=/\= Tactical Station =/\= Acheson looked at this station as the ship held its position. The systems had been studied and practiced on on the holodeck now repeatedly, after being initially uncertain what the function of each button was. However, simulations and realism are too distinct entities, and Acheson wanted to be sure he had a good aim when it really mattered. The CO, XO, and 2X0 were all availing themselves of the R&R, leaving Acheson as the bridge officer. He set the ship to begin the simulation. He looked over to ops. "I'm going to begin target practice on vector acquisition buoys." The officer nodded, and began the power transfers. The buoys were launched by the photon torpedos tubes and they began flying in three dimensional space unpredictably. Acheson looked down at his console. "Powering phasers and loading torpedos." He set his initial target: a small buoy very close to the ship. He aimed the phasers and fired, missing it. "Oh, wait!" He aimed again and fired. The target exploded in a photographic display of light, due to the metals contained in the buoy. Acheson set the target again and fired, continuing this proces until he could aim well. "Let's begin the photon torpedo tests." The buoys went a distance from the Chimera, for safety, and returned to their random motion. Acheson aimed the torpedo. Photon torpedos were a bit more tricky, because they were not rays of energy, like phasers were. It was easier to aim a light at a target then to throw an object at a target, to be analogous. Acheson fired the torpedo. It streaked out and flew past all the buoys. The torpedo turned around and headed toward the Chimera. "What the hell!" He detonated the torpedo through an automatic sequence, before it hit the ship. Looking back at the program, Acheson chuckled mentally, not wanting to appear psychopathic to the crew. {{The targeting parameters were off}} He aimed again, comitting another Chimera torpedo to his exercize. This time the torpedo was accurate and it struck the target. He canceled the simulation and brought back the buoys, only to receive a hail from the USS Simpson +COM+ USS Simpson to Chimera, I know you enjoy breaking your toys, but how about taking a shot at a target who can fire back, eh?
