*** Sickbay * USS Chimera *** Athenas mad rush for the main door only added to the chaos that was sickbay. Some people screamed as she rushed past, others cheered her on, one woman tried to join her. "Come on...sit down here...please." Steve insisted, gently pressuring Rangi to move back to the bio-bed. Noticing the Colonels figure in the doorway, she stood still. "There's the Colonel" she told Steve. "I need to see him." "Then he will find you...come on Rangi...you need the antidote." Rangi looked across the room to where Scott was talking to Martin Guzman. "I should see how Oriana is.." "No!" Steves voice held authority, even if he spoke to the CMO. "Come on" he added quietly when Rangi looked at him."She has Scott...and theres Mercedes.....and Maikai will be back anytime now. You're not indispensible...and you need the antidote." Sighing agreemant, Rangi relented her cause and sat herself on the edge of the bed. The Luggage sidled up to her and sat down near her feet. She looked at it disconsolately. "How're you feeling?" Steve asked, preparing yet another hypospray. He glanced up to his right sharply as someone informed the sickbay that his name was Napoleon..that he had taken control of the ship..and they would be flying to Risa shortly. Rangi raised her head and looked in the same direction. "Oh not too bad.." she replied turning away from Napoleon and the nurse who was endeavouring to get him to sit down. "Tired..a little confused...I can't seem to think straight." Steve said nothing, checked the dosage and moved to stand almost in front of her.She looked up at him. "Was it tough on the base?" he asked quietly. "Oh no...not at first.." she replied wearily."People just seemed.... very happy..relaxed. I didnt realise anything was actually 'wrong' until 'that' turned up." she answered looking at the Luggage. It looked back at her .... sadly. Steve glanced back but saw nothing except the floor. "What is it?" he asked returning his gaze to Rangi. "Its the Luggage." she replied, looked up at him and at his silent enquiry explained: "Its a wooden chest...like a treasure chest." Steve looked back at the space and asked: "Is it very big?" "Yes....pretty much. It could easily eat you." He didnt answer, but gently angled the hypospray against Rangis neck. A fleeting frown crossed her face as the medication was injected. "It has little feet." she went on, still looking at the Luggage. "Right" Steve said for want of a better reply. "..and it follows you about does it?" Rangi nodded. "I woke up and it was looking at me...much as its doing now.It was standing next to the bed and I.." She stopped and raising her head to Steve asked quickly "Is Shane here?" Steve tightened his lips, removing the used cylinder from the hypo and shook his head. "No" Rangi straightened up, glancing around the main ward, searching for a sign of the XO. "Steve?...can you give me a hand please?" The slightly exasperated voice of Napoleons nurse, drew their attention and they saw her beckon hopefully. Steve turned to Rangi, undecided. "Its ok..I'm fine..you're needed there." she said. Still he hesitated. "ohhh...geeeeez...whats 'in' that?" Rangi asked slumping forward and pressing her left hand to her head. "Its ok Steve..I'll see to it." Lucy Fleming stood beside them. "Go on!" she said impatiently. Steve sighed annoyance, turned and hurried towards the nurse and her Emporer who was demanding to know where his crown was. Lucy sat down on the edge of the bed next to Rangi and put a comforting arm around her. "You alright?" she asked softly, bending forward to see Rangis face. Rangi, still holding her head, nodded assent. "It'll pass in a minute." Lucy told her. Rangi lifted her head, gripped the edge of the bed with both hands and said. "I feel really woozy...I need to lie down." Lucy jumped up from her seat."Dont worry..I'm here......." Gently she helped support Rangi as she lay sideways onto the bed."There you go...thats it....ok?" "Yes...thankyou.." The Luggage shuffled closer to the bed. Rangi watched it for a moment before closing her eyes. Lucy tapped in a few observations onto a medpadd. "Is Shane here?" Rangi asked. "No..not yet." Lucy replied consulting the display and reached up to make an adjustment. "I wish he would come." Rangi said sleepily. "He will dear he will." Lucy replied in her best soothing voice. She set the medpad aside and smiled down at Rangi who opened her eyes. "Oh..you're still here." Rangi said looking at the Luggage. "Yes...dont worry..I wont leave you." Lucy replied, thinking the comment was addressed to her. "I cant see you so well." Rangi murmured. "Cant you dear?" Lucy took Rangis hand and gave it a gentle squeeze, checking the display for any untoward signs. " I need to sleep.... but...Shaaaane...." She forced herself to open her eyes, blinked and saw only the polished floor. "Gone.." she whispered. "He'll be here soon..dont worry Rangi...soon." Lucy patted Rangis hand in reassurance, shifting her gaze down to the figure on the bed. Rangi was asleep. *** End log *** LtCmdr Rangi Summers CMO/2XO USS Chimera & Ens Steve Desoto AMO USS Chimera & Lucy Fleming Nurse USS Chimera (npc)s Rangi The Luggage...by Itself :)
