=/\= Before the Chimera's arrival at Kinsi... =/\= At last Stephanie Camden knew where she was going. She wasn't doomed to spend eternity on the barely space station they called "Kinsi." "Chimera?" she mumbled to herself as she looked over the message. Her orders had been in her inbox waiting for her all along. Even as she had complained about the fact that she didn't know where she was going all throughout lunch with her older brother. As she continued to read the message, the start of a smile began to form on her face. The ship would be arriving within a short while, which meant that she wouldn't be forced to stay on this station for much longer. "I need to get packing," she spoke out loud again to herself. =/\= Later...finally on Chimera =/\= Stephanie's quarters were hardly where she wanted to be after being cooped up in her room on the station for so long. But she at least needed to find her quarters and make sure all of her things had been transfered to the room before she made her way out to meet her new department head. Wandering the corridors with just a duffel bag slung over her shoulder, she checked the numbers on the doors to find the quarters she had been assigned to. Since there were several people transfering on board at the same time she was, there was a wait if one wanted to be escorted to their quarters. Instead of waiting around, Stephanie figured she could find it on her own. How hard could it be? She had been on a starship much like this one before and had no problems finding her way around. The weight of the bag was starting to pull her shoulder down as she walked on for quite some time. She was REALLY hoping that it wasn't much further to walk. As she came to an intersection of two corridors, she looked down each one, trying to decide for herself which way to go. There were no direction signs on the walls, so she decided to choose the corridor to the left. After passing two doors, she saw that the numbers were not even close to the one she was looking for. Turning around, she went the other direction. And with success, it was only a little bit further before she found the door. There were only numbers on the sliding doors, as any of the optional name plates hadn't been installed yet. She pressed the button to her new quarters and waited for the door to open. Almost immediately, she was flooded with a rush of cool air. It was much cooler inside her new quarters than it was in the corridor, and after dropping her bag on the couch, she set off to change the temperature controls. With that done, it was time to set off to the science labs to see if she could find her new department head. It wasn't mandatory that she check in right now, and she wasn't even sure if they were in their office, but it couldn't hurt to check out where she would be working. As she retraced her steps towards the turbolift, which had felt like a long journey, she heard footsteps behind her. "Excuse me, could you..." the man trailed off as he placed one hand on her shoulder and she turned around in one movement. "Well well well," he grinned slightly at her. "Look who just came crawling back." She should have expected to run into Jack on the Chimera. After all, it wasn't just chance that she had seen him on the station. Probably most of the people there were waiting for their transfer to Chimera. "Oh please," she replied, looking at his collar curiously. "Captain? When did this happen? The Jack Walsh I know..." "...and loved...literally," Jack interruptted her smoothly. "How did the Galaxy's laziest officer end up a Marine?" she smirked slightly, fixated on his green collar and funny looking rank insignia. Backing slowly into the now open turbo lift, Jack replied, "I'd love to explain, but the big cheese has demanded my presence. Let's do dinner? Friday Night?" She just nodded in reply. Putting her hand up to her ear, her thumb and pinky finger forming the shape of one of the old telephones, she mouthed the words "Call me." And as the doors closed, Stephanie brought down her hand, sighed slightly and wondered whether it was a good thing to see Jack here or not. =/\= End Log =/\=
