=/\= Bridge, USS Chimera =/\= Acheson sat at the helm. It was time to get underway. "Ops, inform the starbase that we are leaving for maneuvers. Disconnect umbillical linkup and activate all disabled systems." He turned to the Tactical Officer. "Go to blue alert until we clear the starbase." The lights darkened and the consoles flashed blue as the ship went to an alert status, due to the precarious nature of leaving the base. Acheson looked at his console as the ops officer replied: "Ops is cleared. We are ready to engage." Acheson engaged the impulse drive carefuly, moving the ship forward, out of its dock. Upon clearing the dock, the ship turned toward the space station doors. "Starbase is opening the doors." He maintained the speed and head toward the doors. Just as he was about to move in there, the computer alert sounded. [Warning: Collision with Starbase emminent] Acheson gasped. "Shit!" He looked at the console and found the culprit. The ship wasn't in the correct position. He'd been moving forward but the ship had been moving at an angle. He made the course correction. By carefully backing up, he was able to straighten the ship out. Finally the ship was in position. The Tactical officer called out. "Sir, the Starbase wants to know if you are having problems." Acheson turned back, clearly stressed out. "Tell them we're fine." He set a new course and proceeded through the doors. Once clear, he could set the ship towards the coordinates 150,000 km from their position. He set the course and engaged. The ship lurched back momentarily as it shot from 1/6 impulse to full impulse. 15 minutes later, the ship arrived there. He stood up and gave the helm back to a helm officer. He walked to tactical and relieved that officer. +allcom+ "Attention all Decks. Tactical Simulation to begin in 2 hours. The next ferry to the Starbase will arrive in 12 hours, at 16:00 hours. Be advised that the ship may become turbulent during the simulation. Inform the bridge if any potentially dangerous repairs need to be done. Bridge out." He looked at tactical momentarily before calling on his combadge. +TAPS+ Acheson to Captain Walsh. Captain, the USS Simpson is going to participate in maneuvers with us.
