Hello Chimera folks, well, to be honest, not the best week we ever had. The log count isnt bad, but what i find as a bad thing ... is the high count of unexcused. Sure, we know that RL is busy and there never enough time ... but we must insist to ask you to drop us @ least a line. We need to know what is up with you ... we need to plan the plot and how to distrubute orders for us all to have fun ... and thats hard when we dont know about you. But on an other note ... the plor thickens and things start to move. The ship had to leave the bases's orbit and the cre wenjoying R&R on teh station is now chased by the station's security forces. And more then that ... we have STILL no clue what the heck is going on! Have fun ppls and enjoy the sim. Just a note: I will be on LOA for 14 days from the 2.11. I will spend holidays with my wife on Tunisia. This week: Try to avoid the base security forces and find a way how to learn a bit more about the mysterious insanity thing on the base. Ship: Learn about the pursue of our crew on the base and try to help them. ======================================================================= Mission Summary (by Queen Rangi) Elsie was intrigued by the books Maggie carried into the teashop and asked why the sudden interest in Warp Engineering. Maggie explained that she wanted to learn how to fix shuttle engines and that a pleasant young man she had met in a party had talked to her about it.The two friends soon decided to leave the books and go shopping for new party dresses, each soon finding something they liked suitable for the impromptu party. On board Chimera, Maikai was having pleasant dreams of her home in Hawaii, but found as is often the case, that the alarm woke her too soon.She spent a short time playing with her dog Kaine before heading to work. Scott was mulling over Rangis strange idea of delusional people when Maikai arrived. He asked to speak to her and they went to the CMOs office.He outlined Rangis concern and asked Maikai if she had noticed anything strange happening on board.Reluctantly Maikai replied that she had met the XO and he had seemed 'very' casual and unlike his usual self. Scott thought that would be due to R&R onboard the base.He and Maikai passed a few moments in friendly conversation about her dog before parting company. Scott asked that Mercedes be told of Rangis concern too.He decided that he would tell Rangi what Maikai had said about Shane, even though he thought it was probably nothing to worry over. Acheson wasnt doing so well.He was experiencing constant hallucinations and though he tried to ignore them, eventually the effect became too much and he contacted Chimera only to find it out of range of a combadge.Seemingly surrounded by Drones, he called for help from any Chimera crew member. Rangi found her self face to..er...'face'...with the Luggage in what she thought had been a safe hiding place. She half fell out of the wardrobe where she had hidden and made a run for the door leaving her own hallucination behind. Outside,she had a further shock when Cameron Sikes startled her and offered help.He thought he recognised her but couldnt think from where.Rangi explained about the Luggage and Cameron introduced his imaginary rabbit Harvey who, he explained, was a result of a head injury in the past. He offered Rangi a safe haven on board his ship if she needed it.Then he recalled where he had met her before and Rangi too remembered the occasion when Cameron reminded her. They had met on starbase Aurora. where Cameron had 'beaten up' a Bajoran man who Rangi realised was actually Colonel Bretam.Cameron left to return to his ship and Rangi went in search of Shane. Scott mulled over the idea of contacting Rangi and telling her what Maikai had said about the XO. Although still convinced there was not a problem, Scott decided to err on the side of caution and pass the news along.An engineer, sent to overhaul sickbay equipment, told Scott that Chimera was out of combadge range with the base. Rangi tried to tell herself she was dreaming when she was almost able to 'see' Harvey too. She set of towards the promenade, thinking that a likely place for Shane to be when she received Achesons call.Confused by the strange events occuring to everyone, she headed for the turbolift. Martin Guzman was looking his best, dressed in his Federation Diplomat uniform...though he no longer held the position. With the aid of ' previously secured' clearance , he was able to 'beam' aboard Chimera and seek out Ensign Oriana.She too had been 'seeing' things. Hundreds of gnomes in Astrometrics to name but a few! Unable to meditate or sleep, she had resorted to exercise in the drill-hall and now was in her quarters, dressed in a flowing robe drinking a cup of tea. She was surprised to see Martin on her doorstep but secretly pleased too for she had found him as interesting as he had found her during their brief earlier meeting.When he asked her to dinner she accepted gladly. He saw her reflection of a smile as she went to change. Meanwhile Shane was in the midst of the party on the Kinsi promenade and battling his way through the crowd...using SSF training when necessary...in an effort to secure bottles of lemonade.Athena was there too, clutching her blanket and watching the activity, having been knocked over and near trampled on in the crush.Elsie and Maggie were well into the musics beat. Maggie recognised Shane and they danced their way towards him arriving at the same time as Athena. After a brave attempt to keep the bottles for himself, Shane handed them out.His thoughts then turning to Rangi, he made an excuse and went in search of her. Maggie and Elsie returned to the dance floor and Athena discovered a combadge in her pocket..... Shane was on his way to the quarters he and Rangi shared when two Kinsi security officers waylaid him.After an unfortunate misunderstanding of one officers name, they explained to Shane that a Chimera crew member was currently in custody and a senior ships officer was needed to deal with him. Shane didnt recognise Gaalen and Gaalen couldnt believe that Shane , dressed like a scarecrow, was a senior officer of anything.The XO 'persuaded' Gaalen to accompany him but as they were leaving the room, they overheard a communication telling the security guards to find and arrest everyone of Chimera crew on the base.They looked at each other and made a run for it, Shane responding to Achesons call by telling him to do the same. Keylor was on his way to Chimeras sickbay when he met Crewman Anders, an engineering technician. Thinking that the young mans unsteady progress was the result of alcohol, Keylor helped him to his feet after they collided.The crewman explained he felt so relaxed he could scarcely stand up straight and Keylor suggested that they find a doctor to check the crewmans condition. Luke Skywalker stood at his console in Kinsis Ops centre, pleased that the Chimera had obeyed and moved out of weapons range.However, when he checked on other ships currently docked, he realised more than half were civilian and thought anyone of them could be an undercover SSF vessel. This thought was confirmed when he remembered his 'civilian friend' who had just transported to Chimera. James Peters, in charge of base security, happily informed Luke that everyone in charge of the brig had felt hungry and so had left it...after they had released the only prisoner they had....Gaalen..from Chimera.Luke was incensed by this and yelled at James to get his security guards together and arrest anyone who looked suspicious. He checked the internal sensors and spotted a shuttle about to depart.With a grin he decided they wanted to 'play'...he would play 'hunter'...while they (unknowing) would play 'prey'..... ======================================================================= Quotable Quotes (by Queen Rangi) "A friendly time ..." Martin was almost perceived that Oriana was up for something different then a meal, but not wanting to risk his fortune for the day he just smiled at her and said nonchalantly: "I'll wait for you here Oriana" Martin 'not liking risking?' Idrani had been expecting an officer clad in a duty uniform wearing a mean face, but instead he got some guy dressed up as ... something he could not believe. Was there a costume party going on?
