Rangi walked along the corridor leading to sickbay wondering at the sudden call from Georgia Lawrence the starbase CMO.{She sounded really concerned over something...surely it isnt the two crewmen I saw yesterday} Rangi stopped and slowly turned to look back the way she had come with an inquisitive expression. {Lt Blackburn...why was he wearing...no..there arent any wargames on the base....so .....why did he point a phaser at me?} Mike looked both ways before stepping into the junction of two corridors. He'd lost his assailant for now, but he knew it wouldn't last for long, lost in thought he, once more, nearly bumped into Rangi Summers. This time he was restrained and didn't try to draw his phaser. "Hello Ma'am" he said with a smile "Lieutenant!" Rangi stepped aside as the object of her thoughts materialised in front of her.She returned the smile. "I was just thinking about you!" A small frown appeared as she looked at his uniform and then at the phaser he held carelessly in his right hand. "Are you...on some sort of exercise?" she asked. "Well actually, before on the promenade... I know it sounds strange, but there was an armed man looking at me, and then he followed me out. I am worried, that he has something against me, or the crew of the Chimera as a whole. Have you seen anything?" Mike said, hoping not to sound too paranoid. Rangi instinctively glanced around."No...nothing." she replied."I've only just come from our quarters and I didnt notice any strange men. What did he look like?" "He was Andorian, armed in Ankle Holsters, I was only quite sure of it but then he leant over and I saw the tip of his weapon. I was going to try to find each member of the Senior Staff, warn them" he replied, having now found the first. "An Andorian?" Rangi shook her head " I havent seen him....but.." she forced a smile "..I dont understand why you think this man would have something against the Chimera or her crew." Her eyes scanned the CEO's face." Lt?...are you feeling k?...you look ..pale." Mike sighed. He knew his story was unconvincing at best, but he was sure of it. "I don't know why, just worried" he said. He began to wonder if Rangi was questioning him sincerely, or could she have been replaced by some evil Rangi-Clone thing? he was worried and stepped back a little. Rangi saw Mikes hand move to the holster.She remet his worried eyes. "Look...I think this needs to be sorted out." she said in an even a tone as she could manage. "If there IS someone intent on harming us...well...the Colonel should know...dont you agree?" Her attention dropped to the holster. "May I ask....where did you get the phaser?" "Oh, I went by the Starfleet Armoury, just in case. You're right. I'll make it a priority to see the Colonel." Mike said. He had worried the Doctor, whether she was real or not, she was certainley getting paranoid. Mike nodded. "Thank you Commander" he said. Rangi was confused.Exactly why the CEO should believe he was being followed by a mysterious Andorian intent on harming Chimeras crew was unclear to her. The fact that on of her fellow officers was running around the starbase with a phaser that he would obviously use did not sit well with her."Wait!" she said as Mike took a few steps away." Why dont we try to find Colonel Bretam together?" It sounded feeble even to her own ears but it was all she could think of on the spur of the moment. "You're right" said Mike, "Theres safety in numbers". He was now sure that she understood his point of view. Rangi smiled."So...what say you come to the infirmary with me?" she asked "I'm on my way there now." She waited for a reply, aware that he hesitated just a little too long. {There's something wrong} she thought {He's not himself..he's perspiring for one thing and he's definately on edge.} "Well?" she asked "Shall we go?" Mike smiled, "I'd love to, but... to be honest I need to visit someone else, first. Thanks for the offer" he said as he walked away, leaving Rangi in utter confusion.
