<<OOC this happens before the the Athena and Keylor's log posted earlier. For those of you confused the log progression is this log, the Athena/Keylor log and the Rangi/Keylor log. The co is working his way to the basement. Who is next?? ::grins::>> ===Bridge=== Keylor had just finished decorating his office. Aside from a few paintings and an occasional sculpture, he had placed his 'hand made knife' on a little holder on his desk. He had put it there for two reasons, first being the captain of the ship, he would have very little use for it seeing he would not be going on many away missions, if any, second intimidation. He figured if a disgruntled XO came charging in to the ready room, he might think twice. He decided to take a trip around the ship and check on the progress of the ships refit. He stepped out of the office and on to the bridge. There he saw two people, Lt York, hard at work at the helm, and Storok slowly walking towards him. Keylor was glad to see Storok. He had felt that Storok had done a fine job on aurora as the CSEC and would be even better as his CTAC. As the two approached he greeted the Vulcan. "Glad you could make it." He said. Storok raised her eyebrow. "Vulcan's aren't glad of anything" She looked behind Keylor and then back at him. "What exactly is the matter with the ship? several things have already not worked, and I've only been on the ship 5 hours...?" Keylor nodded. He had not worked a lot with Vulcans to remember they have no senses of emotion. He simply let his friendly greet pass and dived in to the problems of the ship. "Well it appears they were upgrading the neural network and the entire system was infected with something. They are in the process of replacing it now." He looked at the front of the bridge. "Some systems have been restored, and the department head who's systems are up are calibrating them now." he looked back at Storok. "But until all systems are up and running, we are tied to the station like a child to apron strings." He smiled seeing if the Vulcan would react to his earth metaphor. Storok raised her other eyebrow. "child to an apron...?" She the realized what it was. "Ah a metaphor. When is the deadline for us to have our systems fully calibrated?" "The base engineers say they will have the neural network replaced in 4 days. I would expect that most systems would be calibrated as they are brought on line. So no more than 12 hours after all systems are on line." Keylor looked over the Vulcan female. He had worked with her on Aurora when she was the CSEC, but now she is in tactical. He had heard that Vulcan's, as peaceful as they are, seemed to blow things up in the name of logic. He hoped this one would not be so 'logical'. " I see. I will have tactical ready to depart 12 hours before we leave then" She stood in front of him and looked around. "Are the department staff lists available?" Keylor nodded, "I will have the XO forward you a copy. Changing the subject he wanted to see if Storok had settled in. "SO you have been aboard for a while, you find your quarters suitable? everything ok?" HE was hoping that at least a few of his officers had found their quarters in a respectable working condition. Storok nodded. "I have been assigned to the officers quarters on deck 3. though i have noticed I cannot yet replicate furniture for another 2 days. But I have enough furniture in my quarters to sleep. Intrepid class vessels aren't exactly large compared to other ships in the fleet. But without furniture the room appear to be 'satisfactory'" Keylor nodded. "Make a list of items you need and submit it to LT Guzman, the XO. We can see if we can get some items replicated on the base and transported over." He motioned to his ready room. "The entire replicator system on the ship is not functional at the moment. You will have to travel out on to the base to get food until they are fixed." He then pointed to a turbo lift. "You will also need to make sure your medical records have been received by the CMO, I believe you know her, Ltjg Summers?" He waited or the usual icy response. Storok turned her head from the science console to look at Keylor. "I do know her. I will be compiling my medical records tonight." Keylor nodded. Just then the turbo lift doors opened up and a few engineering technicians walked in and headed straight for the main tactical console. Keylor stood there watching them in silence. Like little army ants the two went directly to work. They set their tool kits on the floor and in a matter of seconds, opened several panels. The two mumbled to each other, Keylor just far enough away to not be able to make it out. Within a minute the tactical console flickered and lit up. Keylor was in awe of the engineers. What he tried to o the day before seemed effortless to them. As quickly as they cam, they closed up the access panels and started to leave. They passed Keylor and Storok heading out to deck 2. Keylor heard some one mutter, "I would like to get my hands on the idiot that wired that one." the other replied. "Yeah, probably some stupid officer thinking they are helping us." the two disappeared behind a door. Keylor , still in awe looked over to Storok. " Well it looks like you have something to work with." He grinned and glanced over to the console. Storok watched Keylor's gaze and saw the two engineers. "Indeed it does." She walked over new station and tapped a couple of buttons a display came up on her primary monitor that read: Checking Weapon systems... Starboard Ventral phaser - No signal input port Ventral Phaser - No signal input Aft Phaser array - No signal input Port Doral Phaser - No signal input The list went on and on and finally ended with : VEntral Starboard shielding - No signal input. Keylor watched as the display rattled off the no-so-good new. HE nodded as Storok commented. "well we are not leaving yet. But at least it is a start." He looked at Storok. "as your department reports on board. Start assigning them to the tactical systems. Start with shielding first, then phasers and then torpedoes. You can help the engineering teams by determining points of failure and directing them to those spots. " Keylor then stepped back. "I would like to get underway as soon as possible, but not at the expense of the ships safety. We WILL NOT leave here until you tell me this ship is ready for battle." Keylor paused for a moment. Storok nodded "Acknowledged." She waited a few seconds. "is there anything else sir?" Keylor shook his head. "Now you have enough with that." Keylor walked around Storok and then added. "Keep the XO and I updated on the status of the tactical systems and let us know if there is any thing you need." Storok nodded again. "I will sir." Keylor acknowledged the response form Storok and then turned to head off to the Mess hall where the engineers said they had fixed a few replicators there in working order. He wanted to check it out for himself. He was sure that Storok would make a fine Tactical officer. HE only hoped she would not have to test her abilities any time soon. With the crew being new to the Chimera, he hoped for a few 'easy' missions to break them in before engaging in heavy combat. ===End Log=== LtCol Bretam Keylor Captain USS Chimera & LT Storok CTAC USS Chimera
