= Begin Log = Shuttle, Shuttle Bay Mike mumbled something about never getting any notice and then headed for the shuttlebay. Presumably he could replicate some things or they wouldn't be away for very long, though knowing Nick, they would be there for ages. Mike headed for the shuttle bay, ready to stumble off to whereever they would next go and 'fix' something. Nick saw Mike enter the shuttlebay through the cockpit windows of the shuttle. He wasnt carrying an Engineering kit though. "Can he not follow simple instructions?" +taps+ "Quayle to Lieutenant Blackburn. Mike, I asked you to bring an engineering kit. There is an equipment locker in the bay under the shuttle." Mike smiled. He knew that Nick was only joking and so walked around the shuttle and climbed aboard, waiting for a description of what was going on. "I wasnt joking Mike, you need an engineering kit for the mission. I did tell you when I first asked you to join me." He forwned, "Nevermind, while you are here. We are going over to the station and we have about 15 minutes to modify thportals." he resumed his tapping on the is shuttle so communications to the chimera will still get through despite the transwarp console. "I will make the modifications up this end. Take my kit and work on the relays at the back, we will need more power. Make sure you get a kit before we leave for the station." Mike had never really understood Nick's sense of humour, so he just took the kit and went to the back to actually do the relays, they would be quite easy really. He watched as Nick went back to inputting commands. "So, R&D are fully clued up about the virus. Are you going to stay aboard or are you going back to R&D?" Mike shrugged, "you always acredited me with too much planning" he said as he leaned over to seal the casing of the relay "Well it wouldnt be the same without you, you are a good engineer when all is said and done. I am going to power up the modifications." Nick inputted the commands and wasnt too happy when the conduit mike had just altered ruptured. "I retract that earlier statement" Nick said grinning, "It should only take minutes to replace. I will have to program some kind of failsafe." "Ick" Mike said. "Run Program ventilation X18 on this relay would you? Get the bloomin' plasma from it, before it seeps through and kills someone "It's already started." Nick forwned, "This is just the same as the chimera's systems. Even when they have been powered down small amounts of energy are drained from them and when powered up it leads to larger amounts." He paused for a second, "Clearly there isnt enough power to form a portal but it is still being drained." Mike shrugged again and the reported that he had done his part, he then went and sat down at the front of the shuttle. "I will finish off then will I? You just relax," Nick said sarcasticly, "It was silly of me to think that you were here to work. By the way, will you sit in the rear of the shuttle. The team will be arriving shortly and I dont know who is assigned to pilot." Nick went back to programming the failsafe, he didnt need the conduit rupturing while they on their way to the station. +taps+ "Quayle to Guzman. I have boosted communications on the shuttle but I would advise we power down if we get close to a portal.
