<<OOC ... there is still the 2nd part of my 'interrogation' log on the way ... this (and the JL with Colonel Bretam) happens AFTER the interrogation log. >> "Reunion" by Rangi and Mumacik ====== Bridge, USS Chimera ===== Still a bit 'taken' about Bretam Keylor beeing his new CO, Shane walked out the Captains ready room. Noding to the Helm officer, Shane walked to the turbo lift. Upon entering, he ordered: "Main Sickbay". The faint huming of the turbo lift revealed it was moving. After a frame of a second (at last it appeared to someone who was used to travel between thousands of decks on a space station) the turbo lift stopped and Shane walked out. Now he was heading towards Main Sickbay. Beeing ordered to inspect all departments, his way brought him to the nearest one ... Sickbay. Entering the Sickbay area, Shane looked around ... Rangi frowned up at the display. It meant very little but having given up on any engineer arriving, she had thought to try fixing it herself. She squeezed back under the console and tried to give herself more room to maneuver. {Right} she thought {this cant be so difficult} Shane scratched himself on the head. Comparing to the huge Aurora facilities, this Sickbay was ... well, lets say it honestly ... small. But comparing the crews of Aurora and the Chimera ... it was more then enough. But there was noone there! Shane looked again around but saw noone. But he awaited to see at last the CMO here. The ship was near the maiden cruise and all departments should be ready soon. And there was just no CMO there. "Computer, where is the CMO?" Shane asked: [The CMO is in main Sickbay] announced the Computer. Craning her neck backwards Rangi looked up at the mass of blinking lights and frowned. There was no way at all she would ever make head or tail of it. She sighed and began to slide out of the cramped area. She moved about two inches and stopped. {Now what?} she thought trying to move her right arm. Something was caught, holding her firmly. She wriggled and tried to turn to her left. {Oh great!!} she thought {I'm stuck!!} Shane wondered: {Hmm .. the CMO is here? I dont see a body here} He walked deeper inside the Sickbay and looked for any hidden/invisible CMOs. Of course there were none. But then ... wait a minute ... there was someone! Shane finally spoted two leggs trying to get out from under a console. Shane stepped to the console bending towards the leggs and asked politely: "May i help you somehow?" He tried to identify the body belonding to the legs ... but it was still hidden. Rangi lay still at the sound of a voice."Who's that?" she called wondering if it was at last an engineer.{It would be} she thought {just as i get stuck in here. How embarrassing.} Shane heard a muffled voice comming out beneath the console but could not recognize it. He catched only something like: "Who's that?" Shane straigned his uniform and replied: "I am the new Executive officer ... maybe i could help you with something ..." Rangi closed her eyes.{Worse and worse...I get to meet the XO stuck under a console.} She took a deep breath and said as calmly as she could "Sir? I'm slightly stuck...could you give me hand please?" "Of course" Shane replied and pulled his hand beneath the console. He felt a warm hand holding his and then asked: "Can i pull?" Upon hearing something remembering him to a "yes, sir" he pulled ... and voila! a brand new medical officer appared to daylight. Shane's eyes opened is surprise again. Speechless he looked down at ... RANGI!!! Someone seized her hand and pulled hard. A tearing sound told her she was free at the same moment she slid forward smartly cracking her head on the side of the console as she sat up."Ohhh Keina!!" she cried bending forward hands clasped to her head and drawing in her breath. She saw some shoes and looked up to see the red uniform of the XO. "Sir..." she said trying to focus on his face. Her lips parted in surprise. "Shane" whispered and, not believing what she saw, she struggled to get up. Shane sqeezed Rangi's hand to be sure its no dream. It was none. There she was ... in front of him ... holding his hand. Pretty; sexy and lovely like always. Surprised like Shane himself to see him here. Shane pulled her gently to her feets and hughed her tight. "Milacik, is it really you?" he whispered to her ... I'm dreaming..." she said and held him closely."Shane..." she was so happy, all at once, perfectly happy. "Where did you come from?" she asked pulling away a little to look at his face."I missed you so much...I can't believe it...I really can't" Shane had to look into her dear face again to believe it. It was almost impossible ... last time they were on the USS Falcon on the way to the Iju system ... and now they were again together in the heart of the federation space ... "I, I ... I was assigned as the XO on the Chimera ... but what about you my love? Are you assigned here too? What wonder happened here?" asked Shane. "It was a terrible time without you ..." he said and hughed her again. "The XO" Rangi smiled at him and shook her head, still not believing what she saw. "You're the XO..oh Shane," She raised her fingers and touched his face her smile fading only slightly and she reached to kiss him. Shane kissed her first gently ... like when a couple was long parted ... but then his feeling for his beloved Rangi overrun him, and he kissed her passionately again and again. He did not cared that the XO shouldnt behave this way ... She was lost. Everything she wanted, wished and hoped for was suddenly there. When at last they drew apart she took a small step backwards and brushed her hair away from her warm cheeks, smiling at him and saying in a teasing voice. "Sir...welcome to sickbay!" "Wellcome to Sickbay?" Shane asked a bit surprised. With a grin he turned halfways back and said: "Computer, who is the ship's CMO?" [USS Chimera's Chief medical officer is Lieutenant Junior Grade Rangi Summers] replied the computer. Shane turned back to Rangi and whispered : "Congratulations Milacik. You are the CMO! you havent told me ..." and beamed a smile at her. "I beging to think that there is someone watching over me ..." "Over us.." she said returning his smile and tucking her arm through his. "Would you like a tour of the place?" She steered him towards the surgical centre, pointing out the support frame, the work stations the replicator terminals, showed him the medical lab and most of what it held showed him the biobeds as though he had never seen one before and eventually led him to her office. "What do you think?" she asked. Shane smiled at his love and catched again her hand. "As Shane i hope to spend much time here ... but not as a patient, as XO i have to say that comparing to the rest of the ship, the sickbay looks to be in a really good shape. Did you chased the poor engineers quite a lot?" He grinned at Rangi. "Who me?" she asked laughing "Me?...chase the engineers? Only for a day or two and chief Bradman swears he will have everything running perfectly 'in a while'" she grinned at Shane "thats what he says all the time..'in a while...not long now...pretty soon'." She sat on the edge of her desk."Actually..theres not that much wrong now...only two terminals that come on and off as they want.When I first came in here ,I couldnt believe it... you should have seen the state of it.." She reached for his hand. "Where are your quarters?" she asked innocently. SHane noded to her explanation. He grinned a bit and smiled at Rangi. "I can imagine the poor Man with you 'bugging' him around ... I should grant that man some extra shoreleave ..." He quickly jumped aside as he saw Rangi's expression. "Was just joking my love...." and smiled. "No, really ... please make sure all repairs will be ready till tomorrow 1200. If you will need some extra help from engineering just let me know." He looked sideways at Rangi : "My quarteers? Good question ... I have no idea, coz i am on board less then an hour. And ... where is yours my love?" Shane asked in the same innocent tone. She nodded."There is really only that to do...and he promised me it would be done today. I'll make sure of it. " she added. She looked down at the floor smiling to herself and then glanced at him and moved to stand in front of him smoothing his uniform jacket."I live on deck three" she said removing an imaginary speck from his tunic "Room 12" she looked up at him from beneath lowered lashes. "You know?...when I was on the Falcon, this very nice man came round to check that my quarters were ok. He said that they always needed looking over. Is that likely to happen on this ship do you know?" Shane stroked her beautifull hair and replied while smiling: "Well, you know ... i might send some techinician to look after your quarters ... but first i would have to make sure it will be a lady." He grinned at her and added: "Or I could look after it by myslef ... but I am not so skilled in engineering ... I wonder if you would prefer some real technician ...." She paused before answering him."I think.." she said moving a little closer to him " that it would be best.." she put her hands around the back of his neck."if the executive officer on this fair ship.." she snuggled next to him "could take care of it himself." Shane enbraced her gently and whispered to her ear: "I make sure ill tell him when i will meet him my love. When your duty is supposed to finish? Maybe he could come after your duty to take care about that little problem ..." he bended to her and gentle kissed her forehead. "My duty finishes in about forty minutes." she answered softly."it will seem a very long forty minutes.." she kissed him lightly." but doesnt the XO have a lot of things to take care of? wouldnt he be too busy to check out the CMO's quarters?" Shane noded lightly. "Aye, there are still some department heads I need to pay a visit, but you know, Medical is a vital departmet to any ship, so the security of the CMO have some priority." he could no longer hold the laugh. He kissed her gently and whispred: "Ill be there as soon as possible Milacik. I missed you SO much ..." She didnt answer but sighed in contentment as she held him closely."I'll wait for you." she whispered. Shane hold her in his embrance and whipred back : "Thers is a whole ship for us my love ..." He stepped a step back and smiled at Rangi still holding her hand: "Once again, congratulations CMO ..."
