SD240409.27 Duty Log, CEO, Mike Blackburn
Character(s):
Date(s): 2004-09-27
Mike smiled with a degree of sarcasm, "wonderful day" he said, ending
his personal log. He had only gained two injuries, one caused from
jumped down engineering and one caused by confusion where MCpt Walsh
shot him and he hit his head.
Sitting down on the bed, Mike began to think. He had warned the
Marine, shouted at him and was on a crutch for christs sake! How hard
could it have been to realise that Mike was just an officer.
This would make excellent reading for the command team, Mike would
have probably recieved praise for saving the games before this, but
now he just appeared an accident prone idiot. Mike would have to write
an incident report at some point, and he knew how it would go already.
"Computer, Lock the doors, lest those stupid marines come in and shoot
me for kicks." said Mike. The computer beeped and replied in a
matter-of-fact way that if the marines wished then they could enter.
Mike frowned, he had checked his head over and while he was midly
concust, it was nothing worth seeing a doctor about, and Mercedes
would soon begin to think Mike was doing it just to see her.
"Computer. Site to Site transport Blackburn 2. Engage" he said
standing up, he was tired of sitting around like advised. Mike was
angry at the whole wargames concept, the idea that a crewmember could
be shot when not taking part was unheard of. "Seal Main Engineering"
said mike as soon as he had matierialised.
He tapped his commbadge. "This is the CHEIF Engineering Officer of the
USS Chimera to all hands. Please note that Main Engineering will be
off limits to wargaming officers, any intrusion will be considered an
act of disobiedience to direct orders and I will have you arrested.
Thank you for your co-operation."
The engineer on duty was looking at Mike. "This is a starship, not a
playground" said mike, "I am not having a bunch of trigger-happy
dimwits shooting around my warpcore." Mike knew he was probably taking
things too far, but how hard was it to run a tricorder to see who was
around the corner. What did they teach at the Marine Corps: shoot now,
think later?
Mike sat at the CEO Console and worked for about an hour before
someone actually came through the doors, having dared to intrude.
"Sorry sir, but there is a large group of intruders, we need to use
engineering as a tactical advantage."
Mike had been calm for this hour, but all of a sudden his anger came
surging up. "OUT" he screamed at the young marine. "ONE MORE MARINE IN
MY ENGINEERING BAY AND I WILL HAVE YOU ARRESTED. DO YOU UNDERSTAND
ME?"
Once the Marine had left, Mike wondered if he had been too harsh, then
he called a *real* security officer and posted him just inside
engineering.
