Hello Chimera crew, We finally finished the 'flower' plot. ;) Three times 'huraaa!' I must say that i enjoyed the reading during the whole plot and this week wasnt bad eighter. Like after every plot, now its some little time for R&R. I think that a week might be just the right lenght for the R&R and soon we will start our next plot. So N'joy the free time on board this week! Promotions time is ahead! We started with out mighty CO ... and I would like to congratulate Indy to his promotion to Brigadier General once again. Its great to have a flag officer on board Indy ... ;-P For the other crew's promotions and awards, dont be sad ... THIS coming week, some MORE people will be pied! ::Grins:: Expect the pies this week ... ;))) On another thema ... our mighty CO plans a well deserved LOA very soon. He placed me in charge for that time. I'd like to say a big thankyou to everyone for contributing to the 'Flower Plot'.It wasnt the easiest going at times but there was a great input from everyone and it all came together really well, making a fun to read (and write) story.Thankyou to everyone who took part. Congratulations to our dear CO, now Brigadier General :) It's a promotion well earned and richly deserved Indy :) Now we are moving towards a short time of R&R....AWAY from a starbase this time!! Indy is the leading spirit of our sim and his performance was always to the highest standart. I am really VERY honoured to sim with a man of his calibre. Congratulations again general! ======================================================================= Academy: None ======================================================================= Awards: None. =/\= MISSION ASSIGNMENTS/MISSION SUMMARY/QUOTES OF THE WEEK =/\= ======================================================================= Mission Asignments Last Week: Finish finding and transporting crew on base, treat transported crew. REpair any damage form the warpp core explosion. This week: Celebrate and ejoy the short R&R. ======================================================================= Mission Summary (by Queen Rangi) Acheson answered his call to the Bridge and in an effort to lighten the mood, acted as a Drone, however the Colonel wasnt amused and merely wondered if Sickbay had released the CTAC prematurely.Keylor explained the planned rescue mission for the crew still remaining on the base. The two officers discussed the pros and cons of the plan including the possibility of opening fire on a Federation Starbase, something Keylor preferred not to dwell on.Nathan completed a number of simualtions concerning an exchange of fire bewtween Chimera and the base. The findings were far from encouraging and Nathan informed Keylor of that fact. Oriana had returned to Astrometrics and immediately asked if the recalibration of sensors had been completed.Pleased with the work that had been done, Oriana blamed herself for the overwork her time in sickbay had caused her team.She asked for a report on the short range sensor effiency, studied the padd she was given and announced that things could be improved but unfortuneately not to 100% so they had to do what they could and hope for the best. Petrel was surprised by this un-Vulcan like phylosophy and questioned it.Oriana replied that it sounded good. This amused her team and Petrel wondered if the pollens recent effects on Oriana had brought about a lasting change.She ordered everyone to work and gave Petrel responsibility for liasing with other departments, explaining that her presence in Astrometrics was 'unofficial'. After an hours work Oriana was almost satisfied with the 99,956% the sensors now had. She ordered all except Petrel to take 30mins rest and returned to ! her quarters. Each department prepared itself for every eventuallity as Chimera closed in towards Kinsi.Soon the rescue mission was underway, the ship remained undetected and all seemed to be going smoothly if somewhat slowly.Then Lt Acheson reported a power surge in the Base engineering that could only mean that a warp core breach was in progress. Keylor suspected that it was a sensor trick of some kind, similar to the one Cameron Sikes had used, but the Lieutenant was certain the facts were correct and that the breach would occur within minutes.Keylor had no time to reply before Nathan reported the warp core had been ejected and that the station was in danger from the certain soon to come explosion. Keylor responded with an order to bring Chimeras tractor beams online and lock on to the core.They made best possible speed away from the station for three minutes and Keylor decided they had to disengage the tractor beam. As the ship went to warp 1, the core exploded but luckily Chimera was! undamaged and returned to the now 'harmless' base where it continued to scan for remaining personnel. In Main Engineering, SB Kinsi, Chimeras XO had more or less given up expecting a last minute rescue to begin. Shane knew that the base engineers were too engrossed in their domino game and decided that if 'anyone' was going to do something, then that 'anyone' was him.The only course open to him was to eject the core himself. All seemed to be going well until a red light warned him that though the core was ejected, it wouldnt clear the base before it exploded.There was nothing else he could do and thinking he had failed, Shane turned to the engineers with a wild cry of frustration.....and was transported.Two security guards, waiting in Chimeras transporter room were ready for any 'wild' arrivals and sedated the commander before any questions and answers were spoken. Rangi had returned to her quarters but her sleep was soon inturrupted by a call from LtFoster telling her the ship was almost at the base. She hurried to the transporter room and waited for the rescued crew to be transported aboard.They were all suffering the pollens effects and were sent to one of the two sickbays. A crewman arrived carrying a sword and, in fear of being caught, lashed out at one of the security guards injuring him badly. The crewman was eventually sedated and Rangi accompanied the injured man to sickbay where she and Scott Fisher worked to heal his injuries.Lt Foster informed her that the XO had been located.Rangi requested he be sent to sickbay immediately. By the time Shane awoke, sickbay was quiet. He and Rangi shared a few moments together, piecing together what had been happening, though both ommitted to tell the other of the more dangerous aspects they had endured. Shane wanted to leave sickbay but gave into Rangis request that he spend one night there. Athena had been taken to sickbay and treated by Dr Quiocho. She too slept for a while but decided she would be better off in the peace of her quarters.Nurse Fleming spotted her leaving and challenged her. Rangi, on her own way out, was again aware of an unexplained feeling of distrust when she saw the pretty counselor and the red satin gown she wore.She asked Athena to return to bed and the counselor agreed but with bad grace.Lucy, sensing something 'not quite right' kept an eye on the pair and was shocked to hear Rangi barely contain her temper with Athena.She offered to call Maikai to deal with Athenas headache and Rangi, thinking that she was still affected by the pollen, agreed and went to rest. A day later, found Shane in charge of the Bridge when he was told of a transmission from SSF Command. He was surprised it was for him and not the Colonel and went to the ready room to accept the call.Admiral Hunter informed Shane that Colonel Bretam was to be promoted to Brigadier General and that shane himself was to perform the ceremony.Shane willingly agreed and asked permission for the custom of throwing a pie at the newly promoted officer. The admiral agreed. Shane relished the thought. :-) He took a few moments to consider the relationship keylor had with his senior officers and decided the promotion ceremony should take place on the Bridge.He had LtFoster summon them there while he went to replicate a particularly 'gooey' green pie.Once all were assembled, Shane called Keylor personally and asked him to attend on the bridge immediately.On arrival, he was surprised to see the other senior crew there in dress uniform.Shane informed Keylor of SSFs decision for promotion and proudly presented a stunned Colonel with the famous green velvet box. Rangi had apologised to Athena for her outburst as the two had travelled together to the bridge. As Shane ended congratulating Bridagier General Bretam,they took charge of the sticky pie and laughing, pushed it onto Keylors face with their own added 'congratulations'. Shane, Nathan Andersen and themselves were spattered in the pie.Adding a little fuel to the rumours already circulating on the ship, Athena wiped the gooey mess from Keylors face and he caught hold of her wrist :-))) Meanwhile, in the mess hall, Mercedes carpenter was sharing lunch with Lucy Fleming.When scott fisher entered the hall, Mercedes attantion was drawn to him. She asked Lucy how long she had known Scott, commenting that they seemed close. Lucy replied they had been friends for about three years and Mercedes asked if he was seeing anyone special. Lucy, sensing the AMO s embarrassment, replied that as far a she knew, Scott wasnt and they asked him to join them. After a short time and following many 'meaningful' looks at Scott (all of which he failed to understand) Lucy left Mercedes and Scott alone....;-) ======================================================================= Quotable Quotes (by Mrs. President Jass) THE FLY... For the last 20 minutes he tried again to persuade the engineers to take care about the eminent warp core breach ... but with no success. All the engineers were like addicted to the little domino leauge they were playing and Shane was only like a bussing fly for them. Luckily noone decided to squash that fly ... Cmdr. Shane "SuperFly" Guzman HIDE AND SEEK... "Sir," Petrel asked quite quietly: "Are some reason, why you can`t report the ship you alone?" "Yes, it is. My presence here is not quite ... official." She looked at Petrel: "If it would anything to happen, report me. i will be in my quarters." And she left the astrometrics. Ens. "Now you see me, Now you don't" Oriana SIMPLE SIMON MET A PIEMAN..... Shane noded pleased that even the 'big boss' of SSF wasnt against Keylor's pieing.He hardly managed to hide his grin imagining Keylor's expression when he will notice the pie ready for HIM (this time). "Thank you Admiral, we'll prepare everything for the promotions" Shane grinned to himself one more time. Cmdr. Shane "GIGGLES" Guzman AN UFO?
