=/\= Uss Chimera - Bridge =/\= Pete had remained an observer during the Combat test the CTAC had decided to conduct. Feeling that he had a better understanding of the ships ablity in combat and the skills of the crew he was now part off Pete had relived 1st lieutenant Acheson now a good 3 hours later the Chimera was still in orbit of the Starbase. Aside from a few shuttles docking and a couple of crew beaming back it had been rather uneventful. Pete had spent most of the time reviewing crew reports and doing some back ground research on the Chimera. Mostly he was interested in her last mission and his missing Brother. A voice called out from behind near the turbo lift Excuse me," the voice said, "I'm looking for Commander Birt." Pete looked up and raised himself from the Command chair "Yes" He replied turning to face the Lieutentant behind him "Ah Lt Foster, I have been expecting you" He looked up at the crono " and your late Lieutentant you were due to report for duty 5 minutes ago" Foster moved around the rail and approached the Command area "Sorry sir i was not informed of my reassignment to Operations" Foster replied Pete mearly nodded "never mind i have your first assignment" He said picking up a padd from the small pile now gathered on the armrests of the chair "During the recent combat tests i noticed a drop in power when firing the main phaser array I'd like you to contact the Cheif Engineer and assist him in solving this problem once you are done their report to my office i'm sure we will have lots more to do" Pete sat back down in the chair before looking back at the Officer "Dismissed Lieutenant" Foster nodded "Aye sir" then he turned and was gone Pete smiled inwardly as he picked up a padd and started to read Foster like many Officers on the Chimera would soon come to realise that Pete was the kind of guy who outwardly would appear by the book but when times required he would right his own version of the book Commander Pete J Birt Stratigic Operations Officer Uss Chimera
