===Kinsi cooridores === Cameron walked quietly through the halls of the station. Having sold his flowers and spent the following day on the cargo ship cleaning the holds an loading it with their latest 'stinky' cargo., he finally had time to enjoy the station. Now showered and in a clean set of cloths, the mal fitting apparel hung off of his now wirery frame, he walked quietly through the station halls looking to try to enjoy the comforts of the station. Normally he would try to avoid places like this, but because of the relative small size of the station, Cameron figured he could chance it. Looking down occasionally at his friend, Harvey the invisible rabbit, he thought he was more than up for the task of socializing with humanity. He had taken a wrong turn or two and found himself looking down a corridor at a female standing in front of a turbo lift. She was a petite woman, young, beautiful and not very tall, but her appearance was not what drew his attention to her but her exclamation and motions. "OW!..stop that!" Is what got his attention. As he narrowed his eyes he could see the woman appear to push back the air near her feet. Cameron cocked his head to one side and watched closely. "You're not going to scare me" she said confidently, standing with hands on her hips. "I dont care what you do." She leaned forward a little and pointed at the chest, "YOU....are not real. You are a thing from a book 'The Luggage'...a picture Shane likes" She straightened up, pushed her hair back behind her left ear and took a deep breath. "Kindly move out of the way!" Cameron looked with astonishment. He looked down at Harvey and then back at the woman. {Does she things as well? May be there is some one who understands what I am going through. It really would be nice to talk to some one suffering delusions like me.} he thought. He continued to watch from a short distance as she seemingly conversed with her imaginary object. He slowly moved closer, trying to think of some way to approached her, to try to introduce her. His thoughts were wrapped up in what to say and how to say it, he had not really listened to more of the words she uttered. Lost in thought he now neared to within 10 meters of the woman when her heard her cheer "YESSSS!". The exclamation snapped him back to reality and apparently the woman as well. He watched as she started to look about, Cameron looked about as well. The woman apparently had caught the attention of others and was now noticeable embarrassed. She quickly shyed away form the onlookers and quickly moved past Cameron and his traveling companion, Harvey. Cameron stood at the junction in the hall as the other onlookers whispered to each other and soon continued on their way. Once the hall was clear, Cameron looked down to Harvey, "Well old boy. I guess she has not come to full terms with her companion like you and I. May be it was not such a good idea to try to approach her." Harvey simply scooted across the floor like most rabbits do. Though Harvey never spoke, Cameron had taken to a bad habit of speaking to him. ==Later== Cameron sat at a restaurant eating some form of meat. He was not sure what the meat was, and frankly was afraid to ask. All he knew was it was a delightful change to the leek like soup he had created with the plants he cultivated on the cargo vessel . He had been watching some man fiddling about in a fountain not far from the restaurant. The man, looked like he was talking to some one, yet Cameron saw no one. {May be thee is a mental colony near by.} he thought {After all what are the odds of seeing two people with imaginary friends in one place, let alone the same day?} As he ate the meat sandwich he looked around at many of the people. Cameron started to take inventory of the people that seemed to surround him. He saw many types of people, many races and no one seeing to be the usual straight laced, stiff starfleet type he was used to seeing on many of the starbases. All around him people were either very happy, very paranoid, very sad, very amorous, or very SOMETHING. Then it started to dawn on him, everyone seemed to be.. Strange. Finishing his sandwich he hailed the waiter over to pay the bill. With little hesitation the waiter approached in a flash. Cameron reached in to a pocket and pulled out some latinum. "SO what do I owe you? He asked the waiter. The waiters eyes grew large as Cameron stretched out the two strips of latinum. "Oh! Well that is very generous of you sir, but really two bars of latinum is too much." The waiter replied in seeing the strips of latinum. The waiter, showing much difficulity slowly took one strip of latinum in to both of his hands. It appeared to Cameron that this seemed to be rather for the waiter, This puzzled Cameron since a strip of latinum wa sway less heavier than the tray, plate and food thae waiter had used to bring Cameron his meal. The waiter seemed to struggle with the stip of latinum and looked at Cameron, "If you give me a moment sir I will bring you your change." He replied in a pant. Cameron, now puzzled beyond belief , stood up. "no that is alright, you keep the change." He said thinking that the meal was extremely inexpensive. The waiter gasped with pleasure," Well thank you sir. Please come back again." He leaned to Cameron a bit. "And when you do ask for Malik, It would be my pleasure to serve a fine gentle man as your self." He said as he seemed to grad the single strip of latinum back in to the restaurant. Cameron walked away slowly form the restaurant. People seemed to buzz about him, everyone in their own little world. Cameron looked down to Harvey and spoke aloud, not worried about what others might think. "Well Harvey, I can get use to a place like this. For once we are not the only nut job here and everyone seems to treat us nicely. I wonder if that flower merchant needs an assistant." He slowly moved off in to the crowded melee of blabbering inhabitants of the promenade. ==end log== Cameron Sikes Former LtCMdr in Starfleet
