JL by Rangi and Mumacik ===== Holodeck 3, USS CHimera ===== Shane arranged everything he planned to do. He stepped out the holodeck and tapped the door console to store the program and to lock the entry. He reserved this holodeck two days in prior and now made sure that noone will acvcidently destroy the evening with Rangi. He tapped his combadge: "Guzman to Lt. Summers, please report to Holodeck three immediately" [On my way!] rangi replied.She had ended her shift and now half ran half walked fast along the corrider towards the holodeck. Shane had promised to take her 'somewhere you have never been before' {{Big clue!}} she smiled to herself wondering for the twentieth time what he had planned and where thety would go."Sweetheart!"" she said running up to him."I kept you waiting?" Shane tried to act officaially and keep a 'stone' face but a small chucke escaped him. "Hurry Rangi ... inside the holodeck, now" he said motioning her to entry. He tapped the console and unlocked the holodeck. Confused Rangi hurried inside the holodeck and remianined standing near the entrance. Shane stepped behind her and now broad smiling said: "Surprise Milacik ... Welcome to slovakia". He pointed towards the hils to their left and said: "look Rangi, there is Skalka, the highest peak in the surrounding.. The scenery was similar to Rangi's beloved New Zeland, but still was very different. It was quite an untouched nature here as well, scenery of hills and woods all around the cople, but there was no lake ... just green in all shades all around. Rangi was amazed at the beauty in front of her and, lips parted in a smile, looked slowly from right to left. She turned to look up at Shane."This is your home?" she asked and looked back again to the hills and forests that stretched away as far as she could see. SHane smiled and replied: "Not exactly, I was raised some 300 kilometers west from here, but its in range of a small personal transporter, so i used to play here quite often. I like the forrests here, the forrest fruits and the mushrooms. DO you like it here my love?" he asked with a broad smile on his lips. One arm enveloped around Rangi, he hold her tight and both looked at the nature for a moment. "It's wonderful." she answered simply crossing her arms and holding his."I love it." she twisted her head to look up at him."Thankyou." and returned her gaze to the scene in front of them."Can we go down there?" she asked pointing alittle to the left where the meadows dipped down. Shane looked at her and smiled: "Hmm ... how do you know that there is something waiting for us on the meadow just below us? Hmm ... maybe you hacked my program yesterday?" he grinned. "Lets go my love, but please be carefull, there are lose stones in the earth and the grass is quite high on the path" She took his hand and followed him down the narrow pathway.The sun was warm and the day was summer at its best.She tried to look in front of him to see what he had planned.When that prooved impossible, she looked to either side instead. "This is so lovely." she told him. Shane smiled and leaned toward her: "Thank you Rangi" he said and kissed her lightly. "Lets see what we will find here ..." he said and led the way in one corner of the meadow under a shadow of a tuge tree. There was a tartan blanked on the grass with a covered basket on it. Rangis eyes widened in delight and she smiled at him."A picnic...you've arranged it all. Oh Shane." and she reached up and kissed him before turning away and kneeling beside the basket. her hand hovered over it. "May I?" she asked or are you going to wait on me today?" and she leaned back on her hand. Shane smiled at Rangi back: "Sure you may my beloved, its all ours. I am starving after the shift and I think you are too. I thought that a nice meal in the shadow on a forrest would be just the right for a nice evenig just for us two. I think we havent had much time only for us the last week." She smiled at him. "I thought the same too. " she said opening the basket "When i learned we were on the same ship..." she smiled across at him."Its silly i know...duty comes first and all that...but i hoped for..no i WANTED more time for 'us'" She laid two plates down on the blanket and her eyes smiled into his. "...and now we have it." "And that makes me VERY happy my love. I cant tell you how surprised and happy i was when i learned that you are on CHimera s well. Bretam grined strangely as he send me to see the CMO ... he knew what a lovely surprise it will be for me ... Bless him." He sat himself down on the blanket and added: "Well, i threated Operations with a double duty if they wont reserve the holodeck for us today ..." "Ha!! wielding your power already!" she grinned and began to unpack the basket, finding inside all kinds of delicious things. Some she handed to Shane and he set them out on the blanket. So it was that in a short time she surveyed their 'feast' and asked "Shall we begin?" Shane took the food and beamed a smile at Rangi: "You know, just a small satisfaction for all the troubles beeing the Executive Officer, I begin to regret that I am no longer the CTAC, It was such a good live compared to the 'hurryness' as XO. From a part I envy Storok now. Please tell me about yoursef and how do you settle on our 'shiney new ship'? trying to decide what to sample first, rangi said."Well we had a few teething problems...but they're all more or less sorted out."She raised her head and smiled at him."I'm eager to start..to get away from the base.My shiny new Sickbay is raring to go!."She ate a sandwich and took a second one looking towards the forest. " "You came here as a child?" she turned back to him.." alone?..no..you have a brother dont you?" Shane shaked his head and had to wait for a moment to swalow his bit from a wonderfull cheese sendwich : "I have a younger sister Leia and an older brother Peter, but Leia was always a city child and Peter is quite much older then I am. So he was very often away from home when i was a boy. So i went here with my friends as a boy and later alone. I liked the quiet ..." He looked back at Rangi: "What about your family my love?" Rangi set down her glass carefully. "I dont really have a family." she said. "My mother died when I was quite young so theres just been Dad and me." she smiled at him."I would have liked a brother or sister..." She seemed to go into a day dream as she sat looking at him.She was imagining him as a small child, what he had been like then and that began to lead her to other dreams she had. She blimked at him."Where are your parents? Shane said quietly: "I am very sorry Rangi, i didnt know that." He send her an air kiss and replied: "Hmm ... Both are on Earth i think. Both are scientist working for mostly for starfleet. I talked with them just as i left the Falcon. Leia is somewhere in Orian belt and Peter is on a ship as well, but i dont know where he is at the moment." He looked at her from the corner of his eyes: "You and your Dad are getting on well with each other?" She nodded. "I love him to bits." she smiled down at a chocolate muffin and then at Shane."He's a bit...you know...old fashioned in some things." she took the muffin and bit into it. "I think you'd like him." she stated and nodded "I'm sure you would." Shane smiled and ate a muffin as well: "What makes you so sure my love? From what i heard, the tension between Fathers and the daughters boyfriends are often ... lets say turbulent." Shane chuckeld: "Maybe he wont like me and ask you not to meet me anymore ..." Rangi looked at the few chocolate crumbs on her plate thinking back to a recent conversation she had had with her father. She lifted her gaze to the mountain and pushed some of it out of her mind." Shane saw her give him a sideways glance, push three crumbs round her plate, flick away a hungry ant and lift her gaze to the mountain. "Whats the name of that one?" she asked Shane looked in the given direction: "I think, its called Matoznik. Many forrest fruits there". He looked beck at Rangi and asked quiestly: "You havent replied Milacik ... have I said anything wrong?" Rangi looked at him quickly. "No ofcourse not.No.." she shook her head."He...ummmm...he would like to meet you i think." she explained and leaning forward reached out for his hand. Finding too much 'picnic' in the way, she crawled round to his side of the blanket and kissed him lightly, sitting down next to him."I love you." she told him. Shane stroked her hair and smiled: "Really? Your father would like to see me? Thats a serious move i must say ... I was never before introduced to the 'father'. I guess I have to make a good first impression. What does he say that you are in love with your senior officer?" Rangi smiled back. "He...he thought that was.." she stopped and leaned to kiss him. As she sat back she told the basket. "He said he ...thought you sounded interesting." she gave shane her best 'trust me i'm a doctor' look. Shane gave her a surprised look: "Hmm ... I am not viser from that my love, but i trust you know your father well and that you will arrange the meeting very well. Heh," he smiled, "Interesting ... is that good or bad?" She beamed at him. "oh.. good." she answered.After a moment or two she pointed the way the narrow path led."Do you know where all these little paths go then? can we follow one..please?" She looked at him hopefully..partly because she wanted to see where they went and partly because she didnt want to talk about her father any more. Seeing that Rangi avoided more conversation about this theme for some reason, Shane dont wanted to press this point, so he noded and said: "Sure Rangi, lets go and explore the forrest. I hope i havent forgotten it all and we wont get lost." Making a joke he added: "Hopefully we wont meet any brown bears on the way ..." "Bears?" she glanced at him "Really?" her hand held his a little tighter as they stood up from the blanket and she scanned the edge of the wood with eager eyes.Looking back at Shane she pursed her lips. "You're kidding me!" she said and pushed him away. Shane smiled and came back closer to Rangi. "Just a little bit my love. In the real place, there are really bears there, i have seen one with my own eyes." SMiling he said: "But there are none here of course. you know, I cannot allowe some bear to scare you away from me ... I had to fight him ... and i generally like animals." He said and ruffled her hears gently. She wrapped her arms around him and laid her head on his shoulder. "Its lovely here. " she said "Bears or no bears.Thank you for bringing me." she looked up at him."I want us to be happy...like we are now...we will be wont we?"
