=== Bridge, USS Chimera ===
Cameron sat in the captains chair waiting as patiently as he could.
After having returned to his room and changing his uniform after the
confrontation with Shane Guzman's brother and Oriana in the messhall, he
took over on the bridge to wait for the progress of the investigations
currently in progress. There was still no new information from sickbay
about the two Vulcan bodies recovered form the shuttle accident. Nor was
there a report from Lt Andersen about the cause of the shuttles
decompression. On top of that, were the constant stream of messages for
a LT Skywalker form the base about the Chimera leaving the area.
Though they had moved out of weapons range from the base, they were
still quite visible on long-range sensors. And with several of his crew
still over on the base, Keylor was not about to leave the area with out
first collecting his crew. And with the constant threats form Skywalker,
Keylor was now convinced that some thing was wrong on the base. But with
out any thing to base his decision on, he could not even report back to
SSF command on the events other than to be vague and uncertain, both
which did not sit well with SSF command.
He looked back to the operations station and at the young ensign behind
the console. "Ensign any luck in locating our crew on the station?" he
asked. he had figured that if things went from bad to worse, the Chimera
would have to fly in and beam out her crew members as a last resort. In
preparation of that he had asked the operations officer to use long
range scanners to try to pinpoint and then track as many chimera crew
members as possible.
"Well some sir. At this range it is hard to get a good fix on their
positions. I did have the comm badges of Acheson and Idrani for a while.
They were moving about but now after what appeared to be a quick shift
in position, both of the signals seems to be stationary. For LtCmdr
Summers, her badge appears to still be moving, but I cant get a fix on
it either, just that it is moving position. As for the Executive
officer? Well his badge appears to be in his quarters, so I have no idea
where he could be. Many of the comm badges are either hard to fix a
position on or not responding. It could be the distance, or that people
have taken their badges off and left them alone. " She replied. "Oh!"
she interjected at the last moment. "And I am reading that the ships
counselor's badge has gone off line. For a few minutes there it was
emitting its emergence distress beacon. But then it stopped. My guess is
the badge was destroyed."
Keylor simply nodded his head as he listened. Though the thought of the
ships counselors badge having been destroyed distressed him some what,
he did not want to alarm any of those on the bridge to the idea that she
might be injured, or even dead because the badge was destroyed. Keylor
shifted his weight and looked back to the viewscreen, "Well do your best
to locate as many as you can. If we have to go in and extract them, I
want to beam out as many as we can." He said trailing off his words. { I
don't want to have to charge in there with armed crew. That could cause
an escalation that could end badly for all} he thought.
"Lets hope that one of them can either find their way out of there or
contact us some how to let us know what is going on over there" he said
softly as if posing a rhetorical question to the bridge crew. He looked
over to the tactical console, "Lt marks. Track every ship leaving the
base, scan them if possible and let me know if any contain any of our
crewmembers, if possible.
"Aye sir, though I have not seen any ships leave since we departed
orbit." The lieutenant replied. Keylor nodded and continued to look at
the screen. The blackness of space shadowed the base like some veil of
mystery. {If only we knew what was going on!} he shouted in his mind.
Impatient he wanted to tap on the communications circuit and shot at his
crew to hurry up and finish their work. HE wanted to pester LT Andersen
about the shuttle. He wanted to Call out to Dr Carpenter, Dr Quiocho and
the other doctors to tell him how the vulcans could hav elet the shuttle
accident happen, or why His chief science officer was acting strange.
But he knew it would not help by bothering them constantly so he
fidigeted. Realizing he was being a bit ancy, Keylor controlled his
fidgeting and gripped the arm tightly, forcing himself to wait, and wait
and wait.
