the corridor and placed it from where it had come from. "Wow" Shane gasped ... "quite a trip" after taking a long breath he added: "But next time ill climb first and someone else will play the 'stand'. After another deep breath he beamed a smile at all the gathered ladies: "Thank you all for your help. I ll make a remark in my files for a recommndation about saving the XO. Hmm ... would be nice if you would not mention this little accident to anyone ... what do you say ladies?" Shane asked and looked up at them. Rangi smiled at him briefly and looked down at the floor."Not a word will pass my lips." she said quietly trying not to laugh. Athena smirked at him but said nothing about the lift. "I think I'll try another adventure; the replicators in the Mess hall." Storok raised an eyebrow and like athena didnt mention it. She walked to the end of the corridor and looked to the left and saw the large brown doors signifying that they had arrived at the right deck. Hoping that this little story wont be know to the crew in less then 30 minutes Shane crawled out the Jeffries tube as well and helped Rangi who crawled out the last. "Heading to the mess hall too?" he asked Storok. His question was not towards Athena, cause her 'hungry and determined' look said everythink. Rangi brushed her uniform down as best she could with her hands.She looked from Shane to storok and waited for her answer.Athena, already walking off, stopped and turned. Athena atopped and looked at the rest of the merry band and waited for Stork's reply as well. Storok turned to shane. "I was planning to." She looked at Shane, Athena and Rangi. "I presume you three were as well?" Shane smiled and noded: "Aye, i think so." Turning to Rangi he said: "We should maybe hurry, when other crew is so eager to try the repaired replicators as well ... they will be off line again faster then light." Grinning to the other two ladies he added: "I reserve myself two full portins for today ..." Pretending to frown severely at him rangi said "You'll be even heavier then...dont you think a light salad would be best?" "Is that a medical suggestion Lt?" Shane asked pretending to act officially. Steve replied like he was learned in the academy: "Thank you ma'am. I am glad to be a part of your team ... ma'am" he added. {One cant run away from his fate ...} Steve thought while looking at the floor. A sudden thought hit his head: "If that Guzman is on Aurora and Rangi here ... there might be hope!}. His face suddely brightened like a sky after a storm. "I am really glad about that ... Rangi" Stifling a laugh, Athena walked up to the mess hall doors and peered into the empty room. "I don't think we'll have to wait long." she anounced and didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad one. Storok walked up to the messhall doors and looked through. "Presumably the replicators are not working..." she said and walked in. "That settles your weight problem then " rangi smiled at the XO. ===== End of log ===== LtJg.
