*** SickBay. USS Chimera *** Rangi prowled around the entrance to Sickbay like a caged predator waiting for its next meal. She wanted to 'catch' the XO before he walked in to Bay2 for his medical check and came face to face with Steve Desoto. Exactly why the chance of that bothered her so much, she wasnt entirely sure. She wished that she knew what had occured when the two had met last and she wished also that she didnt have the distant niggling feeling that Shane, somehow, for some reason she couldn't fully understand, did not quite trust her. The turbolift doors, near the left hand side end of the corridor jerked open and someone came out at a rush, almost as though they thought the doors might close too soon. Rangi began to smile as she recognised who it was but turned at the shout of.. "Rangi! ..Rangi!..you'll never guess whats happening now!!" Intrigued, she took a couple of steps back into the Sickbay to see who called her and was met by an amazing sight. One of the nurses stood holding a long metal tube in one hand that dripped a blue liquid in tiny splashes onto the floor. In the other hand she held what was surely,judging by the colour alone, packs of Saverine Gel.Nurse Fleming was liberally covered from the knees down with a mixture of these two. Rangi traced backwards the bright cerise footsteps the nurse had made but before she could say anything, an almighty crash resounded throughout the main ward. "What's going.....?" A second similar, though less spectacular sound cut out her question and had her sprinting towards the Bay that the nurse had disappeared into. "Oh NO!! no no NO!!!" Nurse Fleming exclaimed as Rangi arrived, stopping short and looking in horror at the scene inside. "Lucy?...whats...happ...ened?" Rangi began to ask but stopped as she felt her feet begin to stick to the floor. Lucy Fleming slammed the open container door shut and leaned against it as though trying to prevent more of the gelatinous mass from oozing out. "Its the heat" the nurse told her weakly. "Heat?" asked Rangi in a doubtful tone as her eyes looked left and right taking in the chaos of the recently pristine Bay. "Can't explain it.." Nurse Simpson said as she approached then, wiping her hands on a cloth."It just rocketed...for about two minutes.." Lucy fleming nodded "Went off the scale Rangi...39.8 wasnt it Ann?" Nurse Simpson agreed as Rangi picked her way stickily through the blobs of solidifying gel and bent to pick up an overturned tray. "Tried to rescue it.." said Ann "..but its..." "Slippery!" Rangi said as she failed to hold onto the metal tray which fell back to the floor with a muffled 'clang' She smiled sympathetically at the two nurses. "So what have we lost?" "All in here." answered Lucy reopening the container door. "It turned into an oven!...I have the inventory...want me to get on to the Base and have them send over replacements?" "Please" Rangi replied.
