Subject: [USS Chimera] SD 240406.29 XO's Duty Log, LtCmdr. Shane Guzman
====== Bridge, USS Chimera =====
Shane sat in the Command seat frowning and not really paying much attention
to the working noise around him. Not long ago he received a message from the
transporter chief that he is still unable to locate the away team members
and even less to keep a transporter lock on them. More or less ... the away
team was lost and its fate was a mystery for now. Sumarising all the facts,
Shane realised that he even didnt know IF the team even reached the station.
Sure, the transporter reported sucessfull beaming process, but lost contact
immediately after. That means that the away team could be virtually
everywhere ...
Shane had an uneasy feeling even before the team with the Colonel left the
ship and now it seemed that he was right. Troubles ... just typical, when
one really doesnt needs more troubles then one already has ... they just
happen ... and a double portion.
Now there were two senior officers missing, first Rangi as the 2XO/CMO and
then Keylor as the CO. {At this rate, the ship will be without the senior
staff in a day} he thought. Already an hour passed since the away team
beamed to the station and still there was no contact with them. If Shane
should be following the Starfleet procedures precisely, he would declare the
team members as missing and temporary lock out their access codes and thus
become the Acting Commanding officer of the ship.
But Shane was no example officer and he felt like he would already assume
that the away team was in troubles by such an action. So he decided to wait
a bit more and in the meantime try to find the team. {And Rangi ...} he
added to himself.
Shane looked around himself and saw the busy bridge officers, everyone
occupied with his own tasks. If anyone was concerned about the fate of the
away team, noone showed it openly. That was a good crew, young and eager,
but always treating things with professionalism. Shane smiled slightly to
himself. {that's what i need now ... I need ideas, suggestions ... an
another angle of view and where should i search otherwise then among the
crew ? And anyway, I need the status reports from the department heads as
well ...} he thought.
Slowly he stood up from his chair and went over to the Science console where
Oriana and Tim were still busy. He came a bit closer to the couple and when
they have noticed him and turned to him he said: "Ensign, Lieutenant, please
come to the conference loungue in 10 minutes. We need to discuss the current
situation" Both noded like one: "Aye, sir". Shane noded back and added: "You
will inform me about your progress concerning the portals as well, all
right?" Tim looked at Oriana and then noded: "Yes, sir"
Shane then went over to Ens. Tripper who was manning Ops and looked at him.
The young officer looked up at Shane expecting orders to summon all
(remaining) senior officers. He was not wrong. "Ensign, please summon all
department heads to the conference loungue in 10 minutes" Shane said, " I
want status reports from all of them and we will discuss the current
situation" Shane countd in his mind: {Oriana, Tim Motmans, Nick Quayle,
Nathan Acheson ... just four of them were remaining ...}
Guy noded bravely: "Sure thing sir" and started to tap his console away.
Walking over to Helm he rested his hand on the Helm's console and said
towards LT. York : "Lieutenant, you have the Conn" He watched York to
acknowledge him and then turned towards the conference loungue and with long
paces he left the bridge.
===== End of log =====
<< OOC ... All right folks ... Oriana, Tim , Nick , Nathan feel free to log
yourself to the conference loungue and let the party ... erm ... session
begin. ;-) >>
