=/\= Kinsi =/\= Elsie looked suspiciously around the store but saw no one. She continued to set the table for tea. Maggie was due soon but she seemed to be running late. Maggie was to take Elsie's place after tea today and she just couldn't hardly wait to see the new things that were happening. A large pile of books 'walked' into the teashop. They were precariously stacked and two fell to the floor as their owner collided with the door frame as she came in. This caused peels of laughter from the person carrying them and another fell onto the table in front of Elsie. ' Warp Engineering...A Beginners Guide' the title read. Maggie gingerly set her treasure down on the table and beamed at Elsie. 'Hello dear...sorry I'm late' Elsie jumped at the loud thwap of the books hitting the floor, but smiled as she heard the sound of Maggie's laughter. "Oh, that's all right, " Elsie responded as she grabbed the teapot to place it on the table. "I was getting a bit worried though. Its not like you to be late, " she said. Elsie pointed to a seat indicating the one where Maggie should sit. Elsie sat in the chair that gave the full view of the shop. "What's this little ditty for?" she asked as she picked up the book reading the title and then flipping through the pages excitedly. Maggie twisted her head to see which book her friend held. "Oh..." she said dusting her chair with a napkin before sitting opposite Elsie. "I thought I might do a bit of studying. Last time Donald and me took a week end break...you remember?...when we went to Netinet...and shuttle broke down? Well, what a song and dance! " Maggie laughed at the memory. "Donald made SUCH a big thing out of fixing the engine and I'm SURE they're not that difficult to mend... so I thought I'd do a little 'homework' " She smiled widely at Elsie, well pleased with her idea. Elsie nodded her head vigorously and then began to poor the tea. "I hope you like this one its new ginger and orange," she said enthusiastically. "I can't wait to go into that new place that opened you know the one that is just down a couple of stores and across the way," she continued in the same tune and took a sip of the exotic tasting tea. At Maggie's inquisitive face Elsie continued you know the one with the sheer looking outfits in all those sparkly colors. She spun her head around and took inventory of the shop and made sure that they hadn't been overheard. Maggie lifted her cup, closed her eyes and sniffed the aroma. She took a sip and nodded. "Very nice dear..very nice...and talking of sparkly clothes...there's a party going on down there," She pointed vaguely towards the doorway. "I got caught it in it as I came along." "Really," Elsie replied inquisitively and continued, "was it a lot of fun?" She sat thoughtful for a minute before saying, "I bet we could make sense out of these book in no time. And then After we could close up the shop, go down to that new shop and join that party. What do you think," Elsie asked with a light shining in her eyes. Maggie grinned. "Good idea dear." She frowned and considered what she had said, nodded and sipped her tea. "There was SUCH a nice young man there...you know...he might help us. He asked me what my books were and laughed when I told him. He said Warp speed was over rated and we should return to good old fashioned rocket propulsion." She laughed and shook her head, "Such a nice man..he had a LOVELY shirt on...with palm trees all over it!" She looked serious. "He said..The linear momentum of a particle is the product of its mass and velocity.... I think," she concentrated a moment. "Yes, that was it...he was VERY keen on equations...and rattled on about linear momentum...integrals and vectors ...and all the time he was jumping up and down like a thing possessed!! Such a lovely young man" "Oh, that's intriguing," Elsie responded. She took a sip of her tea and savored its flavor. "We should just skip the reading and go shopping and get to the party," she suggested as she stood up. "I bet we could learn so much more there," she smiled encouragingly at Maggie. "You have the best ideas," Maggie said jumping to her feet. She reached out, took her cup and drained the last drop, "Hmmm...lovely. Right!" She set the cup down. "Lead the way" she said. Elsie smiled and drained her cup as well. Leaving everything just as it was the two walked out of the shop and locked it up. As they walked to 'The Shimmering Leaf', Elsie said, "You know that woman that has been hanging out with Clive?" She waited for the recognition in Maggie's eyes and then continued, "I think I saw her crying today." She shook her head and thought aloud, "Its a shame; isn't it?" "That pretty dark haired girl?...what was wrong? She always looked so happy." Elsie nodded as they reached the door to the shop. "Yes, that's the one. I don't know what was wrong I just thought it was terrible because like you said she always seemed so happy." She smiled at Maggie and then looked around the clothing store. "There's so much to choose from," she said as she began to flip through the racks of clothing. Maggie turned her mind to happier things and walked along the aisle. She selected a vivid orange dress that flowed with every movement. "I'm going to try this on," she called and headed for a changing room. Elsie waved her hand at Maggie as she pulled an indigo dress from the rack. Her eyes shined with the glitter on the dress. "Oh, Maggie look at this one," she shouted. "I'm going to try it on. I love all the filmy layers that ruffle in the skirt." Three minutes later Maggie emerged from the changing room in a swirl of bright orange layers that glittered as she moved. True the top was a little bit tight...true too the skirt was a little bit short but to Maggie is was the most beautiful dress she had ever worn. "What do you think dear?" she called to Elsie as she twirled in front of a mirror. Elsie stepped out of the dressing room and took in Maggie's appearance. She watched her spin with a thoughtful expression and exuberantly replied, "Its prefect for YOU!" She looked at herself in the mirror and checked out the length first. The skirt came down to her knees and had a provocative split up the front that practically showed her underwear when she walked. When she spun around the layers of the skirt floated out making her legs an ornate center to the petals of the skirt. The straps of the top hit just off her shoulders and the deep heart shaped vee of the neckline showed a great expanse of her chest. It also might make one wonder how she was keeping the top up. {Its breath taking} Elsie thought. "What do you think of this one," she asked Maggie. Maggie blinked. "Hmmmm....." she narrowed her eyes and considered the outfit. She gave Elsie a broad smile and linked arms with her. Looking at their shared reflection she said happily: "They won't have seen anything like us before dear....let's find that party and show them how its done!" "You don't think I should buy those silver panties to go with the dress do you," she asked as she pointed them out. Although she was ready to go to the party as well. Maggie looked doubtfully at the item in question. "Best not overdo it," she said at last and smiled at Elsie. "Come on dear...lets join the fun...I can hear the beat from here." Elsie smiled brightly and walked with a swing to her step, "lead the way." =/\= End Log =/\= Maggie Clarke NPC apb:Rangi & Elsie Openhimer NPC apb:Athena
