===== Captain's ready room, USS Chimera ===== For several minutes Shane walked around the little ready room thinking how to do the promotion's ceremony. From some angle of view it was a shame that no high-up from SSF Command could come and promote Keylor. It would add the ceremony a certain patos of importance and style ... but on the other side, without some general or admiral from SSF the ceremony could be done in an more informal way ... more like among friends. Sure, the CO of a ship was rarely taken as a friend to his crew, afterall he was the big boss, but there was some sort of formal friendship building up between the senior crew on the ship. If Shane should judge, the closest person to the gneral was Athena. The 'rumour mill' was working and even the XO heard from time to time something about the CO and the counselor. Of course Rangi, she and the general understood each other very well and Shane never heard about 'issues' between the CO and the CMO/2XO. Natahan was the same case as Rangi and the fact that Keylor promoted him from ODA CO to CTAC prooved that the two man shared similar thoughts. Oriana was a case for herself. She was vulcan, so thought not much about friendships in general. But from the latest Shane heard, she and Rangi were at good terms lately. Hard to say about the CO, but Shane had the feeling that he valued Oriana's work very highly. As for Mike ... Bretam trusted him a lot and even when Mike was a bit ecentric from time to time, the two man understood each other. One of the latest addition to the senior crew was Jack Walsh, he was not a social man and for the crew he was still a mystery. Even if several woman from the crew could tell ... But still ... Shane wanted the ceremony take place on the bridge, the place where the decissions were made. Sure, it was not a large room, but Keylor was a born CO ... and it would be quite symbolical to become his first general star on a bridge. He tapped his commbadge: +TAPS+ Guzman to LT. Foster. Please summon all senior officers beside the Colonel to the bridge in 10 minutes. Dress unform required. After a second pause the somewhet bored voice of Mr. Foster replied: "Aye, aye sir." Shane could imagine that the OPS officer was a bit surprised about the strange order. With a swift walk, Shane left the ready room and headed to the turbo lift. To catch his own dead line, he had to be fast and there was even a pie he had to replicate. ===== 10 Minutes later, Bridge, USS Chimera ===== Shane looked at the assembled senior officers. Many of them were surprised about the sudden call and looked to be eager to learn the reason. The fact that they were dressed like for a diplomatic banquet made their eagerness even worse. The bridge crew that was on this shift's duty looked with interest on the assembled officers bunch. Certainly there was something going on there! Especially notice worth was the large green-ish pie that the XO brought with him and now was resting on the CO's seat. {Was the crazy XO trying to start a pie battle?} thought a man behind the engineering pannel. Shane kept silence, he told noone about the reason they were here. Rangi looked like she was about to ask him, but something prevented her from doing it. Maybe it was the serious expression Shane tried to wear on his face and the dress uniforms all around. The green velvet box was safe hidden in Shane's pocket and he hoped that the surprise will be equal for everyone. Athena, who had experience with what a pie is used for, smiled slightly. Shane asked himself if she quessed it. Rangi was standing there lovely like always, the tight dress uniform making her even more sexi as usual. Jack wore an sour expression obviously 'happy' about the green dress uniform he had to wear. Nathan stood there tall and quiet, he looked at the pie as well ... he was pied once as well, and maybe asked himself about the pie-victim. Oriana stood near Rangi with her motionsless expression and watched the others. The always happy CEO - Mike stood there a bit nervous, making the impresssion that he wanted to be somewhere else. Shane went over to the OPS console and tapped a button: "Bridge to Colonel Bretam. Sir, there is something i think that requires your immediate attantion" he said in an business like tone. The poor Colonel could think that there was some astral phonomenon apearing next to the ship or something similar. +TAPS+ On my way Commander ... came Keylor's reply over the Comm. Shane then walked over to his seat, saying nothing. Sure, it was a bit awkvard ... noone really knew what was going on there ... but Shane wanted it to be a surprise for everyone, the senior crew included. Swift like a seasoned marine, the Colonel appeared on the bridge within three minutes. He stepped outside the turbolift and stoped for a moment. It was clearly visible that the assembling of his senior crew in dress uniforms took him by surprise. Shane smiled over at Rangi and went towards Bretam. He motioned with his hand to the centre of the bridge and said: "Sir, if you could please come over here ..." Bretam obeyed. Standing in front of Bretam, the senior crew to their right, the main screen to their left, Shane created an serious facial expression and said: "Colonel Bretam, I was contacted by Admiral Hunter from SSF Command. He made me aware of fact that there is a serious issue that must be dealth with. Our recent 'missions' didnt remain unnoticed by the SSF Command and even SF Command, and those high ups in Strarfleet Command decided that the rank of Colonel isnt suitable for you anymore." He paused for a moment to extend the uncertain. "With authority entrusted to me from SF and SSF Command I hereby" Shane went on with a stone face, "announce the promotion of Colonoel Bretam Keylor to Brigadier General." Shane could almost not hide a wide smile as he took a step closer to Keylor and pulled out the green velvet box. He opened it and looked at the single general star inside. Handing it over to Keylor he added: "Congratulations general" <<OOC ... dont hesistate to log your own angle of view of the promo and feel free to add any details you want.
